Our apartment was basic but spacious. It was difficult to get fresh air even with the windows open, and lacked air conditioning The car park costs extra and is a complete nightmare to get in and out of The location was difficult to find as its tucked down a side street, but was within a reasonable walking distance of amenities. The staff on reception were all friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome I would stay again overnight but would prefer somewhere a bit more upmarket

We came to stay as my father was having surgery at Auckland Hospital. We have stayed before so we decided we know the place why not. One again was petrified of the carpark. Steep sloping and angled into the carpark then to go down to the lower parks was again steep and sloped. The weather was bad so heading into the carpark was extremely slippy and even with 4wd on and breaking the car was sliding. Very scary. The room was ok. We had 4 of us staying but was only set up really for 2. Missing plates/cutlery/ cups etc. no dish brush to do dishes. Dishwasher didnt really clean the dishes well. The bed my daughter and i had was super lumpy and i left with a sore back. My parents loved their bed. Tv was terrible, could only get a couple of channels and it was full of static. Now dont get me wrong the place was clean and comfy feeling. My dads words “flash as” (we dont stay in motels much). There was banging during the night but im guessing that was other guests partying. One positive note was our lovely receptionist Parry!! He was so kind and helped us out in an extremely stressful situation. Made us feel welcome and looked after. We would stay again only because of him. The carpark is sadly extremely of putting. Especially in the rain.

We had the misfortune to be stranded in Auckland due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our flight was cancelled whilst we were actually at the airport and had nowhere to stay. We were provided with a list of places we could possibly stay, and chose Waldorf St Martins Apartment Hotel more or less at random. The staff could not have been kinder and more helpful (particular thanks to Parry and Nessie). We stayed in two different two-bedroomed apartments both of which were well equipped and clean. The first room we stayed in on the 10th floor had seen better days, our second room on the 18th floor was more comfortable. We were impressed by the quality and cleanliness of the towels and bed linen and the well equipped kitchen. We felt that the staff handled the crisis very professionally and made us feel very welcome. We were given a very good deal, and we thought our apartment was excellent value for money.

Hi David E, Thank you very much for your kind words. It has been a stressful time for everybody and I am extremely proud of the team here at St Martins who have stayed on to look after our guests. It has been a period defined by the uncertainty of the situation and teh conditions of the lock-down period. The skeleton team that has stayed on has taken it in the stride and continued to serve our guests with the compassion and empathy that we pride ourselves in . I hope you were able to return home and are now safe and well. Best wishes, Nigel Harford Hotel Manager

Stayed here for 3 nights at end of our New Zealand holiday. Arrived before the advertised check in time but the receptionist quickly found an apartment that was ready. 2 bedroom apartment on 6th floor with full kitchen, bathroom and air conditioning. Breakfast was included in the price and was very good . All the staff we met from the breakfast room staff to receptionists were friendly and helpful. Only drawback is noise from outside due to traffic and helicopters going into the hospital

We booked late as our other accommodation fell over so perhaps our fee was inflated but we felt totally cheated paying over $1,000 for two nights in this slightly sad and tired hotel. No air conditioning, no double glazing, loud street noise, a falling apart sofa, generic 'all-in-one' hair & body wash in the shower. We had asked for a high floor if possible as we had stayed here before and new it would make a difference to the noise levels - unfortunately (again probably due to our late booking) we ended up on the 4th floor and were woken a lot in the night by street noise (15 mins of noisy bin emptying and rubbish compacting at 0400!) - a great reason to fit double glazing and have some air conditioning in the rooms! We would have no problem with any of this if the hotel were advertised as 2-3 star and priced accordingly. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is great - but the experience overall just left us a little flat.

HI CantabRob, Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you were woken by the rubbish collection for the neighbouring buildings. I am in contact with the relative building managers and hope to arrange a less disruptive time for there collections. Our standard 1 and 2 Bedroom apartments do not have air-condtioning although fans and heaters are provided. All other apartments have heat pumps installed. Kind regards, Nigel Harford Hotel Manager
