We stayed here during the covid 19 time and have to say that This hotel and all of its staff were fantastic. They looked after us so well and accommodated us with multiple changes of dates due to cancelled flights. They made sure that each floor of the hotel had lots of soap, towels, etc without breaking the restrictions in place. We can not fault them and would recommend them highly.

We stayed at the Nesuto Stadium in Auckland at the beginning and end of a monthlong trip to New Zealand. We arrived in early March and enjoyed a quiet hotel after about twenty hours in planes and airports. There are several small restaurants next to the hotel and many, many more a walk or a ride away.

We returned just before New Zealand went into lockdown. The reduced staff made sure we had fresh towels and soap and helped us with some Wi-Fi problems. We were nervous about the lockdown but felt the friendly and professional staff would take care of us. Would definitely return.

Dear Robert1244, Thank you for your review. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and found our team was friendly and able to assist you during this stressful time. We are in progress of upgrading the Wi-Fi system throughout the building and expecting it to be completed once lockdown ends. Most of our rooms and apartments are now receiving speedy and strong Wi-Fi signal. As you mentioned, we are located in the city centre and near the Britomart which makes it a perfect location to explore Auckland city. Our team would be able to provide you a list of recommendations depends on your needs if you would like to check out local places. Look forward to welcoming you again in the near future. Thank you again for staying with us. Kind regards, Matilda Kim Assistant Manager Nesuto Stadium

We booked our 2-night stay in this hotel several months before and consequently obtained a very reasonable tariff, which unexpectedly included breakfast. The room was compact, comfortable, looked like it had been recently refurbished and included a small balcony with two chairs and a table. The view (8th Floor) was over the top of a parking building, but we weren't expecting a sea-view in any case! The room was equipped with a double bed, a small wardrobe with 4 clothes hangers (more would have been appreciated!), a modest room safe, ironing board and iron, small table with two chairs. Also a desk, but one chair had to be "borrowed" from the table. A desk lamp would have been ideal rather than relying on the ceiling lights. A kettle was provided together with tea and coffee bags.
Plenty of hot water in the shower, but the water pressure was only satisfactory.
There were no hooks for hanging your clothes, and just a single towel rail, which was disappointing.
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, with a reasonable selection of fruit, cereals, pastries etc, plus a basic cooked option provided by a resident cook. Speciality coffees are available at additional cost.
The hotel is on the eastern fringes of the CBD, a mere 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Britomart transport hub (buses and trains) and downtown.
Staff were noted to be friendly and helpful.
A major supermarket is conveniently situated a mere 200m away, and the hotel is located just a short walk from the multi-purpose Spark Arena which hosts many shows etc.
Apart from the relatively minor items mentioned, we would certainly recommend the Nesuto Stadium Hotel. Check out the apartments for longer stays.
Bottom Line: Would we stay here again: Absolutely!

Dear Uhuru6948, Thank you so much for your amazing review of us and the beautiful scores! We are very thrilled to read that you choose to stay with us again for your next trip! It is absolutely the complement that we love to hear. As you mentioned, we have recently refurbished hotel rooms and are still improving on the areas with feedback from the guests like you to make our guests stay happy and enjoyable. Our ceiling lights have the ability to control the amount of lights in your room but we are looking at options to provide more information about our room to assist your stay better, and I will investigate further on the room you stayed if the desk light will be better for the stay, we will check on those options in the future. We are glad to know that you enjoyed our breakfast during your stay and the team were friendly and helpful. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us and the entire team will look forward to welcoming you to Nesuto Stadium again. We will be more than happy to show you an improved version of ourselves and make your stay more memorable! Kind regards, Matilda Kim Assistant Hotel Manager Nesuto Stadium Hotel and Apartments

During our stay we had no WiFi in our room. When calling the front desk somebody came to our room to look into fixing it and discovered there was no WiFi router in our room in which there should be. Was advised they would get one for me and never came back or gave the courtesy to call and tell me what is going on. After returning from dinner asked the front desk about the WiFi and was told they don't have any routers available or they're old and there's not enough I.P. addresses to facilitate WiFi in our room, was then told to use WiFi in the lobby. I responded saying that's not our problem when we are spending $500 for 2 nights we should have WiFi access in our room. All they said then was we can offer a complimentary breakfast which was irrelevant because we had to checkout at 4am the next morning. Wasn't offered anything else nor an apology.

Also no facilities for washing clothes

For the price of the accommodation I wouldn't recommend staying here but it is a convenient location.

Avoid this place - it is the budget airlines of “hotels.” They try to nickel and dime you for things that would be included anywhere else and it has no amenities. WiFi is spotty at best in your room and their check out policy is an absurd 10am in the morning. I don’t think I’ve stayed in any kind of hotel or hostel that has checkout at 10am! When I asked why the front desk person merely replied that they used to be an apartment as if this was any justification for poor service and policies now that it’s been converted to a hotel. She also refused to extend checkout until 11:30am which is merely standard checkout time anywhere else. Terrible service! They also do not pick up the phone at the front desk and the hotel is located on a busy street which is noisy.

Dear lilafwade, Thank you for sharing your experience with fellow travellers. I am sorry that we were not able to meet your expectations. We are in the process of a major make-over and will be introducing a brand-new restaurant and good WIFI. We do have some shortcomings at this stage, and we are working on it. A late check out is subject to availability and it also depends on what's happening in Auckland such as concert nights, cruise ships etc and we do guarantee a 3 pm check in. It depends on individual’s choice on choosing the location of the hotel as a lot of our guests love how central and convenient we are to the harbor, restaurants and the event centre and don't mind the cities heartbeat. Thank you once again. Kind Regards, Savio D'Rozario, Duty Manager, Nesuto Stadium.

Room was convenient to ferry and Britomart, had good WiFi, quiet Apartment with a good size living space. It had a washer dryer. The main problem is that the hotel is going through renovations. We were told there one be no hot water one day between 10 and 4. We took showers before 10 and had NO hot water. The staff seemed surprised. That night we had hot water, but the next morning when we went to shower again, NO hot water a second day. Their solution was to send someone up to our room to run the tap to see if there was hot water. When we checked out the next day, they apologized saying that the first day they realized the hot water switch shut off. Then it happened again the next day. (Seems that if it happened once, they would have checked on it the next day to make sure it didn’t happen again to their guests). Then, when my husband was on the patio (1/3 of it filled with water from the dripping A/C unit), 2 men came in the room to work on the telephone wiring. We were Not informed that anyone would be working in our room that day. Also, the staff who checked us in was not very knowledgeable about the area and told us there would be no housekeeping service, but if we needed something to just ask. This was not the case as we had an unexpected housekeeping visit after our 3rd day. They did call a cab for us when we checked out. Thankfully our following accommodation was amazing!

Dear Ehowser, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are really sorry about the miscommunication about the water shut down and the phone upgrade work . This is all a part of the renovations taking place and I do understand how this may have impacted your stay. On a positive note I am glad you liked the self contained rooms,WiFi,the location of the hotel and that we were able to make arrangements for a cab for your future travel. I once again offer my most sincere apology and its our hope that you will give us an opportunity to severe you better once the renovation work has been completed and we are all new and fresh. I made an account specifically to leave feedback about this hotel. Room (2-br family apartment) was excellent in all respects and very well-priced.

Staff were attentive and obliging, and the overall impression was that this is a modern, safe and well-maintained hotel.

In a city where finding family accommodation is not an easy task, this is a somewhat hidden gem.

Located right near the Spark Arena, it would be an ideal spot for an overnighter in Auckland if you were attending a show and didn't fancy driving home afterward.

Parking (just around the corner, so a very short walk) was included in the price.

A+++++

We arrived and had to wait over 25 minutes to check in. The queue was very long, and it took ages for each party to check in. Far too long. I stay at hotels a lot and all over, and this is the worst check in experience I've had in years. The staff are nice enough, trying to do the best they can with the large number of guests arriving etc but they should have more people on the front desk at busy times and the process to check in people should be a lot faster.
Then getting to the room I find NO toiletries in the bathroom, only 2 little sachets of milk, and only 3 tea bags. I called to ask for these and it took 20 minutes for someone to come to deliver the toiletries and tea bags. But there's no SOAP because they have run out of soap in the whole hotel!
The room is large, and clean and nice enough but there is nothing DELUXE and $297 about it. Our experience so far, for what was supposed to a special, romantic trip to Auckland to see a show, is so disappointing.
This is an over-priced hotel capitalising on the high demand for accommdation near Spark Arena. We won't return.

We had previously stayed at Nesuto to see a show at Spark Arena and found the accommodation to be very comfortable and great value for money. This time we were starting early on our Northern Explorer journey back to Wellington and this accommodation is only a short walk from The Strand railway station so was ideal.

Our only concern was breakfast did not start until 7am and we were needing to leave by then. This was no problem for the helpful staff who organised two takeaway breakfast bags for us to take with us.

Stayed here twice in last couple of months and would definitely stay here again. Very friendly staff and clean, comfortable apartments - would definitely recommend

The office building next door could see our shower and toilet. The window was not tinted and people could see us shower. The room noise level was incredibly high. We couldn't sleep all four nights. I informed the manager about these two issues, her only solution was for us to pay $100 extra per night for an upgrade. However the upgraded room would still have a window where office workers could see us shower. Absolutely rubbish. Paid so much for such poor room quality. The lifts also smelled like wet dog. I understood they were undergoing a renovation of the lifts however there is no good reason for them to not clean it still.
