My partner and booked the retreat room for valentine's day. It was expensive but we do not regret it and we think we would go there again. Great and friendly host. When we got to the lodge we found out we were the only ones staying there that weekend so we got a free upgrade to the luxuiry suite. The...

My husband and I booked this lodge for our three-year anniversary on the recommendation of a workmate's in-laws, and we were very glad we did. The service was warm & friendly; the food & wine delicious; spacious, clean rooms, and the overall ambience perfect. Karl, the host for our stay, upgraded us to the luxury suite as there were no...

The Bed (two single mattresses put together) brought back memories of a teenage days sleeping in the back of my bedford van. Relaxation was sought through a...

In response to the various points : 1. The chef concerned is highly experienced and we take offence to the reference of a "monkey". We do take...

Quite simply, this is an astonishing place. Johann has created the ultimate in luxury lodges, on a hill top with breathtaking views and utter luxury. The outside bath in the Retreat room has a view over the taps for perhaps 30 miles and straight up to the stars at midnight. Even on 13th November it was warm enough to stay...
