Detailed Reviews
I requested an upper level room, away from the street but didn't get it. My room S3 was one story up but adjacent to the reception area - when you see the hotel you will understand this. I believe there are a couple of basement rooms with no window.
Negatives: The noise, especially early in the morning, was unbelieveable - both outside and inside the hotel. Doors banging (no soft close), unattended alarms going off in other rooms, high heels clicking on the foyer floor, gaps on external balcony doors. I was in S3 near reception and could hear all conversations. If you intend to get up around 6am anyway, stay here - you won't need to set an alarm. Also, no chain lock on room doors. Wifi is free but really slow.
I gave a Poor rating on value simply because I got no rest. I slept for 13.5 hours upon my return home and it wasn;t jet lag since its a 2.5 hour flight.
The room was warm but the aircon was great and it was quiet too.
Positives: Bed was comfortable, shower was great, linen was amazing. Room beautifully decorated and furnished. Free water, tea, coffee, milk was good. Location is handy - probably a brisk 15 minute walk to the main shopping area and on the edge of what I think was Chinatown

Dear Fidelma B Thank you for your valuable feedback. Regarding upper level rooms, we have plenty on the top 2 levels that may be more suitable for you, however these are King Premium and King Deluxe rooms so I would recommend opting for one of these on your next visit. Our Queen rooms are all located on the lower 2 levels of the building and we did our best to accommodate your needs as a business traveller according to the room type which was booked, especially as were fully booked during your stay. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed the room and its facilities. Kind regards Caroline West Hotel Manager

Our family of 3 stayed at The Nest from 20/9 for 4 nights. The taxi driver managed to find the hotel without any problem. Let me summarize it in a point form for easy reference.
1. Checked-in was a breeze. Even though I had a little problem with my credit card, the staff, Ralph, was very patient & helped me out in every way possible.
2. I booked King Deluxe room. Big enough to add a rollaway bed for my daughter. I love the patio, where you can have your meal there.
3. The room is decorated with a touch of luxury, but nice. Comfortable king size bed ^_^
4. The bathroom includes a shower, which we prefer compared to a bath tub. And the toilettries smelled nice too.
5. The location is great. Just a stone's throw away from a CAT bus stop in Aberdeen Street, surrounded by enormous restaurants & cafes.
6. Since the hotel is small, it gives them advantage to serve its customers attentively. By the way, the lift has funky design ^_^
7. The rooftop on the 3rd floor is awesome, overlooking the skyscraper in the city. It's peaceful and you will find calm when you are there.
8. The staff at the reception every morning when we were there, is very friendly & helpful. It's a shame I don't remember her name. It could be Katherine or Christine #sigh
9. There was a nespresso machine, an iPad/iPod dock, mini fridge & flat screen tv for your entertainment. The wifi signal worked excellent for us.
I have only one complain for The Nest, which I think they should take it seriously. When we left our room to be cleaned on our second day, the housekeeping didn't lock back the room. The door wasn't wide opened, but a doorstopper was placed instead. We were shocked when we went to our room later in the evening. With just a soft push, the door can be opened. Luckily, nothing was missing. The Nest, please look into this matter seriously.
Last but not least, I would highly recommend The Nest if you need a hotel which are not in the busy city area. Should we visit Perth again, we will definitely stay at The Nest.

Quirky, modern boutique, well appointed rooms with luxury linen and each room decorated differently. I asked to see unoccupied rooms to see the different styles. :)
Coffee pod machine in each room - this was a lovely unexpected treat.
The rooftop beer garden area is surprisingly quiet and rustic with quirky art, funky seating and nice views.
Located in the proximity of really great bars, restaurants and clubs - if that's your scene.
Well hidden for privacy, but hard to find if you're not looking for it. Secure, quiet and the staff are so helpful and friendly.

We booked my daughter in for a week, but found there was no mobile reception in her room which she required as on call at work. We made 3 calls over 12 hours to the hotel number asking for an upgrade to a room with reception (which we were prepared to pay for). Each time we were told they would get back to us, but there was no response by midday, the day following booking in so had to leave and find other accommodation. That afternoon, over 24 hours after checking in they came back to us agreeing that there was 'poor'reception' and offering an upgarde. We could not do that as had already moved but the hotel refused any refund.
So....extremely poor customer service and lack of reception in some rooms which is totally unacceptable.

The service is crumby. Also I was fine with $40 taken from the bond due to a small amount of eyeliner left in towel. Unreliable and not worth the money spent. STAY ANY WHERE ELS PEOPLE the place is not even clean. Crumbs under the bed all the coffee pods gone almost as if staff spend time in the rooms.

Walking distance to tons of restaurants and the FREE BUS (the one with the cat on it) Will take you within the city of Perth INCLUDING King's Park and the boats on the River. The rooftop terrace was so charming...and even taking the elevator in the hotel had a touch of whimsy. LOVED IT!

I booked this hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews and wasn't disappointed. The Nest is a great little hotel in the Northbridge area of the city. This was my first trip to Perth on business and needed somewhere handy to both a customer and the city. A lot of care has been taken putting this hotel and it shows in the choice of finishes and decor. The Nest had everything you need for a comfortable stay - super comfortable bed, desk to work, ironing, tea and coffee pod machine and quality flat screen TV. The bathroom and toiletries were also spot on. What really set the place apart though was the friendly and helpful front desk staff.
The only thing I could fault was the wifi was on the fritz when I stayed and Washing Lane (which my room backed onto) was a bit noisy at times but I'm used to dead quiet at night.

I stayed here on a business trip and this hotel isn't up to it. I'm not sure what this place is meant to be it reminded me of a slightly poshed up service apartment, without the service.
Bad:
* The safe isn't bolted in - someone could just carry it away.
* The safe didn't work.
* There's no extra lock or chain on the door.
* It smells of renovations, I got a headache.
* There is no breakfast option without leaving the hotel. The "charge back" system doesn't work.
* There is no hotel restaurant with room-service. Again the "charge back" system doesn't work.
* There is no minibar of snacks of any kind.
* The noise, banging and music from the street is disturbing if you try to go to bed early.
* The bragged about rooftop, not only don't have a bar but you can't even bring anything with you out on it.
* The room 'balcony' has standing room only with no view.
* The AC is locked, so that although you appear to change it, it remains at what it was set at when you came in. It got too warm for me.
* Only 1 coffee pod provided.
* The wifi is so bad you can't Skype/FaceTime without dropout. Forget about working from here...
Oh and in spite of leaving card details for booking and paying in full on arrival (using a machine) and $200 on top of that they demand you handwrite the credit card details on a piece of paper with all the details needed for credit card fraud. Plus there's a long T&C you have to sign.
Because it's new and the the small sign, no taxi can find it. I waited for over an hour before I had to walk out on the street for them to find me.
Good:
The location
The bathroom/shower was lovely
I wouldn't stay here again because of the lack of a working / bolted safe, the renovation smells, taxis not finding it, the terrible wi-fi and the check in with having to leave my credit card details handwritten in a way that leaves it open to be used/stolen by anyone that find the scrap of paper left just behind the desk.

Was horrible. We were in room 1 and the reception phone rang alll night long and kept us up. An alarm kept going off. And to top it off, we used 2 of the white towels and because they had the tiniest smudge on them they charged us $34 for the two photos below! Wth!
Would not recommend. And if you do, I suggest you take your own bloody towels because the smallest smudge will cost you $34 bloody dollars.

Stayed at the hotel for a night during our family holiday in Perth. I like the location of the hotel, close to all the shopping areas (eg. Hay St, Murray St Malls etc.) but yet "not too close" to allow some peace and quiet for a good night sleep.
Being newly opened, the hotel is nice, clean and very comfy. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
It is an added bonus that there are various eating options available within walking distance. In particular, my family enjoyed the delicious food at the Tuck Shop Cafe located about 20 steps away from the hotel.
For those who prefers getting foodstuff from the supermarket, there is an IGA Outlet nearby as well.
In summary, we enjoyed our stay there.

Dear Wcci from Malaysia,
We are under new Management and the Old Crow restaurant will soon operate for breakfast which will be extra charge. And as Emma B kindly said, there is also The Tuck Shop cafe which is just a few metres outside the hotel for delicious breakfast.
