This hostel has so much potential. Yet one receptionist nearly ruins it. The lady with glasses on Sunday mornings is beyond rude. An absolute misery. Greeted me recently with 'what?' as I went to speak to reception to extend. Also nothing is safe in the kitchen. I've had countless things go for a walk. And the system for cutlery/plates isn't...

It's not fair to blame the hostel when food items are stolen. It's not the hostel staff but the other backpackers that are doing it. As a hostel we have procedures in place to stop this happening. All guests are told to put all food items in a bag and to lock it with a padlock. But guests do not...

I had heard a few bad things after booking here, not sure why though as we had a great time here. This place is certainly for backpackers but it isn't as noisy as made out. The rooms are good, ours did have a funny smell but I think that was the other guy in our dorm. Noise off at 11...

Booked a double room through Hostelworld but was given a deluxe double room as told by the receptionist. How lucky we were. The room was spacious and facing the pool. It would be quite noisy at night but that was the normal practice of a backpacker. The kitchen was large enough for some twenty people to prepare meals at a...

I arrived and was greeted by "Vic" I have never met someone so rude in my life! He clearly should not be in a customer facing role as his attitude stinks, he spoke to me like I was back in school! Awful way to start my holiday as I was nervous enough travelling on my own. Was told the rules...

This review is just not true. Vic has worked here many years and does a great job. Another staff member was present at the time this guest checked in and can verify that what has been said never happaned. It's obviously a personal attack to my staff member and is not acceptable. As for being strict we have rules so...

Booked 7 nights at this hostel as I had heard good things about it. Left after 4 nights as it was pretty boring. Wifi didn't work, and the place was pretty loud a lot of the time. Also had people stealing our stuff out of the fridges. Wouldn't recommend.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. We do our best to keep the noise down. After 11pm we close the outdoor area and we expect the guests to be quiet and respect the other guests. In past years it was open to 2am so the new closing times have helped a lot with those problem guests. As for the kitchen...

We don't think of the Billabong as a party hostel but we are a backpackers and we will always have guests that want to party and enjoy their visit to Perth in that way. Even though we can have up to 200 people stay here it's usually just a small group that want to party. We feel we cater for...

Great place for the money. I arrived the Thursday and my money was not yet available in my account and what i had was almost depleted from my trips to Brisbane and Melbourne, explained this to staff and they happily worked with me to charged my account the next day, unfortunately I was checking out that night. Great location and...

I booked into a double room. I had my own bathroom, a balcony and air-conditioning although I think this is standard for each room. There's a good size pool out the back and its only a short walk from the cbd and from Highgate where there's loads of restaurants, bars and shops. I stayed for 4 nights and got the...
