Nestled on the waterfront, DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront is often celebrated for its prime location, which offers both convenience for city exploration and stunning river views, as noted by many guests. The hotel’s rooms are commended for their comfort, cleanliness, and vistas, although some visitors have encountered issues with reservations and service.
While the rooftop bar and hotel amenities receive high marks from reviewers, the atmosphere can be dampened by noise and mixed experiences at the bar. Despite praise for the helpful staff, service inconsistencies and unexpected costs have impacted the perceived value for some travelers.

Very comfortable room, upgrade for a small fee. Late check out much appreciated as had a zoom business meeting- thanks Sascha and Brian. New hotel, fantastic location, great facilities, beautiful infinity pool, heated but no time to swim. Will stay again soon.

Stayed for 4 days from Jan 1st.
Previously read reviews re a couple of issue are still occurring.
1. Check your billing account. Random over charges and extra dining charges dod appear on our account. Staff even queried if they were ours when checking out which says to me they know they have an issue. I suspect new staff may be the problem not purpose fuelled bill ramping.
2. Noise, yes the river facing rooms can hear the music from the lucky shag nextdoor. Not so bad and loud surprising on the Saturday but the Sunday session was banging 🤣. Nothing the hotel can do about this from their end so be warned when checking in and room selecting.
3. Drinks, if your not happy send it back, drink quality was hit and miss, this seemed to be an issue on the rooftop bar. Managers are working before bar staff start and are clearly not trained bartenders. I ordered an old fashioned and when the manager handed it to me he stood staring at me taking my first sip almost wanting reassuring it was ok. I informed him the syrup was not right and he then said he would remake, a whisky was sent out to me to complimentary whilst I waited 15 mins for the original drink to be remade and delivered.
The manager admitted he ran out of some of the drinks ingredients but they now had them on hand.
I understand this is a new hotel but when the drinks are the most expensive in the precinct including higher than the Ritz Carlton next door they should be on point. No manager should be sending out drinks half made knowingly.
4. Check In
Like previously advised on other reviews it was an hour before we gained access to the room. If you can, dont attend at 3pm with every other person trying to check in at the same time. 2 service desks and limited cleaning staff mean you will wait.
We saw a manager when we finally gained access to the room, watching over 2 cleaning ladies and radioing to the front desk a room would be ready in 30 seconds. Cleaning due covid requirements I suspect is taking longer which is good to see. Unless more cleaning staff are put on these delays will continue.
Overall, great location, good breakfast selection. Beds are quite form but still comfortable.
As a Perth resident who lives quite close to the city I would go back.

We recently visited for a little staycation to celebrate my wife’s birthday. It was our first stay here, and certainly won’t be our last.
We were completely blown away by the warm, friendly staff, the fresh, gleaming new facilities, superb location and beautifully appointed room.
We were very fortunate to be allocated a King Deluxe room on the Eastern side of the hotel. The room was huge, with view toward to city on one side, and panoramic views out to the Swan River on the other.
Aside from the views, other standout room features included the king bed, which was lush and luxurious and the large standalone bathtub with a beautiful panoramic window where you can watch the world go by as you soak and relax (with a glass of bubbly) 😊. If you don’t have time for a bath, the rain shower is a nice alternative.
The hotel features a rooftop pool and deck overlooking the river. Unfortunately it was a little but too chilly to swim on the day we were there, but even if you’re not swimming, it’s a lovely spot to relax and catch the sunset or sunrise. If you’re feeling energetic, the gym is well equipped with cardio machines and free weights and is accessible 24 hours.
The rooftop bar is a must visit. They have an excellent way to help keep people warm on these chilly Perth nights -mulled wine! The perfect accompaniment as you stand on the open air deck and take in the views of the city and Swan River from the 18th floor.
The buffet breakfast is delicious with a nice selection of continental and cooked options. There is a small supplement for Diamond Honors Members to upgrade from the continental breakfast but it is more than worth it. We really enjoyed the crunchy hash browns, fresh fruit and apricot pastries. Once again the hotel makes the most of its location with guests able to take in the serene river views over brekky.
As noted by other reviewers, parking is fairly scarce although that’s not unusual for Perth CBD hotels. Discounted parking is available at the nearby CPP Terrace Road car park for $24 per 24 hours.
The waterfront location is just brilliant. Next to the (in)famous Bell Tower, Elizabeth Quay and close to public transport and city shopping. The riverside walkways near the hotel are lovely and if you wake up early you might see one of Perth’s spectacular sunrises.
Overall, this hotel is a fantastic new option for Perth and is highly recommended.
Our sincere thanks to everyone at Doubletree by Hilton Perth Waterfront for an amazing stay. We look forward to returning soon.

We originally made a booking for the Crown casino hotel but cancelled it in favour of the Doubletree and we were so glad we did.
We arrived at 1.00am after a 24 hrs travelling and was warmly greeted by Sahar. He informed us we’d been upgraded and the view of the harbour from our room was amazing. We were also given a bottle of fizz and truffles with a lovely note congratulating my husband on his big birthday. These touches made extremely weary travellers very very happy so thank you Doubletree.
The hotel location suited our needs perfectly with an easy walk to the CBD/Kings Park as well as being on the doorstep to the ferry and train station.
The room was so well thought out and really practical. I loved that the bathroom had a subtle floor night light too - something every hotel should have.
The room was really well sound proofed with no noise whatsoever from lifts/neighbouring doors slamming etc.
We had the buffet breakfast included with our room and it offered a very good selection of food. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been barista made coffee as opposed to help yourself machine coffee.
We had drinks and food in 18 knots skybar and the cocktails were great. We also had a lovely pool day and although the cocktail menu at the pool is limited they do a good lime daiquiri!
We know changing our booking to the Doubletree Waterfront was the right thing to do. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it to anyone visiting Perth.

After its opening 5 days ago, I visited the rooftop bar on 20-Dec-20. I don’t write reviews ever (good or bad) but this needed to be said because it was the worst experience of my life
We arrived at 12:10pm (10mins after their opening service at 12pm). Half of the cocktails on the list were not available due to lack of liquor. We were also told several cocktails can’t be ordered because the bartender ‘wasn’t ready’ in terms of experience
Waited 1.5 hour for drinks & there were only 20 max patrons in the bar. Whilst waiting for an hour, we sat on the couch facing Perth’s Swan River......surrounded by broken glass & leftover food from patrons the night before. We had to request for “cleaning” which was something the hotel should have done in this Covid environment
Used up Chewing Gum 🤢 were stuck across cushions on the couch. Thorough cleaning is clearly not a priority here because our skirts & luxury bags were stained from just sitting down - we didn’t noticed the sauce & gum covered/hidden by the cushions. So there goes the expensive bag just from sitting down at 18KnotsRooftop’s couch. No compensation was given although I spoke to the bar manager & I was told to “ice” my bag
Gave up & moved to another table. The table and chair outside was super oily. Again, it’s pretty obvious the tables & chairs weren’t wiped down after service the night before. Can the hotel be any more slack in terms of cleanliness?
Cleanliness at the bar was not maintained (not even 1%) so im not sure how clean your bedrooms are. Definitely not sleeping or eating here. For those of you who were considering, spend the extra money and dine/stay at Crown Towers.

Booked the King Deluxe room for 2 adults and our 7 year old.
* beautiful, modern rooms in both the waterfront and Northbridge hotels (better views here)
* buffet breakfast good value and tasty, with a nice view and warm, friendly staff
* stunning bathroom with big bathtub overlooking the swan and city- spectacular place to relax
* rooftop bar a real winner and we had a drink here every night
* hotel probably needs an option for family rooms with two double or queen beds
* in room TV channels only included free to air. Needed some sports or movie channels
* small pool but would be a great place to hangout in the summer with a large bar, lounge area

My wife and I stayed as a birthday gift from our family. As a long time Honours member I’ve stayed in many Doubletrees and Hilton’s and this one ticks all the usual boxes. Friendly staff, good room, great bed, perfect location and reasonable rates. The river views are perfect and walking to anywhere in the CBD from here is easy.
However, just a couple of constructive comments if I may :
1. The light switches in the room do seem fairly difficult to operate and a bit hit and miss as per other comments.
2. The restaurant location is perfect with panoramic views of the river, but why only one little coffee machine in a small alcove of the restaurant that gets jammed in busy times. In all other Doubletrees, the staff serve filter coffee to guests at their table.
3. The serving process in the hot food area of having to lift lids off the pans while serving your food on to the plate is cumbersome. The space is so tight there’s no where to put the lid while you’re holding your plate with one hand and serving with the other.
Overall a super place that offers good value with a perfect location. We will be back guys, especially if you do something about the coffee service. Thank you for a great weekend.

With our 53rd anniversary approaching and a trip to Opera in the Park planned we booked a 2 night stay here as a special treat. We were not to be disappointed. Breakfast does not come as standard and I recommend adding it as an extra. Our room was on the corner on the 9th floor so we overlooked the Belltower on one side and the Supreme Court Gardens on the other (already laid out for the Opera). The room is reasonable in size with a King sized bed and comfy mattress. I have read other reviews about the noise from the Lucky Shag but being on the front of the hotel this was not an issue. We used the 18th floor bar a couple of times, on the first occasion the air con was set so low it was positively icy inside so we opted to go outside instead to warm up. On a slightly negative note, there were no staff to be seen when we arrived for breakfast so we stood around like rather spare parts. Eventually a member of staff found us but aside from asking our room number no other advice was offered. Not so the following day when guests arriving were treated to a tour of the breakfast buffet by attentive staff. Breakfast was tasty but nothing outstanding, I have had better. Finally, where is the toilet brush! It's such an essential part of bathroom equipment.

We visited for one night after having our marriage ceremony in the city that day. Check in was good but I had requested a high floor level room and was given a room on the 5th floor. When I was asked if the room was OK I asked if there was any higher level rooms available but was told there wasn't.
The staff delivered a bottle of champagne to our room so that was a big tick for customer service.
The room itself was good apart from the fact it was over the "lucky shag" bar and the sound proofing was not great... we could even hear the sound of people talking from in our room.
Air conditioning in the room also seemed very dodgy and I had to call staff to reset it. I was told it only works when temp is set to fahrenheit which seemed odd. It worked a bit better after the reset but still wasn't great.
One of our towels had a hole in it and the robes were clearly a bit worn. Considering this is a new hotel we were a bit taken aback by this.
Parking is off site so you need to park at cpp and walk about 2 min to the hotel which makes check in and out a bit tedious.
Lastly there was no water in the room or fridge. When I asked staff about it they confirmed water is not complimentary but they sent up two bottles for free as a gesture. It was 40 degrees outside and with air conditioner that was not working well it seemed bad policy not to even have a jug of cold water in the fridge.
The pool was nice but quite small and the view was spoilt a bit by the framed glass around it which was dirty.
To be clear the staff here are great, they are friendly and attentive but we were left feeling a bit let down by the facilities and the room itself. When paying $350 a night we would usually expect a bit more than this.

The hotel is brand new and as such, it has the inevitable pros and cons.
The hotel is beautifully pristine although there are some interesting functionality choices (e.g. There is nothing to place shampoo, etc, on in the shower. The floor must be used.).
The location is excellent. The hotel is located in the newly redeveloped tourist section of Perth and is a short walk to the CBD.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Kai was especially proactive in attending to some issues including changing me to a quieter room. I had a waterfront room on the 13th floor and it was extremely noisey. Kai moved me to a city view room which solved the problem. By way of apology, I was given a bottle of wine, which was a nice touch.
The rooftop bar offers panoramic views of the city and river, and it's possible to sit inside or outside.
The infinity pool has spectacular views of the river.
The gym is poor: only one machine that 'stuck' at times; no weights...
Teething problems: My bill was incorrect as I was charged twice for an item; My room was serviced when the 'no service' light was on and not serviced when the 'service' light was on. On one occasion staff knocked on my door to add a metal cover to the tissues???
Overall, given the room price and the Hilton (Double Tree) name, the stay was of average standard.

Hi,
Pretty sure they do an in room service - you set the items aside, list them. The cleaners will collect, take for cleaning & return to your room later / next day (at cost of course).
Best to call / confirm with the concierge to be sure.
Cheers
Due to the physical layout of m6 specific room, there was no option of a connecting room.
From memory, the pool opened early, as one morning there were people in the pool before I went to breakfast. I think it closes early in the evening which I thought was odd on the 40C day that I visited. Just when yo7 need to cool off. But check with the hotel.
Yes there is now a lot of seating at the pool area, and plenty of large umbrellas for shade (no umbrellas inside pool enclosure). However at this time of year there is a lot more natural shade over the pool than when you asked this question in January .
