Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This apartment was disgraceful! The level of dust & dirt was appalling. Revolting facilities with furnishings that belonged in a third world country! Totally unacceptable for the price we paid. We were even charged an additional $30 for an early check-in to the worst accommodation we have ever experienced. The other patrons were completely disrespectful by yelling & banging around the apartments all night long, we felt unsafe & there was no staff or security on site to assist with this & no after hours phone number. This place should NOT take paying patrons. DO NOT STAY HERE.

We stayed for a few nights in early January, When we arrived (after hours) there was a pile of food in box'es in front of our door, obviously the clean up from the people before us. Anyhow we grinned and bared it, used our own linen and pillows, and left the room a lot cleaner when we left than it was on arrival.
Since my stay the owner/manager (JOHN) has told me they won't return my $150 bond as we had been smoking in the room, even though neither my wife or I smoke. John the owner/manager (rude, obnoxious, condescending pri*#) told me that I needed to prove it wasn't us that smoked in the room, well how the hell am I supposed to do that? Now after reading other reviews I see its a common theme for them to try and withhold the bond,
Would love to hear from others with the same issues. don@derbybus.com.au

Rooms are terrible quality and the customer service is terrible!
Owner will also try and take a $150 bond off you for smoking in the room even if you haven’t or other amounts of money as I have seen from other peoples reviews.
I wish I read the reviews more before staying here because it seems I’m not the only one to lose my bond over false accusations!
Check the other reviews before booking here and you will understand what I mean about the cleanliness of the rooms, customer service and bond issues.
If anyone else has had bond issues please email me bannister.787@hotmail.com I would love to also hear about your experience.

We booked the two bedroom apartment for the three of us (My husband and I, and my mother) at very short notice when my father was suddenly hospitalised for emergency surgery at Royal Perth Hospital while the 4 of use were on holidays in WA. The apartment was neat, clean, simple, comfortable, and perfect for us. Having laundry facilities (washer, dryer and clothes horse) in the apartment itself was so very helpful. We found the manager (Eddie) very friendly, helpful and responsive to our needs and enquiries. We stayed 5 nights while my father recovered after surgery, and my husband even got a chance to relax in the pool. The location was excellent for the Green and Yellow Cat (free buses) into Perth city, and there was a nice little Thai restaurant a few doors down too. Parking was also easy. All of us would certainly stay there again, and would certainly recommend it to others.

So my friends were coming up from down south and we thought it would be a good idea to find somewhere non-expensive to stay.

Against our better judgment after reading several really bad reviews, we booked a room with a ‘it can’t really be that bad’ attitude.

When we arrived we parked our car and the moment we opened the door to the hotel we started getting abused by people who were clearly all high on drugs , yelling and screaming.

Apart from the constant abuse on the way to our room the smell of this hotel is like 1000 rothman reds.

In entering our room we were also greeted with a toilet that didn’t flush, a couch that was snapped in half and felt like it snapped more and more every time you sat down, two lights that wouldn’t turn on, an electrical socket that was dangling from the wall.

All the cups and cutlery were filthy and not cleaned. There was someone else’s hairs on the beds.

Honestly the whole experience was laughable.

Everyone ended up leaving the hotel before the night was through and scrambling to different houses to stay.

And if you think it’s only for one night it won’t be that bad you are so very wrong

DO NOT GO HERE

Unless you like the sound of crack heads screaming and yelling at each other , random people knocking on your door yelling for a ‘good time’.

I am traumatised I mean honestly pay the extra $50-100$ to get somewhere half decent because what I just experienced was traumatic.

:,)

As we has stayed here before we felt the room we had was in need of a good clean paint and upgrade .Why should anyone have to lift a microwave from the top of a fridge freezer to be able to use it ,i can see some innocent person try it and seriously hurt themselves ,not acceptable ! .Also to wash up dishes as there are no sink plugs i was told by the manager to rinse them wash them and rinse again all this time precious water is being run off,not good for the limited amount of water Australia has ?.How does a person have a wet shave with no plug for the sink in the bathroom ,pass .When we arrived the room smelt stale and musty so were bought air freshener and squirted that around .We thought there should have been dinner plates available but all there we were side plates so we got some large plastic plates to eat off instead of two side plates .On the plus the location is good .

Absolutely the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. Piles of rubbish and dirty linen in corridors as we were walking to our room. Room smelt of cigarettes when we walked in. No globe in bedside lamps. No top sheet on beds. Didn't see any coloured doona covers in the pile of dirty linen outside our door and doubt the covers would be washed after each use. Thumping and banging from floor above us. Told by another patron in lift that there was a party happening on the floor above. Fire alarm went off at 2.50am, as we went to evacuate our room an announcement told us it was a false alarm. When we checked out at 9.30 next morning the same rubbish and dirty linen was still outside our room and in other corridors. Our $150 bond was returned when we checked out but 2 days later our account was charged $150. When we enquired what this was for we were told they have evidence that we smoked in the room. We do not smoke and never have. I demanded a refund and was told they would need to discuss this with their colleague. I called again the same day and told them I would take to the media and plaster it on Facebook and only then did they refund the $150 and I was told they do not want to hear any more about it, but people need to know what this disgusting place is doing. I would rather sleep in the bush, it would be cleaner and quieter. STAY AWAY

This was hands down the worst "hotel" i have ever had the displeasure of staying at. The room was disgusting and stunk of smoke, the place was a shambles, falling apart, there were holes in the carpet and windows were broken. The people that live (?) here were rude and honestly made me and my partner feel unsafe during our stay. When we tried to raise issues with staff the manager- a rude young woman (Julia) told us we were lying and refused to come and view the issues herself. Do yourself a favour and stay well away!!!
I honestly hope they get shut down soon because it is a massive scam.

My family and I stayed at the Perth Mercure hotel and upon check in were told there was a bond for the room. We paid cash for the room and then was told if paying cash for bond it would be $100 dollars and $500 on card. We chose to pay cash. We were then told we still need to give our card so we did. After the transaction we were told a statement would be sent to our email. When we checked out we stated there wasn't a statement sent to us for our stay and how long before the return of our bond seeing as we paid cash. We were told 3 weeks. Wow we thought and carried on. 3 weeks later we called and asked what the go was as we never received bond not a statement and stated about the price of bond and what we were told as far as the price goes for card or cash. Because there was never a statement in the first place there was no record of a cash bond. In saying that we were then told that it was the other way around that is was $500 for cash to be paid on the bond and $100 for card. We were told something totally different. Because there was never a statement there is no trace of a bond paid in cash and are now out of $100. In final I was told that the employee had been working there for some time and would have never told us $100 bond and because there was no trace of it there would be no refund. Ultimately we were liars because the bond for cash in the hotel's procedure isn't the amount we paid and there was no trace of that payment being made in the first place. Won't be staying there again and will make sure to pay by card to avoid people making money off of my family and I. What a shame
