The Ramada is situated in a beautiful location right off the Scarborough beach, many restaurants and stores are within a short walking distance as well as the Scarborough Sunset Markets on Thursday evenings. The CBD is about a 30 minute bus ride away with a bus stop just opposite the hotel.

The rooms appeared to be quite tidy for the most part, we did have some issues with the cleaning staff damaging one of our phone chargers (see photo) but the reception did end up refunding some of the cost to cover a replacement. We also noticed their was a loose/ dirty screw that was left on our bathroom floor our entire stay. On one of our days it did also look like we had been given a ?lipstick? stained quilt for our bedding. Other than that it was a beautiful stay and I would happily return back in the future.

We love the Scarborough area for restaurants and beach sunsets but getting a sunset view from your room is not guaranteed. The full kitchen is lovely but no dishwasher and they obviously dont expect you to wash dishes every meal although they only provide 2 of each utensil. Very helpful with requests for more towels etc free parking is great.

On arrival the lift to our room was not working. We had LOTS of luggage and the inexperienced receptionist was giving false info re lifts & expected us to walk down two flights of stairs with luggage which we refused to do. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom on floor 3. I kept asking for a beach view for my 70th birthday & on the 3rd day we were upgraded to a 3 bedroom corner room with FANTASTIC. BEACh views. Only a limited number of rooms have beach views so book early & request.
I have been trying for ages to book a room at this hotel so to be mucked around with the lifts on more than one occasion was very disappointing. Sometimes the lift would not work to bring you up from the carpark! First night we had dinner after 10pm.
It is in easy walking distance to the beach, Coles, PO, pharmacy & Dominos is downstairs.
Perhaps more regular maintenance of lifts should occur.

Returning to this hotel after 4 years was extremely disappointing. Three bedroom apartment is advertised as aircon climate controlled but in fact the bedrooms other than the master are hot boxes if like us you want the door closed when you sleep. There is a fan provided in these bedrooms but hardly climate control advertised.

The master bedroom was the only room where the king bed could be divided into 2 singles which is ridiculous, clearly any family travelling with kids would want the king bed in the other room to be the one to be divided. Not sure why anyone would think that in a so called family room the parents would want to give up the master suite to accomodate 2 kids and then go sleep in the smaller room without an ensuite but that was the only solution offered by staff. Other than making up the couch as an alternative bed thereby taking up the living space, reducing ability to use this area after kids have gone to sleep and then having the person in that room waking up with the birds because there were only sheer blinds.

Also what is the thought about having an ensuite bathroom with a double doorway and no door??? It makes it impossible to use the bathroom in the middle of the night without waking your partner because of the light and noise. But also who likes the idea of bathroom smells wafting around your bedroom? We asked to be changed to a room with an actual bathroom doorway and was told none of the 3 bedroom apartments have this. We were also told that this was regularly a source of complaint to which I asked then why don’t they put a door on it??

And as for the gym, even if you can find it there were a few bits of equipment one of them in pieces so don’t bother.

Finally guest services was clearly an aspirational title given the total lack of attention. Out of our 5 day stay we were constantly having to ask for basics like enough towels for the guests, bedding for one of the beds which didn’t arrive until our last day despite asking every day, house cleaning which was beyond basic with our apartment on arrival looking like it needed a good clean and reception staff who have potentially think Fawlty Towers is gold standard. Honestly hugely disappointing.

It might be ok if you are only looking for a place to sleep. For a special occasion, look elsewhere. I told them at booking that this was a special weekend for my daughter's birthday, but I was told ocean view rooms would be allocated at check-in. I checked in early but there were no good rooms left because of "maintenance issues". The hotel must have some good rooms, but the two allocated to me were terrible - one room with no windows at all, forget about ocean view! The other was a view of a shopping center parking lot. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had to spend a lot of time on the phone with the agent but by the time they discussed with the hotel my refund was processed almost immediately. Thanks for trying to fix it but rather be honest with the client and charge according to the room. That one without windows shouldn't even be called a room - make it available for free to store luggage or something, whatever, just never try to dump a paying guest in it again!

Booked 2 bedroom apartment (1 queen bed and 2 singles). Emailed prior to query parking and was told no problem, just turn up and pay $15 at reception for a parking bay. Arrived and asked about parking to be told they had been busy and there were no bays available. I asked where we were meant to park, since I had been told it wouldn’t be a problem, and was directed to park in visitor bays. There was also no empty visitor bays so we had to park further away up the street. Went up to room and neither of the two room keys worked, so returned to reception to get them fixed. Finally accessed the room and now hurrying to get ready for a function we were attending, we noticed we were given three towels for four people. Tried to call reception several times but no one answered.
Had to go back down to reception to ask for a towel.
Advertising has lovely decor additions such as cushions and decorative touches - room was devoid of all of these; we found one of the towels in the wardrobe. No spare blankets and cleaning wasn’t great - there were squashed bugs on the wall, windows were filthy inside and out, there was a nail clipping on the carpet, etc. photos also suggested a TV in the bedroom; this was not the case.
The worst part was that there was no queen bed - it was a double… not what was advertised and not what we paid for (and it wasn’t the cheapest room in Perth). Very poor sleep as a result; I have a back problem and the smaller bed made it quite uncomfortable to find the right sleeping position with two of us in it!
It felt like we were in a budget room, not a prestigious hotel.

Booked a room at the Scarborough beach hotel, the rooms are facing away from the beach and Ramada shares the building with other tenants.
There is only one lift in the building and it took us 15 mins to get down as the lift was full all the time.
The car park lifts do not come to the room And you have to take your luggage come to reception and then transfer to another lift.
The room itself is not great for a new resort

Hotel was shabby for how new it it is,
First of all the room stank of cigarette smoke from the resident who was housed next door, the smell kept wafting underneath the door into our room, despite him being told numerous times he wasn’t allowed to smoke in there, they seemed to just ignore it.
We lifted back the pillowcases and we found mould in them. The curtain pull rod was broken and just sitting on the window ledge , the drawers in the cupboard are cheap ikea type which just were broken, there was visible mould on the white silicon In the bathroom , the air vents in the bathroom was filthy and grimy to the point when you had a shower it would fly off and stick to the door from the steam, the tv had a poor little set top box that didn’t really do much , the hot water lasted about 5 minutes. We stayed one night out of 7 in that room and asked for a different room which was better but only just , same dirty air vents and broken draws, thankfully no mould on the pillows this time round, staff were kind and apologetic about it however, signs on lift said did not need to use swipe card up until 7 pm which was not the case.( not that it matters to much ) guest laundry washers were full of staff cleaning cloths and not emptied . They did leave us a bottle of wine probably to bribe us as to not leave a bad review.
The beds were fairly comfortable despite the other issues. But I do think they need to lift there game in the cleanliness area as it was below average for a modern hotel of this type.
Especially in Covid times.
I’m not saying it was horrendous but stay here at your own peril.

We booked for a family of four with Ramada in December last year. When getting to the room we noticed that they had made a mistake and there was only one bed. By the time i got back down to reception they had closed so i rang the after hours number and was told to wait while they organized someone to come and sort the extra bed. After 45min of waiting outside the reception i then rang the after hours number again and was told to wait in my room and someone will be down to sort it out. So at 11:30pm i went back down stairs to call the after hours number again where i was told that sorry no-one was coming to organize the extra bed. As you can imagine I was tired and frustrated with the situation. I ended up having to sleep on the couch while my family were in a double bed. The next morning Ramada receptionist were very apologetic and said that i would be getting a refund due to the fact that they didn't provide what was paid for. I was contacted by the Executive manager via email but they still haven't provided a refund of any amount !! For a company of this size its embarrassing for Ramada to behave in this manner to their customers and even worse for their Executive manager to make promises under false pretenses.

The room was faultless except for the view. The room size was quite big and very clean. The location of the hotel was in the centre of Scarborough and about a 5 min walk to the beach. The wifi was fast and had great facilities such as a gym. I was extremely disappointed after letting the hotel know on multiple occasions I was there for my birthday and that I had requested an Ocean View room. I had paid a little more and rang up the hotel pre-arrival. The communication between the hotel pre-arrival was shocking I emailed the hotel via Bookings and no response. I then rang up before my arrival asking if they had an Ocean View and was told there was a partial ocean view or I could wait for one to be available. I checked In and amazingly enough, they didn't have any ocean views at all they didn't bother even holding the partial one for me either. I have worked in hotels before and know what you can and can't do for guests and understand that some things are out of your control but I did let the hotel know on numerous occasions as this was the main purpose of my stay for my birthday to get an ocean view. I would have just stayed at the Rendezvous with a guaranteed ocean view for an extra $20 if I knew this was how it turned out. I didn't come to Scarborough to look at a carpark and main road. Upon check-out, the receptionist was rude no greeting or "how was your stay" and after asking for a tax invoice for my stay I was told no because I booked using Bookings...... I have never had this problem before at any hotel across many different chains...... Very disappointing as the basics were lacking such as customer service and communication.
