The InterContinental Perth City Centre is often praised for its inviting atmosphere and well-appointed rooms that boast comfort, style, and spotless conditions. While the hotel's location in the heart of Perth's CBD is a highlight for its convenience to local attractions, some guests feel that the value is lessened by high additional charges and pricey dining.
Despite occasional service hiccups, the friendly and attentive staff, alongside quality amenities like a praised breakfast and comfortable beds, contribute to a welcoming stay for many travelers.

A nice hotel but not up there with Sydney or Adelaide we think. Lovely staff. Both the bar and restaurant we felt were below standard (seperate reviews) for the IHG. Certainly not poor….just not great. The room was very quiet which is a plus. A nice corner room. It was also dark in the morning which is good while on holiday. It’s a bloody nuisance to have to ask each day for a room to be made up. Turning on the outside notification was useless so it was a manual operation each day to ask for a room to be made up. Ahhh it’s 2025 and it’s a top class hotel. And we were not aware we had a bar fridge either! We clearly didn’t look properly. But shouldn’t all this be pointed out by the front desk at check in? The bed was good and the room ok but certainly not large. They quoted us $90 for breakfast (for two) so the Belgian Beer hotel about 100m away did an excellent one for $40. I don’t love being taken as a soft touch. It was fine. But we get a much better deal at IHG Sydney (fantastic) or Adelaide.

We redeemed and stayed in a king room. Room is nicely renovated, very spacious and with many useful n practical features like shelvings and usb ports 👍 Then we met John Messiha when checking out. We told him our son is coming to stay the following week with his wife and baby, their first family trip. So we wanted to know if the king or twin room is a bit more spacious cos they need to add a cot. John smiled, checked and said he wants to do something for them ! They are there now, upgraded to a super spacious corner room …. almost a suite I think :D What a pleasant surprise ! Very kind indeed !

Friendly reception and check in Situated close to all amenities in CBD and Elizabeth Quays areas Rooms were exceptionally well appointed. Including coffee tea making facilities, sustainable shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Lovely big fluffy bath towels and robes Useful iron and ironing board Couch and dining table. Bottled water daily. We used the tapas bar that is part of hotel. Food and service was very good and could be charged to room Bar with open area overlooking Hay Street was excellent for relaxing after a long day sightseeing. Has a small menu of bar food. We were disappointed when we tried to use it again the following day only to find it was closed to residents due to a private party. This was especially difficult as we had not been pre warned and most restaurants/bars were closed for the Easter weekend. Concierge was friendly and helpful

We were staying here for 3 nights and it had been prepaid by our travel agent. In these circumstances, very unusually reception demanded a $300 security deposit in case we used the minibar or damaged the room, neither of which we were going to do. Because my husband is an IHG member our room was upgraded. On first impressions when walking into the room the decor was very nice and it was very clean. However the view from our room was of the wall of another building 10 feet away. The amount of storage in the room was more akin to a budget hotel. The temperature of the water in the bathroom was only luke warm even at maximum temperature, and the safe was very shallow which limited what we could put in it. Why the TV remote has to be kept in a little jewelled box is beyond us. Ross the concierge was very nice and helpful. Overall this experience did not match our expectations, expressly as we had paid a premium price for this hotel.

This hotel had a very convenient location and very good amenities for a great visit to Perth and it was reasonably priced. Service was excellent, including a knowledgeable concierge. There are nearby restaurants. It is a short walk to the harbor and all downtown locations. It is next door to the theatre.

Location is perfect, very central for CBD, easy access to shops and taxi/uber to places like the Perth Cricket stadium easy to arrange and fairly cheap. That said the train service to the stadium was included in the cricket ticket and station is only 10 minutes walk away.
Everything in the room worked well, a reasonable number of power points and USB slots.
Staff throughout the hotel were excellent. Club room offered a good range of food and drink and was very well managed.
The major negative was space in the room for storage, distinct lack of hanging space or drawers and staying for a week meant cases were in the way and had to serve as storage.

We'd two reservations to get reward points in use. Classic room with points was actually much better than the premium corner room. The 3rd floor corner room was really a joke. Views to construction site, brick wall or office space in the next building. Could not open shades during the stay. As a member they even promise automatic upgrades but nothing. If this is the best they can offer for the loyal customers I'd rather go somewhere else. Same thing about the space in the room. Smaller room layout was so good that even a double sized room did not give anything else but unusable empty floor space.
Quality of food and beverages at the breakfast were of a high standard. The problem is the place is so understaffed. When we arrived they already told us that we need to wait and when the table is ready it will take at least 15 mins to get even coffee. People were constantly asking where their food was and many left in a hurry without any. We decided to take the simplest way with ready made eggs and fruits.
Hotel is located right in the middle of the city so it's really easy to walk to most places from the hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, well equipped, comfortable and quiet.
Attractive pricing of the offered comfort level is what did draw our attention. I'd still like to give this place another chance.

I stayed at Intercontinental to celebrate a birthday. The hotel provided a complimentary bottle of wine, which was very nice. The room was very small for the price paid, and considering the hotel is relatively new, it felt a little dated. We paid extra for club lounge access and wished we hadn't. It has to be one of the worse lounges I've ever visited. It was very dated and had no atmosphere, apart from feeling sterile. The food offerings were very poor. Evening canapes looked like they had been sat out for hours and were of poor quality. Breakfast was even less appetising. It was a combination of dry reheated food and cold food that had been sat out for too long, most of which was inedible. The lounge service was adequate but certainly nothing special and not five stars. On check out, I was asked how our stay had been and said it was adequate but nothing more. The checkout assistant just thanked me for staying. I responded to the hotel's generic email for feedback but received no reply, which begs the question of how much attention and consideration they give to guests' feedback. With so many hotels now available in Perth CBD, the Intercontinental needs to up its game to attract return guests.

Dear Noodles2010, Thank you for selecting our Intercontinental Perth City Centre while visiting Perth City and for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience. It's a pleasure having you as our guest. I am truly sorry that you did not experience an exemplary stay due to the comfort of our room, the breakfast, and the club lounge. This is certainly below our usual high standard of service. Please be certain that I have noted and forwarded your feedback for the management to improve. In the midst of your experience, I am glad to know that the service of our staff was still appreciated. I very much hope that you will grant us the opportunity to prove ourselves again. Best Regards, Ben W. Case Manager IHG Hotels and Resorts Service

I had an awesome time at the InterContinental, once again. This one in Perth is in the perfect location along Hay St, a hop, skip and jump away from Hay St Mall, Northbridge and Kings Park.
The staff went above and beyond, making us feel like royalty. When entering the hotel, guests enjoy a luxurious welcome from the door staff who radiate sincere warmth. I particularly enjoyed breakfasts and afternoon tea in the club room. It is an expansive space surrounded by large windows that allow sunlight to flood the entire area. It's a pity we didn't have a chance to enjoy the evening cocktails and canapes as we were too busy catching up with old friends.
Having stayed at another hotel in Perth a street over previously, I've decided that the InterContinental is the clear winner. It will be my choice for all my visits to Perth henceforth.
My heartfelt gratitude to the entire InterContinental team for pampering my mum and me! :)

InterContinental Perth Hotel is really in a City Centre. 7 Eleven, Sushi Hub and cafes are just nearby. The delicious Short Order hamburger store is just in front. Red CAT free bus stops near the hotel, only 6 min walk to Perth Train Station (directly to the Airport Central). Hotel room is clean and the bathroom is well designed with shower screen, shower mixer and a separated toilet in one corner. Unfortunately there is no bidet toilet or jet spray installed. The nice amenities do not include toothbrush, comb and razer. But the room provides paper slippers, hair blower, iron and board. Don't expect any nice view from the window, we only see other buildings and their roof. Very nice complimentary coffee and tea. Free wifi is either weak or none at all. Ground staff are not all friendly or welcoming especially the Asian male staff, but one Asian lady staff is nice and comfortable to talk to. Morning buffet breakfast is normal, nothing special. I only like the juice grinder which I can make my own juicing with a mixture of vegetables and fruits.

Local Bus (#40) or just Taxi. Both options are easy to find from Airport Terminal.
If you decided to rent a car, the Hotel has arranged with Wilson Carpark near the hotel where you are being charged with a fixed sum of money per day. You can ask for multi-entry pass for use in a single day.
