We stayed at the Broomes Gateway for one night in a pet friendly room. It was very clean and tidy, it’s really all we needed especially since no where else in Broome offers pet friendly rooms. The owners are very nice and friendly. For anyone stopping over that needs a pet friendly room, i would recommend.

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. Clearly this place only turns a profit due to no availability anywhere else in broome In peak season. I’ll start with cleanliness. It’s check in day and as we walk into the room the first thing we noticed was the bedding. It seemed very messy, almost like someone has just gotten up and not made the bed. So as I inspected closer I noticed some questionable stains on the bedding and one of the seams were torn along the pillowcase. My partner then drew my attention to the large quantities of fur and debris alongside the bathroom doorframe and dotted throughout the room. To make things worse we could see that there was a hole in the extractor fan in the bathroom. And to top things off there must have been some holes in the window with the mesh in the bathroom because all the moths and bugs were getting in. We checked and couldn’t see a hole so we just duct taped all along the edges, just as we did with the extractor fan. The next day I went to use the washing machines. Everything came out twice as dirty as I went in, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. And he has a cheek to charge $6!!! Also the bins outside the kitchen were grossly overfilled and I saw rats on several occasions hanging around. When we went to Dave, the manager with our concerns he just shrugged it off and refused to take responsibility, very unprofessional. We ended up cutting our stay short and will never stay here again. The prices are extortionate, for the dirty, rat infested property it is. Clearly Dave depends on the desperation of others in order to actually make a buck, for only when it’s full in broome do people actually stay here. Moral of the story is keep on driving, don’t stop at Broome’s last resort!!!!

Thank you for your review. We're very sorry to hear that you didn't have a pleasant stay. If you could please advise your name and booking date and we will investigate this further. All of the linen is cleaned daily, and if the room was of substandard then we will need to address this. Thank you.

Unfortunately there is no powered sites here but the sites are big although lots of red dirt, and the water really good. The amenities were good but there were far to few for the amount of people that were there. The last night we were there we had to move onto a site with no water despite the fact we had paid for it. The staff were friendly enough but you really only see them when you check. Perhaps not quite as good as we had hoped.

I will never visit this place ever again. This sub human owner looks after peoples dogs for a small fee, he throws in the beating for free. I was walking my dog on 22/05/21 and I saw dave walking to the office and a little white JRT started barking and nipping at his feet. He then leaned down and smacked the little dog and he went quiet. The receptionist Nikki saw and watched in horror as Dave beat this poor creature. There was also another dog there, a basset hound. They belonged to the same owner as moments later they called to collect them. If I didn’t have my dog and children with me I would have approached them and told them. I did rush back to the room to drop them off but by the time I’d got back they were gone. So do not give this place your money, do not line the pockets of an animal abuser!!!!

Hi 744nias Thank you for your slanderous and unfounded review. We are aware that you are the guest that was asked to leave the premises due to inappropriate conduct and verbal abuse, the written copy of your review was found in the room that you vacated. Dave is no way an animal abuser (actually completely the opposite) and I am replying to your review as the witness that was there. What you failed to see was that this dog actually bit a deep hole in Dave's leg as he walked past, requiring stitches and later on antibiotics when the bite became infected. One smack does not make someone an animal abuser, it was a natural reaction to being bitten, the owners were advised of what happened and were horrified that their dog did that. We understand that you hold a personal grudge against Dave, however this review is extremely malicious and will be reported.

No powered sites at all here. Sites were generous and I think all had access to water. Toilets great but was a room with a shower that often clogged up the toilet/showers. Washing machines expensive at $6 a load. Nice fire pit nightly bringing campers together. Some sites a fair way from amenities and there is no dump point. Park is about 30 km from Broome.
