Mangrove Hotel is lauded for its friendly service and stunning location, ideal for witnessing the 'staircase to the moon' display. Guests have called out the cleanliness and presentation of the rooms, which offer great views, though a few note they could benefit from an update.
Despite the relaxed atmosphere and well-appreciated amenities like the pool, some visitors feel the hotel doesn't provide good value for money and mention noise disturbances. Additionally, while the cleanliness of the rooms is consistently praised, the common areas have been flagged for needing more attention.

My flight was cancelled and I am glad I looked at the reviews on Tripadvisor, because Mangrove Hotel did not disappoint.
The shower was great, facilities clean and tidy, beds comfortable. They did take a $200 holding deposit, but I think this is a good safety mechanism to deter troublesome, unreliable guests. Thank you for a safe and comfortable place to stay.

We decided to stay at the Mangrove as we were in Broome for work. The location is stunning - overlooking Roebuck Bay you can watch the tide change while sitting on the deck enjoying a beverage. It’s also quite close to town so if feeling active, you can walk to the markets etc. The rooms are a bit tired and could use a refresh, as could some of the paths around the building with broken tiles here and there. We struggled to get our room serviced by house keeping. We requested multiple times to have our room serviced but it just didn’t eventuate. In the end we had run out of toilet paper, basic tea, coffee and sugar etc. I understand that the hotel was busy with incoming/outgoing room cleans but a hotel of this size should be able to cope. Management clearly just didn’t allow for the number of guest movements. There was also a large beer festival at the hotel when we stayed - hotel management could have done a little more to pre-warn guests at the time of booking to advise of the event as we weren’t even aware of it until we arrived. Given we were here for work I probably would have stayed somewhere else as the music was really loud and played until 11pm. Without being labelled a party pooper, it could have been turned down as you couldn’t even have a conversation in the bar area. We had a beautiful dinner on the Friday night but due to the festival the restaurant was mostly closed from then on. This was also disappointing as the food trucks serving the festival were overpriced and underwhelming and we ended up leaving the hotel to go somewhere else to eat. All in all, a really beautiful spot for a hotel and if you’re a beer festival fan probably right up your alley. For everyone else, maybe reconsider your visit to another weekend.

Reception is very basic with little tourist information. We had a "garden" room which looked out at a fence and the neighbouring apartments and we had to keep the curtains closed. Two chairs were provided but no table, but it didn't matter as we couldn't sit outside due to being eaten alive by bugs. Comfortable room, nice bathroom, cups, plates, utensils and a fridge. Lots of loungers by a great pool, towels, sunblock and bug spray supplied (lots of mozzies, sandflies and midgies). Our stay coincided with "stairway to the moon" which doubled the accommodation prices, but it was a sight well worth seeing making for spectacular photos. High tables & stools by the bar and double sun loungers overlook the bay to lay back and relax in the gardens . The bar food is very good, amazing pizzas and cocktails are a must, but the bistro is expensive - watch out for the many seagulls when eating outside! Out the front is the local bustop which gets you around all the tourist spots and the local shops, one chemist, one Coles, limited shopping but nice coffee and breakfast spots in China Town which you can walk to. Shout out to the Room service staff who were absolutely lovely. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Dear Weebansheewoman, Thank you for choosing The Mangrove Hotel and for taking the time to share your great feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed our Bay Club restaurant with its fantastic cocktails and pizza. During Staircase to the Moon we do experience large tidal movements which can result in an influx of sandflies & midiges. Complimentary protection can always be found in the restaurant and at both swimming pools. We apologize that you found our tourist information limited. We have a dedicated wall of brochures that are restocked frequently. Our friendly reception team are also able to check live tour availability quickly and efficiently upon request. We appreciate your kind words about our housekeeping team and we hope we can welcome you back again soon. Kind Regards

Stayed at this hotel for just under two weeks in September. The rooms were very clean, and the hotel runs a sustainability provision which is great as who needs their room cleaned every day. We were located just outside one of the pools which made a great morning habit to sit and read a book in quiet with the most amazing views. Also had a member of staff come and give fresh cold water and watermelon totally unexpected. The stunning views of the mangroves, close walking distance to the local town, with bus service right outside the door. All the staff were polite and lovely with a special shout out to housekeeping and reception as being very attentive and nothing being too much. Great hotel would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again. The food was great, good value and extremely tasty. Didn't have many breakfasts but what we had was lovely. In the evening we would sometimes choose from the Mangrove bar menu - the pizzas I would say were a highlight and best I have eaten.
Not one to take many photos but attached a few - difficult to capture paradise

We had a nice room in a quiet location. With no view to look at. The room was well appointed and clean. The common areas of the hotel, especially in and around the pool area needed a good clean and the cushions needed replacing on the ocean view loungers.

Being more accustomed to 5 star hotels & resorts, we found this 4 star hotel a little lacking for our taste, even though we had one of the best suites. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant/bar/food was good. Nothing special though. There is no lounge which kind of makes this feel more like a good motel. The actual web site pictures show a lounge but it doesn’t exist. The two pools are nice enough but be aware of steep depth changes which could place non-swimmers/children at risk. Our suite was large with great views over the pool and mangroves/bay. The A/C was however woeful and there is very little hanging space for anything even though there are plenty of usable walls. Some shelves in the bathroom would have helped too. 4 coat hangers is clearly insufficient. A little bit “tired” with some damage here and there. Good location though and close to one of the best pubs in town 😎. The hop on/off bus stops right outside so very convenient at every 30mins or so. Be aware that it doesn’t operate after 7pm. We were here for 3 nights pre cruise and wish we had hired a car to more easily get a round. Taxi’s are hard to get and there are no Ubers! It’s telling that I didn’t take one picture of the hotel, which is unusual for me. Not a bad place, but not really our cup of tea.

We found ourselves in Broome over a 4 day period. Our stay in the Mangrove was a very pleasant experience. The room was very comfortable and the staff obliging, especially the Manageress Cloe, who was very helpful in booking our return flights back home to Sydney, as well as giving us a lift to the airport in Broome. The hotel at the time of our arrival was fully booked and Cloe made sure to find an available room for us at a critical time when we needed it. We would very highly recommend the Mangrove Hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and beautifully situated hotel in Broome.

The rooms were very well presented and the particular room we stayed in had great direct access to the pool while also maintaining the magnificent view of the magical Broome coastline.
One of the highlights of the trip was the service and great attention to detail that Shami demonstrated during our stay, she would bring us daily sliced watermelon and ice cold water by the pool to ensure we were well hydrated in the sweltering heats that Broome has to offer, whilst having little great chats with my elderly father and myself. She also teaches a yoga/meditation class every Sat morning which I highly recommend. Shami couldn’t have made our stay at Mangrove hotel any more enjoyable!

There is the shinju matsuri. It’s a festival about a dragon waking no and then going back to sleep. There will be events and parades plus the pearl meet cooking events. 7-15 September this year. Don’t know about other events but I’m sure the internet will give you any if you search Broome Events.
Hi Sue T,
We didn't stay at the hotel but most hotel reception desks are very helpful for booking tours. We booked a few tours online. Willie Creek Pearl Farm, Pearl Luggers Tour, Camel Ride on Cable Beach and a hovercraft tour. All very easy to find via google. Good luck! :)
Good morning blinx
Yes Wi-Fi is free for all room types at all times.
Generally it works very well but the Broome and the Kimberly can be a bit patchy in terms of connectivity sometimes.
There are more places to choose from in the Broome area.
