We were thrilled to have found this hotel. From the moment we checked in we had the best time. Sofia greeted us at reception. She was friendly and very helpful. We had a courtyard suite which was big and roomy. The suite was complete with a kitchen (fridge, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery, glasses etc). There was a lounge seating area with TV and a great size bedroom, complete with king bed. The bathroom had a freestanding bath as well as a corner shower. Tired but clean. Our room was serviced each day with clean white towels left each time and we were also given beach/pool towels to use too. The pool was in beautifully serene surroundings, relatively clean although it is in need of renovation which I believe the Manager is aware and has plans to update. Sun loungers and umbrellas were available in full sun or shade. Breakfast was included (underwhelming). Buffet style with the usual fare such as toast, mini muffins, cereal (weetbix/cornflakes) along with eggs. The Hotel has Sands restaurant too, which needs to be booked in advance. All in all we loved our stay and will most definitely be looking to return to the Kimberly Sands Hotel on our future subsequent trips.

Good afternoon Beverley and thank you for your most valuable feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you will return again. We are pleased to confirm our upcoming works and that these have already commenced. The resort has now had all rooms installed with the latest Samsung LED Smart TVs. We have also taken delivery of our new beds that will be moving into our rooms over the coming weeks. I understand our new linen is also on the way and we look forward to these to make a significant impact on the quality of sleep for our guests. While we wait for our new furniture to arrive, the final designs for all of our common areas are complete, and look forward to these coming into effect in the new year. There will certainly be some wonderful changes for your next visit. Kindest Regards, Simon Beckett

For $500 a night I expect the lights to work and the shower to have a curtain hanging on the shower rail. When you are disabled and transferring back to your wheelchair the last thing you need is to worry about a very wet floor. Really unnerving. But despite our request to have this fixed, nothing happened. Don’t care? Can’t be bothered? Would have been disappointed if it were $200 a night.

Good Afternoon James, Thank you for your feedback and I was most concerned that failed to meet your expectations during your recent stay. While I have rectified the issues that you faced being after the fact does not help. I sincerely apologize for this and have also discussed with my team the importance of communicating all guest requests immediately. Had I been aware of these issues I'm sure the outcome would have been much better. I sincerely hope that you will visit us again and contact me directly to look after your booking. Kindest Regards, Simon Beckett

Pleasant, but not exceptional place to stay. Cocktails at Happy Hour were nice. Coffee at breakfast was rather ordinary. Dinner menu is rather limited. It's in a good location for a beach walk. I wouldn't seek it out to stay again but was not unhappy either.

I didn’t read the reviews prior to booking this but perhaps i should of checked first. This is not 5 star. Pros. Bed is comfy, big bathroom, good location, nice pool, friendly staff Cons. Old aged and outdated, toilet was stained dirty. Bathroom vanity had a white powder residue on it.?.. teaspoons in tea coffee area were dirty, asked for a quiet room after travelling 10 hrs, got put on ground floor opposite main reception area! Yep that’s quiet…..not This hotel could do with a refurb and higher quality service. Dined in the restaurant and food was mediocre and burnt.

Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and notified of an upgraded room (poolside room), which was a great surprise. We found the room to be spacious, modern and clean. The room also had an adjoining courtyard with direct pool access. Staff were very friendly and were happy to assist with our late departure and late check out. We also enjoyed the peace and quiet of the pool. Whilst we appreciated the free breakfast, it was rather basic (toast, cereal etc.)

For the amount of money paid for a 3 night stay. I was merely disappointed. No hot water pressure what so ever. for a king room we were greeted with 2 uncomfortable cheap single beds pushed together. Tv on wall is broken replaced by a monitor the size of a desk top. Overall not worth half of what we paid and we will not be returning or recommending.

I’ve stayed here before and it was lovely. Some recent bad reviews almost made me rethink booking again…. Glad I didn’t read too much into them! Staff are amazing and engaged with customers Manager is new and aware of strengths and weaknesses of facility Pool… amazing! Obviously needs a regrout etc but I believe plans are underway with it’s possible removal in the future. Rooms are large, clean and well appointed Complimentary breakfast is very basic but hey it’s free! Perfect to fill you up before a tour however and they do also offer a chefs special if you want something more substantial. French chef….. best crème brûlée I’ve had in my life! Happy hour at the bar ✅ The venue is obviously getting a little old but it still feels luxurious and I highly recommend booking a stay here

I stayed 2 nights in May and 2 in June at each end of a long Kimberley tour. Preliminary enquiries and booking was a great experience with efficient staff and thoughtful suggestions. Continental breakfast was unexpectedly included and more than sufficient. The layout and facilities of my pool-view room with it's own courtyard was lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed their unusually shaped pool which is of great size with an unusual shape creating different spaces. Dinner in the restaurant on the 2 nights of my stay in June was excellent. Kimberley Sands, like a lot of businesses in Broome, is working hard to find and retain experienced staff. I found their staff to be friendly and generous with their time. I have read some of the negative reviews but they absolutely do not reflect my experience. ps yes a couple of tiles missing in spots in the pool but water was clean and lovely and my swim was just bliss..

Total disaster... no breakfast no staff.. no service... we wouldve been better off in the caravan park in a tent... I heard the place is still in administration .. the creditors should vote to liquidate rather than steal from unsuspecting tourists... I may report to the serious fraud squad.. totally unacceptable behaviour

Really wish we'd booked again at the Bali Hai instead! Upon check in added of we could be upgraded to a quiet villa at the back of the pool. Quoted nearly twice the price difference between the rooms that is advertised online. Asked if our standard rooms could be ones that had minimum direct sunlight and were quiet (it was the tail end of a long work trip) , reception just laughed and said everywhere was quiet at the moment and we couldn't escape the sun. We were placed in the only wing of the hotel which wasn't shaded by trees. Garden view also included the service yard and rubbish bins. Given the price of the rooms, and low occupancy ( the place was almost empty) it wouldn't be hard to accommodate our requests. Breakfast was continental, with the addition of pancakes (machine not working day one) and cold hard boiled eggs. Didn't have dinner there because it was a set course menu and pretty pricy. Pool would have been lovely when first built, however is in need of repair with loose decking and missing tiles. Pool is not deep - 1.4m across the whole pool. I know it has been advertised as an adult's only retreat - what few guests there were included kids, and there were pool toys left around the area (as well as glasses and food dishes along the edge of the pool from the previous day) Rooms themselves were quite nice and spacious. Could have been a bit cleaner., And there were a few cockroaches. Our wing didn't have fans on the balcony, but others did (didn't use the balcony much because of the direct sunlight. Customer service(aside from check in) was okay. Comparing this to the Bali Hai (next hotel up the road) where we stayed at the start of our trip - customer service was excellent; staff (and there were a lot of them) were super helpful and friendly. Room rate was much cheaper, and offered full kitchen, indoor and outdoor showers, massive baths , lots of fans, super clean, all in shade with private outdoor areas and really serene. Beautiful gardens which were cared for. Most rooms had washing machines and dryers, with free use of the laundry for those without (Kimberley Sands charged $5 per load each) . Pool was delightful and clean -a large lagoon style, cool, with deep and shallow ends and an in pool spa. They didn't have breakfast, but we had dinner one night. Not the cheapest, but beautiful food, and catered for different needs (incl having an entree serve as a main etc) . Our rooms were ready at 11am. Even though there were more people there, it was quiet and just a lovely place to be.
