I think this is a good option if you are in Broome for work and want to cook for yourself.
The room is nicely laid out and the staff are helpful and polite. The pool was a big draw for me.
The only downsides are that if someone next door is using their spa at 4 in the morning...you can hear it and the beds are a bit soft and lacking in support for me.

It's well located near the Broome Museum and the staff were friendly. However, the room was worn and in need of paint and the skirting board was peeling. The bathroom tiles needed grouting and the rubbish bin was rusty at the bottom. This isn't a good enough standard if you are paying these sort of prices. The last resort ( 3 star) I worked at the rooms were painted every quarter and regrouted to maintain freshness. I couldn't believe how tatty it was. The daily service was minimal, just changing of towels but oddly they folded the toilet paper roll into an arrow. I felt that time could be used to wipe down the bathroom surfaces. The complimentary toiletries were horrible. Shower head was dismal. They had a sign on the balcony door stuck with blutak, surely they could have arranged something better than that it looks so tacky. We choose the hotel for the large pool but it was closed for maintenance for the 2 days out of the 3 we stayed. If it was $50-$70 cheaper I wouldn't have cared so much but they have to understand now days people are expecting quality for that pricing.

This is our second stay this year and happened to be in the same room which was great. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which is a one bedroom apartment with another room with two beds connected by a door. The apartment had a spa inside a large bathroom, a washing machine and dryer with soap powder which is very handy. There is a separate bedroom and lounge/kitchen. The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer with all the basics ie toaster kettle etc. There is a good size TV in bedroom, lounge and second bedroom. There is a foldout sofa bed in lounge also, so a 2 bedroom apartment could sleep 6.Tea and coffee is provided.
There are 2 decent size pools with sun lounges and a secure car park with card access.Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner.Airport shuttle and most tours stop here. The hotel is central to most things. I would definitely stay again.

From the moment we arrived we were disappointed and it didn’t improve. We arrived for our Check-in at 2 pm and we were told it wasn’t ready yet and we were asked to come back. No issue we thought we jumped into the hire car and went and got some odds and ends and came back 40 mins later to still be told that they were cleaning our room now and it would be another ten minutes or so. Still no dramas we decided to get the room key and go around and Park the car in the secure park and unload our luggage. Room was finally finished at just after 3:30 pm. Finally get into the room to find maintenance of the room poor with huge crack in tiles in the bathroom and later in the early evening find that the fridge was not working. A couple of days in and we still haven’t seen a cleaner for our room and some nit wit broke glass in the main pool. This wasn’t rectified before checking out so the entire hotel was trying to use the small pool which had very limited shade and space for everyone. The on-site restaurant ’1806’ is convenient but the food is average especially for what they are charging. Also the service was slow with drink orders being taking one at a time rather than the whole order and staff not very attentive to those waiting to order food. The other draw back is the bins stored at the bottom of the stairs that were regularly overflowing and had some putrid smells not what you want to smell when moving around the hotel. End of a 6 night stay and still no cleaner. Had to wonder what the staffing levels were like and where is the sense of urgency for maintenance issues.

Hello "Andrew C", Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. Please note that there are number of discounted deals available which do not include daily room servicing and I suspect this is the reason for no housekeeping during your stay. We do look forward to the possibility of welcoming you back. Warm regards, Vic

The best thing i can say about this hotel is it has a great location. You can walk or catch the bus to many of the tourist attractions. There is a general store, liquor store, Itallian Take Away and a Tapas bar just across the road with the Town Beach Cafe a short walk away.
The size of the apartment was excellent but as the shower did not have a door, water spilled out on to the floor which was very dangerous. We have stayed in many hotels around the world and the little extras set hotels apart. Paying up to $350 per night you do have some expectations. With the Oaks there were no toothbrushes, no shower caps, some days they forgot to leave a flannel or a spare toilet roll. We also encountered small ants and if this was common, a can of fly spray would have been appreciated. On arrival you were given a basic map to help find your room, and we saw many people wandering around dragging their luggage behind them looking lost. No delivery of your luggage to your room. Breakfast was adequate but after two visits we bought yoghurt and muslie from the shop across the road and ate on our balcony. The pools were beautiful but the water was so cold that it was uncomfortable. The number of Day Beds at the pool need to be increased. We encountered some guests who went to Bunnings and bought their own as there were not enough to go round. Many of them were torn and needed replacing. There was no service at the pool so a poolside cocktail and snack does not happen. Pool closes at Sunset which was at about 6:00 when we were there last week.
I have encountered more enthusiastic staff during past travels.

Hotel room for couple comes with 19inch TV, what it lacks in screen size it’s speakers make up for with next door leaving the room and leaving a movie on repeat loud!
You get two single beds that can be pushed together to make one uncomfortable bed.
(Must had been cheaper for the hotel)
Black and gold toilet paper as standard, bring your in soap as they only have a budget for 1 tiny bar.
Pool closes at sunset so if you want a nice evening swim when kids are not screaming forget that.
I can go on and on...
The place looked nice in pictures.

A convenient location if you are after Town Beach, the Museum, the mangroves or Matsos!! If you’re on a tight schedule, then having a car is ideal and secure free parking is provided. Otherwise, there is a bus stop nearby, which runs every hour. Unlike previous posts, we found the staff were friendly and helpful at Oaks Broome. The rooms are a tad outdated and our kitchenette did have an insect problem. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor with a view out to the carpark (which was a tad disappointing, especially after our we had to move into two separate rooms for the first night and then check in and out again). On the plus side, we had a spa, as well as a washing machine and dryer which was convenient.
There is a restaurant and bar on site, which served a limited menu for dinner and breakfast. The food was nice.
There are two (cold!) pools at the resort and the area is well maintained, apart from a few lounge chairs which need replacing.
All in all a good stay, however we’d probably stay somewhere else next time.

To be fair accommodation in the dry season at Broome is grossly over priced compared to the eastern seaboard. I'd recommend an air BnB if you can find it. For 350 a night it is only a standard room and standard ensuite and if you're like me malodourous when you enter it. I've stayed in hotels half the price which are nicer. It's a definite consideration if you are travelling from a state outside of WA. There are some amazing sites in the Kimberleys but it is very costly. That being said if you want to charge prices such as these at least the rooms shouldn't stink when you enter them

I flew up to Broome recently for a much needed break and get away.
I was originally looking to book accommodation around Cable Beach, particularly the OAKS Cable Beach Resort. My quote for 9x nights there was around the $3500.00 mark at the time of booking, which I really couldn’t justify.
After digging deeper I found a decent deal at the OAKS Broome hotel (on the other side of town) for around the $1700 mark for 9x nights which I thought was a more sensible and decent price. With the money saved between the two I was able to get a hire car for my entire stay, to which I was able to get to Cable Beach anyway, as well as other spots the local bus doesn’t go like Gantheaume Point, Entrance Point etc. Even with the hire car, I still had with money left over from the savings on accommodation.
The location of the hotel was good. A stones throw to Town Beach with its awesome cafe (great coffee), along with the convenience of being close to shopping, Matso’s Brewery, Courthouse Markets, among many other gems.
The accomodation itself was reasonably good. My room (although probably due for a more modern refurb) was clean, comfortable and really well maintained.
If I was to pick anything about the room itself it would be that there was no face washers, and no shower door in the bathroom, but that’s all I could really fault, and that is being really picky.
I ate at the restaurant here and there and soon learnt to venture out to eat elsewhere for better food and better value. The breakfasts I ate from there (particularly the smashed avocado, and “loaded” banana bread were fairly disappointing, but to be fair, some of the dinner meals I had, such as the Surf & Turf, and the Fish Of The Day were really good. Oh, the coffees were really good also.
Taking everything into account, I was really happy with my stay at OAKS Broome Hotel.
I was really happy with the price, the location, the room itself and the staff were awesome.
I’d recommend the place to anyone visiting Broome, and I’d certainly stay there again.
Thanks for a great stay…

I have previously stayed at Oaks in Cabel Beach but this time I tried Oaks in Town due to my budget. I definately enjoyed Oaks in Cabel Beach better as it had a great vibe, huge pool and lovely restaurant area. Here are my pro's and con's of Oaks in Town to help you decide.
Cons:
No iceblock trays
No oven (so you can't cook frozen chips or pizzas)
No welcome book, just an online lookup which doesnt say much
Not much of an explanation of their facilities from staff on arrival either.
No throw blanket if you get cold from the aircon
No restaurant menu in your room
Pros: - its all about the location
20 min walk to the Courthouse Markets
25 mins walk to Mcdonalds and 5 mins more to coles
2 min walk to the liquor store & general store
2 min walk to Museum
5 min walk to Town beach & the cafe (huge playground)
Explorer hop on off bus is 1 min walk away ($4.50 one way or $15 all day)
I had the one bedroom apartment on the ground floor. it was nice and spacious.
If you are a pensioner/senior I recommend you bring you seniors card as I overheard the bus drivers and Museum attendant ask everyone.
Also, I recommend if you are departing Oaks in Town on an afternoon flight, leave the Museum to your last day. It open's at 10am and as you need to vacate the hotel at 10am, its a nice way to kill time in airconditioning so you won't get tired & sweaty before you hop on the plane. Remember its only a 2 min walk away from the hotel.

Outside the premises on the street. The hotel is designated a non-smoking venue however I believe that you could possibly smoke in the carpark.
Staff at reception can guide you to book tours or you can do so directly through the tour operator. I’d highly recommend the dinosaur footprint tour!
Divers had entertainment when I went there on the Friday night. The Duo was excellent and they also have a bistro there as well with nice food.
Dear Lissy,
Thank you for your question. Please note that the closest bus stop from the airport is around a 10-minute walk from the arrival hall. If you would like to take this option, you will need to get off at the Broome Museum stop. This is right across the road of our hotel. Alternatively, you can also take the Broome Transit Bus from the airport. The Transit bus will stop directly at the entrance of the hotel and costs $10/person. You will also have the option to take a taxi from the taxi lane which will cost around $15.
Yes, full sized fridge freezer. Great kitchen all round.
Do go there, it's great
