6 years straight we have visited The Pearle for our annual family holiday. We will be back for 7! Thanks to Marco for taking care of our request prior to arrival. No issues with security which was a concern as we never had this issue before. Lock your doors no issues! Extra security has been implemented this year which we noticed upon arrival Thanks Marco and the Team

We visited for four nights and stayed in a one-bedroom guest room. If you have more people with you it would definitely be worth getting the pool-villas. We had booked to come earlier in the year through Flight Centre who had handled the booking for us. We had to reschedule due to Covid and this was the only room available for us, at approximately $600 a night. The room was just not worth this price. If we were paying less than this we would have said it was a perfectly adequate hotel room, but at $600 a night you expect top quality which this was not. We found that some rooms were available online for later dates at $349 a night which is much more in line with what what we think the room is worth. We raised our concerns around the price with the manager who told us there was nothing much he could do for us given that we had booked through a travel agent rather than with the hotel directly. Our travel agent also spoke to him but as there were no better rooms available to upgrade us to nothing more could be done. He did provide us with a bottle of wine though which was nice. Our main concerns were: - aircon was dripping straight onto the bed/pillows (which maintenance came and fixed when we raised this with staff) - milk in the breakfast area was expired one day (again, fixed when we raised it but shouldn’t be happening at a restaurant/cafe) and was off the following morning as well in the coffee machines. - breakfast options were minimal at the cafe (continental). The lunch options were better, but still an extremely small menu. - one of the pillows had what appeared to be makeup marks on it (which got changed by staff when we asked them to, but the second one they went to put on was also dirty so they quickly took that off and found another) - lots of stains/marks on things in the room such as in the bathroom and on the curtains. - no dinner place at the hotel (but there are other places about 1km walk away). - quite dark rooms with minimal natural light at all. The positives: - good location and easy to get to Cable Beach. - the staff were very friendly and came to fix things immediately when brought to their attention. - beds made every day and fresh towels. - beach towels provided - parking on-site for the scooter we hired - good size pool and lounges with umbrellas - we were made very clearly aware of locking things properly to ensure our safety and the safety of our belongings. Overall, we would come back and stay again but only if the pricing was cheaper than what we paid!! Just be mindful of this when booking.

We had THE BEST week at The Pearle with our family of 6. Our villa was amazing and our private pool was used morning noon and night!! An absolute hit!! The lay out suited our family needs to perfection, and the place was spotless and well attended to. Staff were very attentive and happy to help when needed. After reading some reviews about safety, we were a little worried, However, Marco was amazing with his emails to us beforehand, and by the moment we arrived all those concerns went out the window. Dont make yourself a target, be safe with lock ups and use the safe in the villa to keep your mind at ease, but we honestly had the best week ever and we are already planning on our return!! Thanks so much Marco, and The Pearle team

My travelling companion and I, both ladies in our 60’s booked into a guest room. We found it very comfortable. The bathroom consisted of a large shower, double sink vanity, large enough to cater for 2 ladies. The bedroom also had a long mirror and plenty of hanging and draw space for both of us to unpack. Secluded small balcony, fantastic for afternoon drinks. Lush tropical gardens everywhere. 20m pool open in daylight hours, so can do early morning laps. Plenty of seating and shade around the pool. Delicious salads, snack food, coffee or afternoon drinks pumped out of the cafe during the day. Take normal security measures and don’t leave your valuables unattended and lock up your room. We never felt insecure at any time in our stay. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. All our requests and queries were dealt prompting and efficiently. Even an early morning trip to emergency by the manager, Marco. Thank you. 10 min walk to Cable Beach along a well lit up main road back to the Pearl after watching the sunset in the evening, 1.4km. Spent a wonderful 16 nights enjoying the hospitality of The Pearl on Cable Beach. Recommend.

After reading the security reviews (after we had already booked!) and with two young children in tow (8yo/ 6yo), we had a pre-arrival panic. Should we stay? Were we going to be safe? Had we inadvertently booked Johannesburg vs Broome...? I dont want to down play how terrible it would have been for those guests that had experienced theft or local teenagers in their rooms - no doubt VERY scary - but ultimately it seems there is more to the back story and only so much responsibility that can be deflected to the resort itself. The villas have a large wooden door entering into the front courtyard, and from there another door into the villa itself. There is a back door and there are side windows. From speaking with the staff, groundsmen and also our tour guide that is familiar with Broome and resort break ins, it would appear that most (?all) of these opportunistic thefts have occurred when the front villa garden gate has been left open, doors have been left unlocked, and local teenagers have run into the resort grounds, checked doors, dashed in and grabbed whatever is on the tables. Or, windows and doors have been left visibly open and thefts have occurred. Broome is no different to other holiday towns where most thefts are young kids looking to grab car keys, grab wallets, and make the most out of travellers that dont use typical security measures. Its hard when on holiday not to be relaxed with safety - the place has a very relaxed vibe - but if you use some common sense, you really will be fine. Its a great place to stay, good location, lovely staff and although some minor aging is occurring to the villas they are still wonderful especially relative to other places. Youll have a great time. Our kids loved the pool. We loved the space. Grounds are immaculately kept. Staff are lovely. My 4 vs. 5 stars relates to the design of the villas. Unfortunately the 2nd bedroom is not connected to the main house, and that means if you have very young children or pre-teens, youll probably require rollaway beds into the main house as we did. We used the 2nd bedroom as a play room, but it wasnt suitable for young children. So essentially it was wasted. We hadnt really paid attention to the design when we booked, so its our oversight, but the resort were understanding and we fit the extra beds easily. In my opinion though it seems a design flaw for most settings - even if youre travelling as two couples, the 2nd bedroom is pretty basic - except for the benefit to the resort that can more easily annex the villas into "1br", "2br", "3br" etc. Dont let it put you off, just make sure you get rollaways if you arent comfortable. We'd happily go back!

Dear Ironse15, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I very much appreciate your feed back and honest opinion on how our resort works. We take our guests safety very seriously as you know. Upon check in, we draw your attention to these local issues and ask you to acknowledge that we have made you aware. As a resort, we can only educate our guests on these matters and remind them to lock all of their doors. Unfortunately the word "break in" is used far too often when this is not the case. Unlocked doors are a huge issue all over Broome, even the Police advise me on the amount of theft, by people not locking their doors. Broome is a beautiful place, but like everywhere, we have some social issues. We do try to advise guests who are travelling with Children about how our Villa's are set up. We understand that the room configurations may not work for some families and I am more than flexible to cancel and refund reservations who are not comfortable with the layout. Most families are ok with the rooms being dethatched, however fully understand that it may not work for everyone. I ask all guest to disclose that they have children so that we can explain how the villas are laid out. We have full floor plans on our website so people can make informed decisions before they book. Or, they simply can call us and ask how these are set up. The villas are like a Bali villa where the design is to allow space and openness throughout the villa. We have many return guests who love the resort and facilities - however I understand that this may not suit everyone. Again, thank you for taking the time to outline your experience with us and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind regards Marco
