Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We have had the good fortune to stay at a number of fine hotels but without question the Treasury on Collins is one of our very favourites. In every aspect our eight night stay was perfect. The hotel is a tastily restored historic building with an ideal central Melbourne location. Our room, the King Balcony Suite, is very spacious, tastefully appointed, spotlessly clean, with an extremely comfortable king size bed with quality linen. Our day got off to a great start with an excellent breakfast and after a day of exploring the laneways and sights of fantastic Melbourne, concluded with a complimentary glass or two of excellent wine. However, above all else is the outstanding staff. In particular we wish to thank Alicia, Adrian, Harry, Jemma, Hardik, Josh and Jay for all that they did to make our stay so memorable. Their genuine concern for their guests happiness and well being is second to none. We are greatly looking forward to returning to Melbourne and staying at the fabulous Treasury on Collins.

What a great hotel. It had the best of apartment accommodation and a hotel stay, and the location is excellent. We had a very spacious and light room with a well stocked kitchen and facilities. Breakfast offered a variety of options. The wine down is rather special and a good option if you are meeting friends pre dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I don’t often comment on hotels but this one significantly exceeded expectations.

This is a fabulous hotel and a return visit. The first suite we were given was disappointing, lower ground, not much light, so we moved after a day into a balcony suite which was much better, light and airy, although the bathroom felt a bit tired. Breakfast on the Mezzanine daily was great, as was Wine Down, especially after a hard day's sightseeing. The staff were all delightful

I recently spent three nights at the Treasury on Collins Apartment hotel in Melbourne and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is located in a beautiful heritage building. The rooms are spacious, elegant, and well-equipped with modern amenities. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive. The breakfast buffet is delicious and generous. The location is ideal for exploring the city’s attractions, shopping, and dining. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Melbourne.

Fantastic Aparthotel located right in the centre of things // booked for a 4 night stay - from arrival to departure every member of staff at this hotel were friendly, efficient and professional. The room we had was very clean, very well equipped, could have done with some drawers for clothes storage but that really is scraping the barrel // We booked direct with the hotel and as a result had breakfast included - which was excellent AND were able to attend the "wine down" each evening between 4pm and 6pm where wine (including Fizz) were provided along with nibbles --- this was a fantastic offering by the hotel and welcome after days of walking or "tramming" round the sites and shops. There is also a bar/restaurant located downstairs (not operated by the hotel) but is a useful addition. Thanks in particular to Alicia,Harries and Andrew you made our stay so fantastic.

I chose this hotel based on the excellent reviews and the fact that it’s an old historic building right in the CBD. It was our first time to Melbourne for my husband and me and the hotel was about a 6-block walk to the meeting place for our Great Ocean Road bicycle trip so it was very convenient. We were not disappointed. This hotel is fantastic! It has tons of character, spacious rooms, great customer-service oriented staff, and included a delicious breakfast each morning on the mezzanine, a terrific wine tasting every afternoon on the mezzanine and snacks/drinks available 24/7. The fellow that checked us in was very friendly and for some reason upgraded us to a 2-bedroom corner suite and we loved it. It had plenty of room for our bikes and a big wrap around balcony with a great view of the city. And we really enjoyed having our own laundry facility and kitchenette. The location was ideal for walking around Melbourne. We happened to have terrible wet, windy, cool weather for our stay and it was so nice to come back to our hotel room to dry out and warm up. We had planned to cycle everywhere but the weather limited that. And one night we ate at the restaurant in the lobby (not related) and it was good and very convenient. The other nights we ate at other great restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. If we ever get back to Melbourne we will definitely stay at this hotel again. It has everything and lots of little extras.

Visited for Melbourne for the first time for a short stay with my daughter. Delighted with the Treasury on Collins. Our flight arrived early morning but upon dropping our luggage off we were invited to relax in the lounge and have a tea/coffee whilst we awaited check in (which we were grateful was able to be provided slightly early). The room was very well appointed and there was lovely attention to detail. We enjoyed the well thought out breakfast every morning. Customer service from reception was outstanding. I can’t wait to visit again.

Pros: Excellent location in the heart of Melbourne, steps away from the city's best shopping, dining, and entertainment. Spacious and luxurious rooms with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay, including a kitchenette, washer/dryer, and balcony. Friendly and attentive staff who are always willing to help. Excellent breakfast buffet with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Rooftop bar with stunning views of the city. Complimentary wine hour every evening. But always remember to book direct. Cons: None that I could find! Overall, I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Treasury on Collins. The hotel is simply outstanding in every way, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne. Here are some additional details that I would add to my review: The hotel is housed in a beautiful historic building that has been tastefully restored. The rooms are decorated in a modern style and are very spacious, with high ceilings and plenty of natural light. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they go out of their way to make sure you have a memorable stay. I would definitely stay at the Treasury on Collins again, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable stay in Melbourne.
