We stayed at an apartment on the top floor.
The apartment is spacious, clean, and fully equipped. The staff are really nice and helpful.
Although our apartment was almost next to the train station we had no problem with noise. WiFi is free!
You can buy a Myki Card att he reception (for the trams and trains), too.
There is also the possibility to wash clothes for free. Tumble dryers are provided.
Location: this is the best thing about it. THe apartment block is off Toorak Road where you can find heaps of restaurants and shops. Chapel St is in walking distance (if you need more shops and restaurants or eateries).
THe tram stop and the train station (South Yarra) are ONE minute away!!!
If you get there by car, please, make a reservation to park you car. It is for free but there are only 10 parkings spots on the premises.
We would go there again :)

Booked 2 apartments here on a grand final saturday night to attend a nearby family function . This was the cheapest apartment option in South Yarra on Agoda at the time. Both the ground floor ( double) and the second floor apartment ( queen and single in one large bedroom) were spacious , spotlessly clean, quiet and well equipped with comfortable well made beds ,tea and coffee making equipment, fluffy white towels and pump dispenser toiletries. We noted extra pillows , blankets heater and a clothes drying rack in the wardrobe. There was a wall attached hair dryer and extra electrical sockets in the bathroom. We didn't use the kitchen however it appeared to have all you might need to prepare a meal.The living area was comfortable with 2 x 2 seater couches a small dining table TV and desk.There are no views from the apartments which do run all the way down to the back of South Yarra station. The walls are a little scuffed, the decor is pastel 90s and the living room carpet didn't quite reach the wall ( a skirting board would have concealed that). None of that mattered to us as overall these apartments are in a great location, represent excellent value for money and are managed by a friendly and efficient team. Would definitely stay there again.

Just here for one night to attend a concert. The apartments are in an excellent location with plenty of public transport at hand, just around the corner from railway station and tram stop. Free wifi and a car parking space provided. Apartment itself is perhaps a little dated decor wise but clean and comfortable never the less. Large apartment and good value for money. Reception staff very pleasant, helpful and efficient. Would stay here again if the need arose.

Not a bad apartment - quite spacious but certainly not top drawer. Decor is dated and in need of a refresh, but the apartment was clean.
Wifi was good and the bed comfortable. My biggest negative was the shower over the narrow bath.
Parking was available on-site and the location in South Yarra is brilliant - very close to train and trams

Our welcome began well before arrival with e mails from staff regarding the need for a parking space. We were able to check in an hour early and had been upgraded to a larger apartment. Customer service at its best.
Apartment was spacious and very clean. Kitchenette was well stocked with crockery, cutlery and pots. Bed and pillows were comfy, bedding and towels of good quality. Good WiFi connection and tv stations. Free laundry available and they even supply detergent.
Location is excellent with anything you need in the locall area and next to the railway station. Amazing value to be so near to the city.
Would stay again and highly recommend.

Absolutely in the midst of South Yarra. Great location and easily accessible. The staff were very friendly! And it does have laundry facilities as well 😀.

Darling apartment having cozy room, very convinient to shops. In 2 mins walking distance you can find convinient shops, good restaurants for meals, train station, etc.
Problem is without lift to move luggages which is very inconvinient for us, especially 11 of us having big luggages. Even though the reception (a girl) offered to help us, but we dare not trouble her (a small size girl).
Another problem is the sound proof is very bad. I cannot sleep the whole night due to noise from the road repair and middle night people moving out, believe taking night flight with their luggages dragging & bangging down the staircase.
If you don't have big baggage and sleep well with noise, it's very convinient place for move-about.
Wifi is available in room, but not functioning well. Speed also not so good.

Very convenient location, cheaper than a hotel, and you have your own self-contained apartment. Free wifi and parking, laundry facilities on-site with free powder and machines, and quite spacious. No views. Really liked it for the price. Clean, lovely staff, would definitely go back. NOTe that it is marketed to the Japanese, so I was the only non-Asian there, but could not care less, everyone was friendly and it was well worth it. All signage in japanese and english. Oh and beds also were HEAVEN. Apartments are dates, but functional. Like walking into about 1994. WHo cares when you have loads of space and everything you need, right down to the bottle opener, cutlery, microwave etc.

We were 3 adults in an apartment with a queen bed plus 2 singles, staying 3 days in September.
This place ticks a lot of boxes for comfort, cleanliness, location, facilities and helpful staff. The apartment included a bar fridge, very good oven, microwave, kettle and toaster with adequate crockery, cutlery and accessories. The beds were good quality as was the linen. The TV and DVD were newish and the seating was fine.
The room was very clean but hadn't been refreshed or modernised for some time. But there is (or should be) a limit to what a traveler is entitled to expect in this price range and in such a cutthroat industry. If you want 5 star luxe on the cheap then you're looking in the wrong place.
There is, however, a price to pay for great access to the city and many other places. As others have mentioned, the apartments back onto South Yarra train station and are a very short walk from Toorak Road. Expect noise. There is some attempt at soundproofing the windows, which worked well for our good sleepers, but if you're not a sound sleeper then you might struggle a bit. If you're worried, ask for a room in the "A" wing, which is further away from the station (we were in the "B" wing).
Car parking is limited but great if you can get it.
Overall, I'd rate it as excellent accommodation and good value for the money.

The Darling apts are located in a prime position. Park the car (free parking at apts) and use public transport which is literally a 2 min walk to the station & tram stop or walk into city. Apt was a little tried and could do with an upgrade but It has everything you need for your stay. Bathroom with bath and a kitchen with basics for a cooked meal in. Also has a laundry onsite if you need it.

There were just two of us and we found there was more than enough equipment - probably more than most self catering places in my experience. The free wifi was not great on our first visit ( we stayed there twice, before and after a trip to Tasmania) but we were down stairs. The second apartment was on a higher floor and there were very few problems with it. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant and they kept our main luggage for the 6 days between stays which was great. I would definitely stay here again as it is so close to the station, shops, bars and restaurants in South Yarra - very clean too.
As above we were asked to pay full amount on arrival. This is pretty standard practice in a lot of places.
