Just got back from a weekend stay here and absolutely love this hotet. I am disappointed I have discovered it sooner. Was in arguably on of the best spots in Melbourne CBD away from all the hustle but still easy to get everywhere. The street was very quiet, being on Little Collins so you don’t need to worry about cars. Very close to Fitzroy Gardens which is a nice walking spot.

The hotel itself is very modern, and tastefully decorated. I love the boutique feeling it has and all staff were very friendly, was granted an early check in and late check out, plus put in a high floor room. Little Collins St Kitchen was great for an evening drink and they had happy hour from 4-6 making it quite inexpensive. Breakfast selection was also good.

Rooms are very modern and spacious which was a big plus as many new hotels are being built with tiny rooms. Bedding was fantastic and very comfortable. Bathroom had a big bath which was also a plus.

The pool was great and not too crowded! The only downside of this entire hotel, is the robe and slippers didn’t fit me (6”3, so can be expected). Not sure if they offer larger sizes on request.

I will definitely be booking again for another staycation as it ticked all the boxes and more. As mentioned, disappointed it took me this long to discover this hotel!

My family of 5 spent 2 nights at the Sheraton Melbourne recently. We regularly travel to Melbourne for city 'mini-breaks' and tried Sheraton for the first time this past weekend.

We were immediately impressed with such a warm welcome from various staff, by the time I'd finished checking in another staff member had helped my husband and kids by arranging for them to help themselves to a free ice cream scoop bar, whilst taking our luggage to our room whilst they did this.

There was an issue with our room, which was a result of a website issue providing the wrong photos of a room to the type we had booked. The manager was apologetic and upgraded our room to align with our expectations based on the website images without delay.

The pool was as pictured, on the smaller side but perfectly fine and kept the kids very happy. The seating around the pool was comfy and it was stocked with lots of fresh towels.

We were pleasantly surprised that all 3 of our kids ate free at the buffet breakfast as they are under 12. That makes a huge difference to eating out costs and turned into what usually is a big expense into a beautiful breakfast that costed us less than what we'd usually spend at a cafe for our size family.

In terms of the location, we thought it was great. We loved strolling through the treasury and Fitzroy gardens, and eating out in China town.

All in all a lovely weekend away, made even easier with a car park across the road and by staying at a hotel that made families feel welcomed with their extra little touches and fantastic customer service (which is not always the case!). Thank you!

My partner and I had a one night stay here with 3pm check-in and 11am checkout. We booked through bookings com and recipient a great price. The deal includes a glass of sparkling wine on arrival with canapes and drinks from 5 to 6 in the restaurant. I must say a special thanks to the restaurant manager Ricky, what an amazing chap, so friendly and helpful, a true asset to the hotel☺️ and compliments the rest of the fantastic staff.
The facilities are awesome, the pool, spa and steam room are lovely to relax in and meet other like minded people. This is attached to the rooftop bar where you can order food and drinks via a QR code, then the friendly staff bring it up to you. It also has a well appointed gym. There are shower facilities and lots of towels to use.
We stayed in the superior king room. I must say the window, or rather glass wall separating the bed and bathroom is a bit weird but does have a blind for privacy, the controls are next to the toilet, I did only find it when sitting on the toilet, wondering what this notion does, so I pushed it as you do, and the blind started descending 😆.
There are coffee and tea provided including a plunger but no ground coffee 🤔, they do provide t coffee bags that you could use but I don't see the point lol and freeze dried instant coffee so really the plunger is useless.
There is no minibar but room service is fast with great options, although they don't seem to like supplying you with salt and pepper for some reason. I did mention this to them, so hopefully they will from now. The food is off a high standards and not overly expensive, especially for a 5 star hotel.
We had a bath and a large shower area with a large shower head and handheld shower, and a single basin. The bench space is lacking but manageable and the hair dryer.. well best to bring your own. I can blow harder😆💨. There's an iron and ironing board, also the usual safe.
The bed was very comfortable, it only lacked extra pillows. They need a pillow menu, or maybe they do, it's just not made very obvious, and I'm sure you could request more from reception. After all they are very helpful.
The climate control is also very hard to work out, I didn't find any instruction for it and just pressing buttons didn't seem to work. Instructions on the wall next to the controller wouldn't go astray.
All in all the rooms are very clean and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Best part of Sheraton experience is Marriot Bonvoy program. I was welcomed, was told I got an upgrade. I see that post visit my 5 days are loaded to my MB membership. This is the good part, and it’s Marriot Bonvoy program that drew me to Sheraton.

Now here are some opportunities. I got an upgrade as MB, I have been in Marriot Manila, W Bangkok, ITC Grand Chola Chennai.. you will see my reviews on what maketh an upgrade, though I understand it’s a privilege of a member and not a right. However, I thank the guest relations manager signed note and confectionery compliment and prompt offer of 1000 MB points. Need to think why I say a lot with my family for event personal stays within Asia more. Specifically , having couches that are stained is not ‘Sheraton’, especially when we say the room is an upgrade. Let alone the room size.

Larger issue is scant disregard for vegetarian options, this is not a Sheraton issue. This is more the industry issue .. how much longer will a vegetarian have to wait to get a decent fill at a 5 star breakfast spread. I see acknowledgement of Vegan, but not so much vegetarian. I was even in a dinner event, where there was hardly anything except salads. Fortunately, one of the team serving understood and got something done for us so we have somethjng to fill ourselves. You need to wake up for international traveler need and a changing mix within.

I understand the cost of labour and that you cannot match asia like services, but isn’t that cost arbitrage in room charges already. Adding 5% more on your already premium first world cost doesn’t make a difference to an international traveler, but absence of services is stark and stands out. Everytime I dread if the pressind iron in room works as I always arrive near midnight on a weekend night and need my clothes pressed, my experience 1 out of 3 times it won’t work and getting a service that late and a weekend night isn’t easy or convenient for any. Please invest in getting people, learn from Asia. We are significantly used to services and absence of those hits us hard and makes us less productive.

You have a choice to change it, understand your customer needs and don’t assume what you offered 10 years back as breakfast spread and services is ok today with changing mix of travelers . Or be ready to lose business to someone who will.

Poor, lacking and confused service.

Currently still checked in and a little disappointed with our Sheraton experience.

Hotels and companies in general need to drop the covid excuse for why reduced services and start owning up to the cost saving intent behind such poor customer experiences.

First issue was on day of check in (not check in the receptionist was extremely pleasant and helpful). We went up to the pool and sought to use the terrace bar to have a few drinks by the pool. A seemingly normal thing to do when on break. The bar is shut and being used as a store room/construction site and you need to order off a QR code (everything is QR code - no staff required =savings). Order some beers, cocktails and snack and given we were going to consume by the pool we asked for plastic cups (we are not idiots).

Drinks arrived a lot and we told that the “spa” said not drinking in the pool as there were children in there. This is international hotel chain not a childcare centre and the rules were quite clear on the pool wall this wasn’t stated. The lady serving us was apologetic but it wasn’t her fault not was it the fault of the person on the phone who I confirmed this was ok with.

It appears the hotel has gotten by during covid by advertising this place as a stay-cation hotel for cheap deals and cramming in locals and their kids into every crevice of the joint.

Second item was housekeeping and one can only conclude cost saving. It’s a weekend and we sleep in…fair enough. But with 4 of us in a room we still want our room made up when we leave. New towels etc. we left our room at 11.30am and apparently that was too late for our room to be made up so we come back to our room with our wet towels still on the floor and fill rubbish bins.

I travel to Melbourne and elsewhere for work a lot. Usually stay at the Hilton but we had too many people for their rooms to accommodate in a single room. I know what’s covid enforced and what is simply cost saving and a poor customer experience.

I sincerely worry about the older generations that want to order some room service and get told to use a QR code because when you call them on the phone they ring out and/or hang up.

Next time will spend the extra $$ and book 2 rooms at the Hilton and give my money to another hotel chain.

We found this hotel excellent. The location is very central, a street away from the nearest tram stop on Spring Street, which is within the CBD (and hence all tram usage is free). There are loads of restaurants and cafe's nearby by too. The Concierge team were very helpful (especially Oscar), and helped us get oriented. We got a complimentary class of wine too on arrival in Reception. The room, 610, was more that large enough for the 3 of us. (Note, not all rooms are the same size.) It was very clean too. The drinking water was provided each day. We didn't eat in the restaurant, as we follow a plant based diet, and there are more cost effective options nearby. We didn't use the gym or fitness room either, as we were too busy checking out Melbourne.

If you’re planning a relaxing and indulgent day out, then look no further than the spa and dining package at the Sheraton Hotel. On Wednesday April 10th 2024 my friend and I were treated to five star luxury! Upon arrival, we were each escorted to our private treatment rooms which included mood lighting, a heated massage therapy couch, dozens of fluffy white towels, a warm foot bath, a private shower, toiletries and of course, a soft and comfortable robe. After changing into our bathers, we made our way to the pool, hydro spa and steam room area. Very nice indeed, though the temperature of the water was a little too cool for us! After drying off and before our massage, we were offered a selection of herbal teas and snacks which were served to us by Mary. This was followed by a truly relaxing massage. My therapist Mye was extremely polite, non intrusive and extremely skilful. It was the best massage I’ve ever had! Our massage was followed by a delicious two course lunch in the hotel’s restaurant on the first floor, which also included a glass of wine. The perfect end to a memorable day.

I’ve had a similar spa and dining experience at another top end Melbourne hotel, but I can truthfully say that the Sheraton exceeded it by far!

Thank you to Raquel, Mary and Mye.
You ensured that our one special day of pampering did not disappoint! We’ll be back!

This hotel is superb. Everything was perfect from the time we walked in the door and were greeted with the smiling face of Rhythm, the manager, who straight away put two glasses of orange juice on the counter. Our room was beautiful, the kitchen is fabulous. But the best thing about this hotel is the staff - faultless. Everyone is kind, helpful, everything attended to with efficiency and a smile. Sunil, the bar manager, knows exactly what you need when you arrive at the hotel exhausted after a day of travelling. The kitchen staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. The spa and massage was fabulous. Can't wait to return next year for the AO tennis.

We had a good stay here with just a couple of small niggles.

The Pros: Nice, clean and modern rooms. Especially appreciated having a separate shower that you don't have to climb into the bath to get into. The pool was good and we also had a nice drink on the Terrace Bar. Breakfast is a good spread and enjoyable.

The Cons: Paid extra for a Superior room with a view, problem was it has no view except for the tops of other buildings as obviously the Melbourne Club has made them put screens half way up the windows to stop guests looking into the club. Also we had a standard no view superior room for our kids and this base room was bigger in size than the one we paid extra for. Don't pay extra for a view it is not worth it. One of the elevators was out meaning long wait times for the lifts. Also seemed to be some confusion on checkout although this was not a big hassle.

In all a solid hotel and we would stay again.
