Our room was ok, nice with refrigerator, TV and kettle. The shared bathrooms and showers were clean, enough hot water, etc. the people working here were very helpful, check in and check out effective. More hostel than hotel. On the down side, the ceilings in the room was peeling, with a fair bit of black mold. Poor ventilation in the showers also. From the pictures we were expecting a roof terrace where we could sit for coffee etc. the terrace is really poorly maintained, rotting sofas, a bit of garbage here. This really needs a fix-up, as the picture of the terrace in the online booking looks nothing like it really is!
A good budget option in Melbourne's CBD. Everything is there - comfortable sleeping at considerably less than the expense of established hotels. The shared bathroom/toilet facilities are extensive, spacious and well maintained. Check in was efficient. The place was quiet.
This hotel is located at the upper end of Little Collins Street near Parluament station.Trams are very conveniently located in either Collins or Bourke Streets, one street either way. Like many budget hotels, facilities are shared. However, I found the facilities always clean. There is no lift in this hotel, and no room to install one. My arthritis made it difficult to negotiate the stairs, so my room was changed to a lower floor on arrival when Management noticed this. Thanks!
PROS: The hotel is close to Parliament station, tram stop, Priceline pharmacy and a couple of eateries, so I find the location quite convenient. The staffs at the counter were quite friendly and helpful. CONS: The bedside tables were quite dirty when I checked in. THINGS THAT PEOPLE MAY WANT TO KNOW (Neither pros or cons): There's no lift or elevator within the hotel, but the front desk staff did offer to help me with my luggage. Bathrooms are all communal and located outside the bedrooms. I would recommend this budget hotel to travelers who are tight on budget but still want to have their own room.
Was handy to the city centre and only a short distance to south wharf. City transport is readily available. Weather permitting just a short walk in any direction finds plenty of things to see and do. Pending on your interests . Room was clean and tidy. As you are only sleeping there it's good value for your dollar.
