This is great value. In the City near Dock lands . Trams at the door. Noisy as hell but it's the city after all. Basic facilities & could for with a makeover. Very little tea/coffee in room. The free tram takes us around the city to give an idea of where to go. It's OK.

Nice place. We had an apartment with a bath (but no plug), and a teensy balcony (not enough room for a chair and table), but a great view. Kichen was ok, but really needed more equipment to utilize it(fry pan, oven tray, decent knife to cut things with), and to make the most of the amazing produce at the nearby... More

Room was so dirty and smelt like stale cigarettes! There was hair and dirt in the shower. Also there was alot of renovations needed. Plaster coming off walls, etc. Also you have a lovely view of the prison from your balcony. On the plus side the reception staff were friendly and was close to an outlet mall and the train... More

The only reason I give this even two stars was the duty manager who was excellent on check in. Other than that..... It's cheap! We are used to staying in Melbourne and the sound of the city but this was just incredible! I don't think any of us slept for longer than two hours at a time. The rubbish truck... More

Booked a 3 bedroom apartment for 2 nights. Friendly welcome with an an upgrade to "penthouse" on arrival .... little confusing as was on the top floor but was a 3 bedroom apartment as booked. Room was clean but seemed a little unused with a smell from drainage and no deck furniture on the deck. Bonus was very little street... More

Great location, convenient to train and tram routes. Free tram stops outside. Very comfortable and great value. Makes a stay in Melbourne quite affordable. Trams a bit noisy at night though, but only gripe. Would stay again.

Very friendly staff. Clean comfortable room but it could do with a fresh coat of paint. Plenty of space in the family apartment and we did have a harbour view if we stood on the balcony and looked down the street. The free CBD tram stop right outside the hotel but it is also noisy at night. The twin room... More

The room we had was spacious but modestly furnished, the kitchenette was not well stocked with cooking utensils not that we needed them but someone on a long term stay might. The queen size bed was very firm. The heating worked well. We were located in a 5th floor room at the front of the hotel, there is a tram... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
