Stayed at this practical hotel for a few days. Pros -Queen Vic's just 1-2 mins away, so fresh food & fruits if you want to cook your own meals. Rooms have kitchenettes. You may want to get some more detergent & cleaning cloth though if you want to cook for many days. -A short 1 min walk to the free...

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights mid November. The reception and room service staff were efficient and friendly. The hotel is well located, almost directly across the road from Queen Victoria markets, and very handy to the free CBD tram system. Apart from the noise of the person walking around in the room above(which was overly intrusive...

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The people at reception were helpful and friendly and checkin was fast. Although the reception area is small, my room was quite spacious with a kitchenette and other facilities. It was bright and clean. the view from my room on the 12th floor, was out to the west of the city. At...

Unfortunately here for multiple nights, walls are ridiculously thin so every bit of noise comes through. People walking on the floor above sounded like a tap dancing troupe. Cooking smells permeated the hallways every night not sure where they came from. Not somewhere I'll stay again

we booked a twin share room specifically asked for twin beds and had the hotel confirm that twin beds would be available before confirming the booking. On arrival late at night we we're told there we're not twin beds available (two females had to sleep together on a double bed) however we would be given twin beds the next day...

Dear lexiTasmania, Thank you for your feedback. We had you booked through a travel agent for a queen room with a request for a twin, subject to availability. We were fully booked on the twin category with our other guests and were unable to fulfill your special request. I understand that our team and your travel agent were able to...

Underwhelming is the word that comes into my mind. Not great, not bad. This place feels like it come out of a hotel room manufacturing machine. Little ambiance but clean and tidy. Don't get me wrong I have stayed at worse places but I was expecting better for the price. The room was quite small but did have a kitchenette...

We stayed here because of its proximity to Etihad Stadium where we were attending an event (we were able to walk). It's close to the main strip of cafes and around the corner from Old Melbourne Gaol (which we also took advantage of). The rooms are modern and are fully equipped to self-cater if you want to save some money....

Enjoyed my three nights - great location on the CBD fringe. Easy access to Swanston Street and the heart of Melbourne CBD. Also easy walking distance to Fitzroy and Melbourne University. The only thing going for this hotel is its location. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
