Stayed at the Pullman/Mercure Albert Park for the Aus F1 GP. A very busy time for the hotel but the basics worked well, good check in, no wait for bfast etc. The hotel is F1 themed over the GP weekend with activations which aid the excitement, in the evenings when you return from the race they have some cocktail events which is a nice gesture as you are paying x3/x4 and up on the normal daily rate to stay during the F1 weekend.
This part however is only aimed at those who drink alcohol and the manager on duty is not prepared to involve those unable to drink. I had a back operation 4 weeks ago and cannot drink alcohol due to my meds. The first evening (Friday)I arrived was a cocktail master class. I entered the area and was offered a canapé, check, unfortunatelyI can’t eat gluten but that’s fine. I then asked about any non alcoholic drink. None available, okay I am not paying fair enough, on the table I see another tray of hand outs that were bocconcini and water melon, yay somethingI can have. So I asked the Gent in charge, sorry I don’t drink but may I have a one of those? I was surprised when he said, “No, those are only for the masterclass (the name of the event). He knew I could not drink, I did not feel a need to explain every other Canapé contained gluten. I left as was made unwelcome. Any way Saturday I get back and there is another promo, advertised as dilmah and some other brand I don’t know. I’ll give them another chance…So I join the queue. A waiter offers a canapé, I can’t eat it, not the hotels fault, the gluten things not easy to cater for and I don’t expect it. , but I ask him, can I have the drink being mixed with out the alcohol as I don’t want to stand in line for nothing. He says I am sure you can but I’ll ask. Poor guy comes back to me and sheepishly says sorry the Manager says “No”. I left again. I am an Accor member, feedback is that your event did the opposite of inspiring loyalty.
I am okay that you give away what ever you want it is your right. I was surprised if I don’t drink as a guest I am not welcome to the other things on offer.
I’d still recommend you stay in the hotel during the F1 weekend as it is fantastic to stay so close and you might get a track view. The staff in the restaurant are lovely.

We were in Melbourne to spend Christmas with family. Our overall experience was average due to our room. We booked The Loft thinking it has a kitchenette. Our room didn't have it and as we re-read the room description, we learned that kitchen is only available in "selected rooms". The room is clean but basic. The room does not have any art work on the walls, there was a lot of echo when we talked. The bed was comfy but we only had 2 pillows (1 pillow each) and they were very "flat". Our room was facing another building so was dark and not as bright as the promotional photos. Our bedroom is very spacious with only the bed and TV in the room. It could do with a little bit more furnitures to add warmth (perhaps a small lounge and small table)
On the positive, the Staffs are all very nice and provide great services. Special mention to "Mabelle" at the Bar for looking after us on Boxing day.
Other highlights are: Gym -- very well equipped with new machines, one of the best I've seen on our travels. Pool, jacuzzi, Sauna -- was nice inclusion and relaxing. Indoor and heated pool would be really good when you are there in winter. Sauna is separate and is in Men's and Women's washroom. Towels are provided as you go in the fitness center Water -- 2 water stations where you can fill your water bottle at the gym or by the reception

The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel was very busy and it was chaos ordering food and drinks. More staff needed to cope with the rush plus cleaning staff as lounge tables, carpet area and rubbish bins needed constant attention. Staff were friendly. Trying to contact any department by telephone was impossible. No one ever answered the phone. We appreciated a late check-out. We had to pay for four nights on arrival plus a $200 bond. On check out we were promised return of the bond within four hours. Three days later no bond has appeared. Would we book again...not sure 50/50 chance.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Melbourne Albert Park, and as a loyal Accor member, I was incredibly disappointed with my experience. This stay fell far below the standards I’ve come to expect from Accor properties.
First Room: The first room I was assigned was completely unacceptable. It was filthy, with mould and grime in the bathroom, stains on the desk and coffee table, and badly chipped paint. The lack of basic cleanliness was shocking.
Second Room: After reporting the condition of the first room, I was moved to a second room. While it was cleaner, it had serious issues: the shower flooded every morning, and the air conditioning didn’t work, leaving the room uncomfortably warm.
Additional Room: During one of the weekends, I booked a second room. Unfortunately, this room also had cleaning issues, and like my second room, the air conditioning was non-functional. These problems clearly reflect broader issues with maintenance and cleanliness at the property.
Room Service: The daily room service was mediocre when it happened. However, on several days, my room was not serviced at all, which was unacceptable.
Post-Stay Issues: After leaving, I reached out to Accor to resolve an overcharging issue, but I have yet to receive any response. When booking, I was incorrectly advised that my Platinum membership did not include free breakfast, so I purchased a package with breakfast included. Later, I discovered that breakfast was included with my membership, and I contacted Accor for reimbursement of the additional cost incurred due to this incorrect advice. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, I have been ignored, which has been both frustrating and unprofessional.
Lobby Experience: While sitting in the lobby, I felt uncomfortable, as I got the impression that some staff members were talking about me. I could see them looking over, quickly looking down when spotted, and then continuing their conversation. This behaviour, whether intentional or not, created an unwelcoming and unprofessional atmosphere.
Service – The Saving Grace: The one highlight of my stay was the team at Windows Restaurant. They were consistently amazing and friendly every morning, providing exceptional service that stood in stark contrast to the rest of the hotel experience. Their professionalism and warmth were greatly appreciated.
Facilities and Value: While the hotel is conveniently located near Albert Park, this doesn’t compensate for the poor room conditions, non-functional amenities, inconsistent service, and lack of post-stay support from Accor.
Overall: As a loyal Accor member, I expect far better from an Accor property. This stay was extremely disappointing, with the wonderful team at Windows Restaurant being the only saving grace. The combination of cleanliness issues, maintenance failures, post-stay frustration, and unprofessional behaviour from some staff has left me disillusioned with this property. Significant improvements are urgently needed.

Don’t be fooled by the facade or the foyer, it goes downhill from here faster than lead balloon!! $600 for 2 nights, $50 parking AND an out of pocket $100 bond! No air conditioning so far in the three hours here, and a rock band playing live in the hotel that sounds like it is in the room next door! Not to mention being located in the fourth floor!! No air conditioning due to an alarm earlier on in the day and ongoing investigation has lead to ALL climate control to be shut off and cooling stopped! Would have been helpful to be informed of these issues on check in. When calling up about an ETA as it is like the Sahara in the room, a curt response of we are looking into it and being hung upon was the reply! In the room there is what seems to be blood stains, yes, BLOOD STAINS on the wall, skirting boards coming away from the wall, holes with random dowels in them, bed frames scratched to all hell, tile sin the bathroom coming away from the wall sheeting and other small issues that make this room a $120 stay at best! Would have to be the poorest example of a Mercure/Accor facility known!! See the photos to support my review and avoid this place.

We had a great one night stay here, the location is great, and the pool and spa area were a lovely treat. The hotel staff we met were very friendly. The parking is very convenient however it is 25 dollars a day which could be expensive on a long trip. The location is great with the tram stops very close and the park over the road. We found the beds very comfortable and had a great night's sleep. The bathroom did look a bit tired, and our room carpet definitely needed replacing as it had rips in it. When we return to Melbourne, we will definitely look at booking here again! Thank you for a nice stay, Room 4503, in the Pullman tower.

We had a three night stay in June 2022. From the minute we arrived the hotel was grubby and tired looking. Chips out of walls and pillars, thread bare carpet and old furnishings. When we arrived the room was a very warm 23 degrees, over night it plummeted to 18 degrees and we both froze. No extra blankets in the room. We had to complain 3 times to get them to look into the air temp and were told that it was centrally controlled. Walking to reception to complain the third time I passed a staff member talking to another saying they had received 4 complaints in the last hour.
The air temp was fixed by the time we went to sleep on the second night but there was a hifi conference in the hotel and the base of the music kept us awake until very late and started again at 7am. We complained and they said no one else mentioned it to them.
The car parking is also a trap. On their site it says you can pay to park there for $20 a day or use valet parking for $35 a day. This was not quite accurate, the $20 covers one exit per day, it is $20 per exit if you come and go as we did. So we were forced to go with the valet parking. Twice they forgot about us or didn’t communicate with each other and we stood for ages waiting before going in and asking again. Not good enough for this so called service.
After returning from a funeral on the third evening, the reason for our trip, the music was still blaring. I called reception, who didn’t question my concern and offered to change our room ‘if we really couldn’t cope with it”. Despite being in our pj’s and in the middle of dinner, we had to pack up and move.
The new room looked directly into other hotel rooms and had paper thin walls. There was a family next to us and they were trying to wrangle their children to put them to bed, this went on for an hour and a half.
The shower I. Both room went hot and cold without warning.
The only positive thing is that the staff were polite.
The quality of this hotel was incredibly poor. Not only will we never stay here again, we will never stay in a Mercure hotel. I’d rather sleep in the hire car.

Went for a function and stayed overnight. The service was disgusting. They didn’t understand what you were asking for the curtains in the function room where we were had big stains all over them it was disgusting. The room was so hot you were just pouring with sweat. The air-conditioner wasn’t on the next day for breakfast as well. That was absolutely disgusting. There were flies all in these baskets that weren’t covered. The scrambles eggs were soggy, the toaster, only burnt one side of the bread, the bacon was cold. The meat was warm would not recommend anybody to go to this hotel. It was really really bad

This hotel has 2 brands - Mercure and Pullman. Same concierge and bar but different towers for each brand. We have stayed in Pullman previously and found facilities to an excellent standard including bathrooms, hallways and lifts. This weekend was our first stay in the Mercure tower and we just needed a quick getaway as had a function nearby. We found the room perfectly fine. It was basic and not to the Pullman tower standard but good enough for us. Room was spacious with a couch and king size bed. Bathroom did have the shower over a bath which we did not like but everything was clean and all acceptable for a 3 star hotel. The hallways and lift on the Mercure Tower are in desperate need of an overhaul with just a cleanup making a difference. As our previous stay the staff at the Pullman /Mercure are all wonderful and welcoming - this includes the bar and restaurant staff. We got an exceptionally good deal on the Mercure side and after our recent trip will not worry about staying there again.

Worked out why we thought we are experiencing an earthquake - the 3 day Hi-Fi Show occupies the entire 2 floors directly below us. It's certainly an immersive experience. Why did someone think it was a good idea to let rooms directly above a full-floor HiFi spectacular?
Had to get out and wander the streets; returned at 3:30pm, someone got distracted!! The curtains were drawn, but nothing else done....found some maids in the hallway to ask for clean towels.
Looking for Basil Fawlty behind the desk....
