Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for the Australia Day weekend, I cannot fault our stay. Check in was easy and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The outside of the building does not represent the quality of the lovely rooms that were nicely furnished and had the most comfortable beds. The water pressure was great and consistent, much better than many other hotels I've stayed at. For myself and 2 adult children it was exactly what we needed with enough room to be comfortable. Public transport was close, a tram stops almost outside the hotel and a train station around 3 mins walk away and also a 7/11 opposite. There is also a large amount of shops and dining choices only minutes tram ride away. This hotel is not in the CBD but close enough to be there within a 15min train ride or around 20mins in an Uber. Was so happy with our stay here and we definitely will stay again.

Conveniently close to transport and some Melbourne attractions like the zoo, museum, Queen Victoria Markets etc, cleaned regularly, the only bad point I have with this place is that there are only stairs to access the higher rooms and No lifts which is no good for people that are unfit, asthmatic, with mobility issues etc

We chose this motel as it has secure parking at no extra cost. We found the room (up above the car via stairs) clean and tidy with an updated bathroom and everything needed for a one night stay. Access off the busy road isnt that easy but a slow approach helped. Great value. Staff were helpful.

The 1 bedroom apartment was very clean and functional. We stayed here for 6 nights and had everything we needed. The only reason I didn’t give a 5/5 rating was the couch was pretty uncomfortable to sit in but this is a small complaint. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was crisp and clean. The location was perfect for getting to anywhere in Melbourne with 2 tram stops and a train station within a 3 minute walk. Having somewhere to park our car that is secure was our main reason for choosing it and everything else was a bonus. It may not be the prettiest place but the apartment was lovely. There are lots of stairs so if you have mobility issues this wouldn’t be a great choice.

Room Tip: The main tip would be that it is not a place to stay if you have mobility issues.

Stayed for two nights on a family trip to Melbourne to see Disney on Ice. Great location, affordable family accommodation. Staff were on-site and very friendly and helpful. Easy to drive to, tram stop right out the front. Clean, welcoming apartments, free on-site car parking.

This place is absolutely terrible. The two women at the front desk had shocking customer service skills. They were extremely rude, the motel itself was dirty, uncomfortable, not secure at all, and it’s annoying to get into due to the traffic out the front. We had left a pair of shoes at the motel, and after being abused on the phone by both women from the front desk, they now refuse to have the shoes sent back to us, and will not answer phone. I couldn’t possibly stress how bad this motel is. The photos also don’t match the property itself, there’s a shared microwave for everyone in the motel to use which is located outside in the carpark. Don’t bother asking for early check in or late check out because this won’t be organised at all. Overall hated the stay here and I will not be coming back. I’ll be making sure all my friends and family know not to stay here either. The headache is not worth a single cent.

Park Squire Motor Inn and Serviced Apartments We stayed here for 1 night as we live in the country and had a wedding to attend in Ascot Vale. We originally thought we would catch the tram outside the motel to the venue but ended up getting a taxi because I’m really too old to be wearing high heels! It was great that we could leave our car in the secure car park. The motel is situated on an extremely busy road and intersection so we were worried about the noise. We COULD hear the traffic noise in the distance but not as bad as I thought it would be. And we didn’t hear anything at night. All the rooms that I could see were up a flight of stairs with no lift which would be problematic for people with mobility issues. I do believe they have some ground floor accomodation but didn’t see it. It was fine for us in our 70s. Check in was easy with the friendly staff and we set off to find our room. To tell the truth, the exterior has seen better days. I remember the motel back in the 60s! But we were pleasantly surprised on finding our room. It looked clean and modern. There was a queen and a single bed. I don’t know what sort of room description to give it. I thought we had just booked an ordinary room. There was a reasonably sized TV, 2 club chairs, a fridge and coffee making facilities. We were also happy about the free wifi. The beds were comfortable for us as we like a medium mattress. The bathroom was modern and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will stay here again.

Hi Barb Thanks for staying with us and sharing your review. Apartment section is at the back of the property so it should be fare quite during the night time. Ground Floor Apartment is available but it is better to let us know beforehand especially during the busy weekend. We normally save ground floor apartment to last minute in case anyone need it. We will work the exterior hopefully soon. Wish to see you soon in the future.

We did not expect much for the price we paid - just a room with a bed. The room was very clean and spacious. There was free parking, which is a welcome bonus anywhere near Melbourne. The shower was exceptional - great pressure and temperature. The location is a funny old spot - right in the middle of the hectic Flemington road/Royal Park/Citylink intersection, but that doesn’t cause too much distress.

We stayed overnight here and were pleased with our choice. They moved us to a quieter room at check in and it was quiet away from the busy road at the front. The room was clean and fairly modern with comfortable heating and bedding. We had a function to attend nearby and the tram stop was only a couple of minutes walk and there were a variety of food choices available along the tram route, the only negative was that the motel didn’t have a restaurant.
