Detailed Reviews
Park Squire Motor Inn and Serviced Apartments
We stayed here for 1 night as we live in the country and had a wedding to attend in Ascot Vale. We originally thought we would catch the tram outside the motel to the venue but ended up getting a taxi because I’m really too old to be wearing high heels! It was great that we could leave our car in the secure car park.
The motel is situated on an extremely busy road and intersection so we were worried about the noise. We COULD hear the traffic noise in the distance but not as bad as I thought it would be. And we didn’t hear anything at night.
All the rooms that I could see were up a flight of stairs with no lift which would be problematic for people with mobility issues. I do believe they have some ground floor accomodation but didn’t see it. It was fine for us in our 70s.
Check in was easy with the friendly staff and we set off to find our room. To tell the truth, the exterior has seen better days. I remember the motel back in the 60s! But we were pleasantly surprised on finding our room. It looked clean and modern. There was a queen and a single bed. I don’t know what sort of room description to give it. I thought we had just booked an ordinary room. There was a reasonably sized TV, 2 club chairs, a fridge and coffee making facilities. We were also happy about the free wifi. The beds were comfortable for us as we like a medium mattress. The bathroom was modern and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will stay here again.

Hi Barb Thanks for staying with us and sharing your review. Apartment section is at the back of the property so it should be fare quite during the night time. Ground Floor Apartment is available but it is better to let us know beforehand especially during the busy weekend. We normally save ground floor apartment to last minute in case anyone need it. We will work the exterior hopefully soon. Wish to see you soon in the future.

The 1 bedroom apartment was very clean and functional. We stayed here for 6 nights and had everything we needed. The only reason I didn’t give a 5/5 rating was the couch was pretty uncomfortable to sit in but this is a small complaint. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was crisp and clean. The location was perfect for getting to anywhere in Melbourne with 2 tram stops and a train station within a 3 minute walk. Having somewhere to park our car that is secure was our main reason for choosing it and everything else was a bonus. It may not be the prettiest place but the apartment was lovely. There are lots of stairs so if you have mobility issues this wouldn’t be a great choice.

Room Tip:Â The main tip would be that it is not a place to stay if you have mobility issues.

We did not expect much for the price we paid - just a room with a bed. The room was very clean and spacious. There was free parking, which is a welcome bonus anywhere near Melbourne. The shower was exceptional - great pressure and temperature.
The location is a funny old spot - right in the middle of the hectic Flemington road/Royal Park/Citylink intersection, but that doesn’t cause too much distress.

Dear EiDee Thanks for sharing your review. Parking in big city is always costly , this is the reason we offer free parking to all our customer so they can save money and spend it for meal and entertainment. Cleanliness is always the priority in our house keeping list because this is the first thing that everyone would consider when choosing a place to stay. Thanks again for staying with us and wish to see you soon in the future.

Stayed here for the Australia Day weekend, I cannot fault our stay. Check in was easy and the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The outside of the building does not represent the quality of the lovely rooms that were nicely furnished and had the most comfortable beds. The water pressure was great and consistent, much better than many other hotels I've stayed at. For myself and 2 adult children it was exactly what we needed with enough room to be comfortable. Public transport was close, a tram stops almost outside the hotel and a train station around 3 mins walk away and also a 7/11 opposite. There is also a large amount of shops and dining choices only minutes tram ride away. This hotel is not in the CBD but close enough to be there within a 15min train ride or around 20mins in an Uber. Was so happy with our stay here and we definitely will stay again.

This place is absolutely terrible. The two women at the front desk had shocking customer service skills. They were extremely rude, the motel itself was dirty, uncomfortable, not secure at all, and it’s annoying to get into due to the traffic out the front. We had left a pair of shoes at the motel, and after being abused on the phone by both women from the front desk, they now refuse to have the shoes sent back to us, and will not answer phone. I couldn’t possibly stress how bad this motel is. The photos also don’t match the property itself, there’s a shared microwave for everyone in the motel to use which is located outside in the carpark. Don’t bother asking for early check in or late check out because this won’t be organised at all.
Overall hated the stay here and I will not be coming back. I’ll be making sure all my friends and family know not to stay here either. The headache is not worth a single cent.

Stayed for two nights on a family trip to Melbourne to see Disney on Ice.
Great location, affordable family accommodation. Staff were on-site and very friendly and helpful. Easy to drive to, tram stop right out the front. Clean, welcoming apartments, free on-site car parking.

We chose this motel as it has secure parking at no extra cost. We found the room (up above the car via stairs) clean and tidy with an updated bathroom and everything needed for a one night stay. Access off the busy road isnt that easy but a slow approach helped.
Great value. Staff were helpful.

Stayed three nights. On the second night heavy rain started near dawn. Thought nothing of it until woke up and found water soaked carpet about one third down on one side of the bed. Told the fellow at the front desk. Advised fully booked so couldn't change rooms. When we came back later in the day carpet was now wet down half side of the bed. A fan was blowing on it and the air conditioning off. Did I mention the carpet smelled and we had to get two rubber mats to put on the rug so we wouldn't get our feet wet. Told the manager I felt his offer of $10 off for the room inadequate but he replied that we could have gone to another hotel. That's when I told him that his reply reflected poor customer service. Wet, smelly carpet, tired, out dated hotel and poor customer service. There is a reason why the rooms are less expensive.

Definitely not worth the money. Small, cramped, dirty room. The quilt is stained, the service is appalling the toiletries are cheap and nasty. The Wi-Fi is a joke... totally unreliable! And after staying for 12 nights, no help with late checkout out. Despicable!

Not sure, we paid about $120 for 2 adults for 1 night in a motel room, I think they have apartment type rooms as well. The feedback I've read indicates that people who stayed here found the city sights easily accessible so it could be an economical option if that applies to you.
Hi Jill! There is parking:) im sorry I didnt notice if there was a smoking area because I dont smoke.
