cant complain much for the price. our room was right on the side of the main Elizabeth street, so the road noise was quite loud and the windows wouldn't properly shut. Good central location, satisfied.

This hostel facilities were kept clean at all times even though it's fairly big. Everything is in walking distance. There is free breakfast including free pancakes (!!!) The not always working elevator and the limited wifi were kind of bothering me. Not a big deal though. It's a great hostel with fair prices.

Super large hostel where lots of backpackers converge together. Traveling solo, I found it a little intimidating and difficult to meet other people, since it is so large and the main common area is the kitchen. There is a nice little side room where some people congregate, but it's mostly filled with luggage and lockers! A lot of people that...

I stayed in Melbourne International for 10 days in a 10person room and had a great time. The staff were friendly, showers were big, and the communal area was a good size. The only problem I had was the fact that my room was next to the toilets, so throughout the night I would hear water running through the pipes...

My 1st time in a hostel and 1st time as a backpacker. I really liked. Good place, clean, very nice people. All customers very kind. Good location, close to downtown, bank, supermarket, cheap. Big common area and clean. I really enjoyed.

I've lived here for 1 month and had a great time here but my rating is between "Avarage" and "Very Good"! I loved the big kitchen and communal area open 24h to hang out with other backpackers. MIB is located in the CBD and close to everything you need! ... Travel Agencies, Victoria Market, Post, ALDI and Car Rentals!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

“Maybe get a room on a higher level, might reduce sound noise while your trying to sleep. It might even help to get one that isn't facing onto the street. If you want a more private room, pay the extra $4 or whatever it was to get a two bed room, I kinda wish we had.”
