I went to this place on the 17th May after i booked this place through internet. When I arrived here I found the door locked and a number to call for late arrivals. I called this number and the phone was switched off and no option to voice call. I was lucky to find the hostel on the opposite side...

I really love to stay in hostels, but this one was really bad. The kitchen, bathrooms and dorms were dirty most of the time... We stayed at a 6 bed dorm, but the ventilation was awful. No breakfast. It was the only place where we could find accommodation, so we had to stay there.

We booked a dubbel room, and yes it was a dubbel bed. One dirty sheet two pillows, we got a blanket from the reception, when we checked in, because it can be cold in the night. One blanket for one person. The room was very dirty. We had to sleep in our cloths. The kitchen was disgusting, dirty every where,...

I travel a lot and I understand that for the price I pay I cant expect much but the standard of this place is lower than a public toilet!!! When I asked for refund because I didn't wanted to stay there as the place is too dirty (They have given me a bed with big stain mixed with blood in...

The place is very dirty. They don't have cleaning staff, they have some young people doing it in exchange for living there. We went in winter and we were freezing. No heating system. The only good thing is that it was very well located, close to the bus and train station.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I'm currently sat in the warm eating the free popcorn, watching a classic movie and laughing with the friendly staff...obviously I am NOT at the Melbourne Connection Hostel!!! Arrived to a key that didn't work without 'give it a wiggle', a guest who was stoned out his head, dirty mattress, stinky sheets, broken bed and piss/sick/poo/sputum...

The rooms were dirty and smelly. Toilets were even more dirtier, i ended up taking a new hotel as i was not able to sleep in the room, the linen and blankets were not washed at all. Staff was very rude and unhelpful.

Before booking a room in this place, I should have first read the reviews. This is absolutely the worst hostel that I've ever lived in. The first day I was there, as I passed by the kitchen, I noticed that it was filthy and smelly but as I was only planning on using the bedroom, I ignored it. Unfortunately, even...

So... This place is not to go if you like quiet and clean places. Nonetheless, this hostel is made to make good party friends. Showers, bathrooms, kitchen are growth but a friendly ambiance is floatting and you can party until 5 in the morning!

This hostel is horrendous. On arrival we were told that the double room we had booked the night before had already been allocated to someone else. The Asian girl on reception was rude and unwilling to help. I pressed her on what she was going to do and after several phone calls to her manager, we were offered a 4...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
