I booked one of the high floor River views (1201) View was terrific just wish the windows were cleaned. Day I arrived it was very warm and there was some problem with the ac in my room. Sela was very receptive to my concerns and offered fans, which helped, until maintenance could identify the problem and we could see if I needed a room change. By the next day the temp dropped and it was no longer an issue. Staff were all very friendly and went out of way to help helpful and answer questions. The rooms are not really soundproof, street and train station, music performances, hallway, and even from other rooms so factor that in to your decisions. I would stay here again. It is a great location and a good base for getting around. Bathroom is a bit cramped and shower gets messy unless you aim well but the pressure and temp were good. Bed was pretty comfortable but not the greatest.

Arrived here after 30+ hours of travel to be greeted by Madisyn, who ended up being a huge help throughout our stay with recommendations for things to do, and translating Australian to American for us when needed! We did connecting twin and king rooms--each room is not large, but together fit our family of four (two adults, two youth). This hotel has a cute bar area for breakfast and drinks/dinner (appreciated the all day happy hour prices for Hilton Honors status). Right around the corner is Degraves street, full of restaurants, shops, and across the street is Flinders station. We were able to walk many places of interest, and easily find meals and stores to get the things we forgot. Kudos to Madisyn and Nos (breakfast host) for going the extra mile to recognize us and our kiddos!

The Guest Service was wonderful. In particular Simone from Reception. She was helpful and friendly. The highlight of this stay for me. i arrived early and she was welcoming and set me up to get work done in the restaurant. The second one was the bottled still water... it's good. It's free flow pure still water but somehow it's very soft and easy to drink. Don't forget your check-in cookie!

Absolutely amazing service at both check in and check out. Always love a DoubleTree welcome cookie! The room, although small, was nicely appointed and sparkling clean. Super comfy bed. Loved having a room facing away from the street which made it nice and quiet on what was an extremely busy Friday night in the city (Taylor Swift... sigh). Free and fast wifi. Nice modern bathroom, the only gripe I have is that the water pressure in the shower was super slow and the supplied shampoo/body wash etc. is made in China. There are a lot of additional services offered at very high prices, but the options are there if you want them. A bottle of water in the mini bar would be a nice touch for the price point. Location unbeatable - straight across the road from Flinders Street station and easily walkable to the MCG and Melbourne Park entertainment precinct. Would happily stay again.

What a great hotel! The location was spot on (we came for the Australian Open tennis and we could walk to the stadium along the river in 15 minutes). While the area is busy/touristy it is central to everything. The room was small but clean and extremely quiet…never heard any outside noise or any other rooms. The breakfast buffet was quite good, with lots of choices-both sweet and savory. What makes this hotel, however, is the staff. Every single person was so friendly, helpful and welcoming…front desk staff, breakfast staff, etc. really remarkable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is located right across the street from the Flinders Street Station and is in the Melbourne free tram zone. It is walkable from the Airport Bus (SkyBus) terminal (Southern Cross Station). There are tons of restaurants and a few grocery stores very close to the hotel. The neighborhood is not as pristine as some but the city vibe is there. If one looks at the external photo of the hotel, one would know the challenges. It is a long and relatively narrow building with other buildings on both sides. Some rooms do not have windows and some rooms look out to a wall. So, know what room type you chose and adjust your expectations. I got a very good room with a very good view. Even that, the room still felt a little small - not NYC small but not big. The bathroom is nice and decently sized. Some of the hardware seems old - the elevators/lifts sound old and one day I heard some inspector telling maintenance there is chalking problem outside. Housekeeping seems a little off. My room did not have a clock for some reason and I had to ask for one. I also noticed the windows are not that clean from inside, there are dusts on top of the thermostat and door handle mechanism. The hotel tries to be environmental friendly - instead of the plastic bottled water, they give you a glass one that you can exchange for refills. However, housekeeping told me the hotel did not recycle. Luckily there is a city-provided recycle bin right outside the hotel. I am not sure if it is legal for hotel guests to throw their "household" recyclables in those bins though. Breakfast is adequate but the hot food upgrade might not be worth the A$10 Hilton Honors co-pay for high level elite members. The omelet is small and some of the hot food is not the best quality. A$10 can get you a lot of roast chicken at the Coles around the corner. Like everywhere else, they seem to be short of staff at times. There is a small gym on the 2nd level (Floor 1). Self-service laundry is available at the building next door - the hotel will give you access. The staff is all very helpful and friendly - including housekeeping. I think this makes up for some of the shortcomings. For me, this falls under "I will stay here again if the price is right" category.

Absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel!!! The staff were so polite, friendly and helpful throughout the hotel. Staff at check-in, bar area and during breakfast were consistently kind and super helpful. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and have never felt this welcomed by an entire hotel team. The rooms are clean and modern, the bed is AMAZING!!! So comfy and soft, I usually have neck/back problems but enjoyed a peaceful two nights sleep during our stay at this hotel. Buffet breakfast is delicious with a great variety for all dietary requirements. Overall the hotel has a unique foyer design, calm and relaxing feel. Will definitely be booking again with this hotel when staying in Melbourne CBD again (a fantastic location for anyone coming to watch the Australian Open as we have, close 10minutes walk to the grounds and very close to all the city centre). Thankyou for a great stay!!!

Everyone went above and beyond. Service was just right, friendly without being uncomfortably formal. Stephen in the restaurant was notable in his friendly and nothing too much trouble attitude. The kitchen staff also went above expectations. The room was clean and you can control the room temperature which I love. The location is super convenient for transport and entertainment.

Rooms are clean and comfortable! But do take note that connecting rooms does not come with decent view (see the next building wall) if that is your concern! Yes to me but I still stayed in this property taking into their plus points for choices of dining, cafe, supermarkets and short walk to Fed Square, Block arcade, royal arcade, David jones, Myers….. And the tram stop jus 2mins walks and take u to Queen Victoria Market!!!
