We stayed one night. Room was well appointed with thought out furnishings that suited the size of the room, including a handy shelf under the TV.
Space was clean, only issue I noticed was the bathroom door definitely hits the shower door (existing damage on bathroom door), and slight leak from the shower into the grout of tiles in the bathroom.
We weren't disturbed by other guests.
TV has free to air channels and option to cast from your phone.
Great location from which we attended some comedy festival shows. Parked our car at Galleria and with validation at the hotel only paid $8 for 24hrs.
Would happily stay again.

Hotel's Favourite
The Hotel has recently re-opened after a fantastic renovation and it is great!
All of the staff were keen and happy to assist with any of our needs and requests.
The decor is excellent and the lobby area is really quirky and well designed.
Howey Place outside is a very interesting and little known laneway which is really worth exploring.
Howey? Simply awesome!

I stayed for 3 nights from 30 May 2024. I've sent the email in advance and let them know that I will arrive there in the morning by the early flight. I didn't expect to be able to early check in, so I was going to ask them to keep my luggage. However, they prepared a room for check in early and it was a nice surprise that they provide me un upgraded room! My key didn't work at the lift, but the receptionist lady was very helpful and come with me to the room and swiped the key and checked the key worked in the room. The room was clean, spacious, two wide screen TV and modern and cozy atmosphere. I really relaxed to watch a good selection movie and I enjoyed T2 tea. The location was great. The Royal Arcade is just cross the road and I really enjoyed walking to grab coffee every morning around Little Burke Street and Flinders Lane where are just 5 minutes by walk. They arranged one delay check out, plus kept my luggage until the time of my flight. It was a great customer service. This is a small boutique hotel. However, it seems they try to provide a flexible service and meet the customer's need. Overall, it was very enjoyable stay!

The service was great, room was upgraded so we heard zero outside noise (we were near the lift and didn't hear them either). Room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed. Next time I do need to swap my pillow tho! Easy walk to explore my favourite things around Melbourne plus catch a couple of theatre shows. Just around the corner from the stop we needed for My Buller. I'll stay here next time I come to Melbourne for sure! Thanks.

First time staying at ‘The Howey’ and I was pleasantly surprised! It’s in such a good location, walking distance to everything. Plenty of choices for brekky, lunch and dinner.
The room is a good size, spacious, yet cosy. Would book a room on a higher level next time to have a view though.
The staff were lovely and were so friendly! The room was also very clean.
The only con is there’s no on sight parking. But there’s a carpark walking distance, that cost about $37 for two days, with the hotels discount. Which wasn’t too bad!
Definitely a good spot to stay if you want to be close to everything.

I recently stayed at The Howey Melbourne on a solo business trip, and overall, it was a great choice.
Positives:
- Location: Perfect for a business traveler. The hotel is right in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, close to offices, restaurants, and transport. You really can’t beat the convenience.
- Rooms: The rooms were modern, clean, and stylish with a minimalist design. The bed was very comfortable, and the space was surprisingly quiet for the CBD, allowing me to focus and unwind.
- Staff: The staff were fantastic—friendly, professional, and always eager to help with any requests.
- Coffee options: Having two excellent coffee shops just steps from the entrance was a definite perk, especially for an early morning start.
Negatives:
- Lobby experience: While the lobby includes a coffee shop and bar area, these were closed during my stay, which made the entrance feel a bit empty and lacking energy.

Stayed for 9 nights and found the room to be a good size with a spacious bathroom. Really enjoyed the bath tub, but the slow flow of water from the tap was a bit tedious and resulted in a less bubbly bubble bath. Not the end of the world though! Excellent location for shopping and dining etc. Staff were all friendly and allowed me to check in early and even allowed a slightly later check out. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Delightful modern accommodation, clean, fresh and inviting. Peaceful considering it's in the heart of the city. Close proximity to shopping facilities. Comfiest bed you have ever slept in (for a hotel), the bathroom was incredible, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. 5/5 stars if I could put more I would the value for money is impeccable!

Great little boutique hotel hidden in little Colin’s street nice and close to lots of eateries in the area. Very pleasant staff and nicely refurbished facilities and rooms. Will definitely put this on the come back list. Not sure if they plan to open the bar up but if not plenty of choice in walking distance
