On arrival, my girlfriends and I were the only customers. A mid-age lady served me with no greeting, no smile and flat tone all the way. After a bit of drama locating my booking, a younger man took us through a funny walkway (up and down a numbers of short staircases) with a few super heavy doors. He took the...

Room card struggles to open outer door for entrance to the area. Restful night's sleep in a room far from the road noise of Lonsdale Street. Staff do everything they can to help. Am staying there again tonight...

Rude, untidy staff. Dirty linen. Cramped, scruffy and dirty rooms. I even left the hotel with an injury after cutting my foot on a shard of glass or sharp plastic in my room. My worst hotel stay ever ( and I have stayed in a lot of hotels)

Absolutely a great location for anybody wanting to access facilities in the CBD. Close to everything - theatre, sports, food & drink, entertainment. Easy parking and access. Priced right. Recommend trying. Stayed before and won't hesitate to stay again.

Customer service lacked local knowledge of restaurants and only interested in their own cultral food, I asked for Italian or French. refused to check electronic key card to enter building after advising anglo saxon patrons cards not working, staff shrugged shoulders with that carefacter movement. Check in was in another hotel so walking a block not fun with mobility issues...

Great location for the Theatre district. Literally bars and eateries at your doorstep. Shopping a short tram trip away. Extremely quiet. Fabulous old building. Patissere with great coffee downstairs. Rooms were clean, though a bit tired. However the position of the loo in Bathroom was a little tight. If you are of a generous body type it would be very...

We had a great stay at Quest Gordon's place on little Bourke . Our stay was for a Boxing tournament at the Melbourne Park arena. This was the perfect spot for us, very and convenient access, great staff, friendly attitudes, the BBQ area was great and we used the pool but most importantly for us 4 was our room. Plenty...

Worst room ever. Air con not working, window broken and would not stay up, floor squeaked, poor plumbing, missing curtain, phone not working on arrival. Fridge pulls out of cupboard when opened.Room not cleaned on second day.Complaints met with apologies and blaming others for the problems.

Lovely property in great location only let down by inadequate kitchen fitout. In spite of full stove and microwave, there was nothing to cook with. Very courteous staff, quiet room, perfect for theatre district.

Only stayed a couple of nights but I do not have anything overly exciting to say about this hotel. The building itself has a lot of charm, but it is not maintained to the standard I was expecting it to be. The elevator was extremely rickety, and even with luggage I preferred to use the stairs to avoid standing in...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
