Hotel's Favourite
Beautiful room, very comfortable bed and pillows. The location is great being on Flinders, close to everything. But the noise from the trains can still be heard fairly clearly from 9th floor. No issue for me, but if you're one of those cranky light sleepers go somewhere else.

Cleanliness left something to be desired, check in took very long time. rooms stunning but super small - feet claustrophobic. Great location and great character but wouldnt stay again. Raised cleanliness issue with check out staff - didnt seem than concerned

Magnificent 3 night stay. Lovely suite as per photos, very central to trams & Flinders street station & within walking distance to Pubs, cafes & restaurants, including Chinatown. The girls in the Ms Ava bar were excellent, very attentive & friendly & drinks were mixed to perfection. Highly recommend a stay here for even just 1 night!

Home away from home! The hotel had lots of old world charm and was very local to everything. The buffet breakfast was amazing and staff extremely helpful. Our suite was even upgraded and we were allowed a later check-out.

Great location, And great service by Ana. Restaurant breakfast was of high quality and well priced. Well located and close to all CBD facilities. Could have been better if daily newspapers were made available whilst having breakfast.

Relocated as we were arriving to checkin to a basic apartment in a completely different location but expected to pay full hotel rate. Indicated relocation and additional taxi trip meant we missed dinner that night and Apartment was not in a good location….hotel only sent a “sorry” message 2 days later and said hope you will come back and we can do better next time,..how about do better this time…beware

Dear Mark, Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, circumstances out of our control on the day of your arrival made some hotel rooms unavailable for guests' stays. The chances of this happening are extremely rare, and although our team did all they could to avoid any disruption to your plans, we could not avoid the room relocation. The apartment was one of the best rooms at our sister property and is located only a few hundred meters from where our hotel is, still in a central Melbourne location. Stayed at Rendezvous for 4 nights. We were upgraded to a dark room without any daylight. We asked at the front desk if it was possible to change room. We were promised to get an answer after one of the front desk managers had spoken with her boss. Needless to say she didn't bother to get back to us. Eventually, we change rooms because of a very loud air-conditioning which effectively prevented sleeping. Next room 611 was much better.

I'm so unimpressed with the service from the Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne! I had tickets to see Robbie Williams and to stay at the hotel tonight for my birthday, but unfortunately woke up unwell with COVID. I rang the hotel straight away at 6.30am to let them know, but they are still making me pay for the entire booking! I know there are policies in place, but surely such a big hotel could show a little compassion! I have stayed several times in the past, but will not be using this hotel again. Very disappointing!

Was at hotel with a group. The hotel is centrally located but the road is run down with rough sleepers and a bit seedy. The interior of the hotel is heritage and very tasteful. Tried the basement restaurant but wasn’t impressed MR TOMPKINS. My chicken was bloody at bone but the waiter said that’s how it should be cooked …. My room was compact to say the least. It was a double but only big enough for one person (me). Bathroom tiny. As I pulled apart the curtains it faced a brick wall and in the corner a multi-storey car park. The room looked clean or so I thought but on departure after 3 nights I left with more than my luggage - I got bed bug bites all over my arm. Although the sheets were clean god knows what was lurking in the mattress.

While room size and amenities are specified on the Website, there is also the option of a room with a view, in case that is a preferred solution. With the hotel conveniently located in the heart of the Melbourne and overlooking the river, there are some aspects of the accommodation that may require some further looking into at the time of booking, although I do understand that as part of a group that may not always be easy to do. We do implement very detailed health and hygiene policies, and we are regularly audited in regard to the cleaning standards kept throughout the hotel. Additional investigation as a result of your feedback has been conducted on the bedsheets, mattress and bed frame in our rooms, and has shown no presence of bed bugs nor other possible causes for concern. May I suggest to possibly look at other potential sources/causes? Overall, we do our best to ensure guests have an amazing experience when they are under our care in this beautiful hotel, and as you can see from other reviews, we generally succeed.
