Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Probably in need of upgrade, well located, comfortable, quiet room, stayed in tower 2
Staff were pleasant, not informative at all. My room was a 1 bedroom apartment, there was a restaurant at the front of the hotel, breakfast was not that good, parking I used the on street parking. Paid for it on my phone at 8am for the hour, without leaving my room

We arrived in Melbourne around noon on 1 Mar for two nights and were able to check in when we got to Seasons Botanical Garden. Our room was a studio, which had a king bed, small kitchenette with a sink, hot plate, kettle, dishes and glasses, small fridge, a washer and dryer, which came in very handy, with your own water heater, large bathroom (a little older feel but functional), king bed, large sofa and a balcony. We had a lovely view of the Shrine of Remembrance war memorial and the park across the street and you could see the city off to the left. There was a small grocery store about 3 minutes walk. We had to extend our stay due to illness so it was great to have all these amenities. I recommend this hotel due to the location by the park and the amenities in our room. Staff was helpful when we needed their help due to illness.

This is the fifth time we’ve stayed here for the tennis. It’s well priced and very conveniently situated but it’s getting very sad looking and in need of updating.

Rooms are big but our kitchen area is dark and the counter top damaged. Kitchen equipment is cheap and minimal and we had to ask for a toaster.

The bathroom is the most in need of an update, cracked tiles, a shower that is almost impossible to keep going as it keep switching back to the bath tap, and thin small towels.

The internet is so slow that we reverted to hot spotting from our phones.

Reception staff are charming and helpful but there is obviously a limit to what they can do. Unfortunately next time we come to Melbourne we will look for somewhere else.

Arrived at 11am last Saturday & spoke to the lady at reception who told us the room wasn’t ready & we told her we would be back in the evening & called at 8:20pm to confirm we would be there between 10-11pm and were assured all was well, as booked. When we got there at 10:15pm, we were allocated Room 509. Upon entering, the bed was unmade and the bathroom had wet towels on the floor. Back to reception we went & were upgraded to Room 104. Upon entering our upgraded room, large volumes of water were coming out of the washing machine and the carpet was soaked & room flooded. We again returned to reception to advise of the flooding in room 104 and were told he would “get someone to attend to it in the morning as he was on his own”. After apologising, we were told there were no more vacant rooms in the hotel and would need to seek accommodation elsewhere. As it was nearing 11pm, we realised the futility of attempting to secure a room for the night and asked for a taxi to take us home. I am in disbelief that a room which was booked and fully paid for up to 10 weeks in advance was not available for our stay. Completely ruined our reunion with our other friends and the whole weekend was a failure thanks to the utter incompetence at your hotel, thus affecting ourselves and our friends, who were also your guests. Very very disappointed!!

We booked based on location for a wedding in the Botanic Gardens.
3 night stay and we had to ask for room service- I get that times are tough but the price was t less for self service!
No lift from car park to reception- not a problem for a few stairs…….. But no bell hop or even trolley for luggage is abit ordinary.
Ok for location, free parking etc.
Would we stay again?
Only if there was nothing else…….
Didn’t feel like any sort of deep clean had been done, and room definitely in need of a clean and light switch needs replacing. Being tradies we worked around it- but it’s defiantly not super safe!

The hotel is perfectly located, and the bed was comfortable but those are the only positive aspects. The accommodation was very old and shabby, and dirty. The armchairs and sofa were so old there was no support in them - we had to use a folded up blanket to stop us sinking right down into the seats. We were there for 5 weeks and had to keep asking for the room to be cleaned. The kitchen was inadequately equipped and we had to buy basics such as a vegetable knife, chopping board & can opener. Overall we were very disappointed with the accommodation for the price paid.

Free Wi Fi ! Speed was so slow could not load up a page. Nothing in the mini bar. Hair dryer did not work.
Stayed in an emergency and is local.
Said I'd stay for two nights and checked out after one.
On check out they had already charged me for two nights.
Have travelled a lot and have never experienced being charged on arrival for whole stay.

We arrived at the hotel and booked in. we got our room key then went out shopping.when we came back to went to our room. up the lift and on to our floor.the key to the room would not work ,we came back down the lift got a new key and had to do it all over again as the second key would not work.after the girl took us up.she said the staff member sent us to the wrong hotel building.we had to then go back down and take another lift to the other building. The room was just poor and had a very strange smell. The male staff was just so rude he was only interested in his dinner and mobile phone.there was a change for the car park that we were not told about.the pool was so cold and the spar had dead skin around the pumps.the sauna was not even hot. I can not believe how run down this hotel was.

One night stay with friends. The hotel provides easy access to St Kilda Road and the Botanical Gardens. Room are a bit old but clean, the foyer is huge and staff provide good service. Would probably consider staying here again. The shower over a bath is, however, not great.

We arrived and got into the elevator to be confronted by a toilet brush. Ewwwww. Got to the room and couldn't find a clean spot on the lounge to sit on. Remnants of the previous person's spilled drink or meal were still present on the coffee ringed table. All the furniture was chipped and marked and the walls were dull and too dark for the space. Overall, it was really depressing.
However the location suited us, the parking was handy and the apartment was a good size. An update would make all the difference.

What is the room service menu like?
Answer from Wingecarribee
Canberra, Australia2,340 contributions142 helpful votes
The menu was in the kitchen with less options than the in-house dining restaurant/bar. And appeared some of the specials only available downstairs. Also restricted time for room service and at night after hrs you can call reception for a frozen meal you can put in the microwave in the room. I did not try room service but the food from the restaurant was fine.

How do i reserve parking when booking? Do i pay upon checkin?
Answer from Geoffrey B
Maylands, Australia240 contributions79 helpful votes
I don't even think it i necessary to book parking. I have stayed several times and never done so. However, to be on the safe side just notify the people when booking that you require parking. It will be charged separately

Is there a supermarket nearby (walkable) for self-catering?
Answer from Sharon M
Melbourne, Australia291 contributions58 helpful votes
There is a small grovery store about 200 mtrs to the left as you walk out the door. They seemes to have a supply of most items you would need. If you have a car or want to hop in a tram there are plenty of larger supermarkets not far away. Keep in mind tram services are slightly changed around due to Domain interchange works just down the road.
