Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the fifth time we’ve stayed here for the tennis. It’s well priced and very conveniently situated but it’s getting very sad looking and in need of updating. Rooms are big but our kitchen area is dark and the counter top damaged. Kitchen equipment is cheap and minimal and we had to ask for a toaster. The bathroom is the most in need of an update, cracked tiles, a shower that is almost impossible to keep going as it keep switching back to the bath tap, and thin small towels. The internet is so slow that we reverted to hot spotting from our phones. Reception staff are charming and helpful but there is obviously a limit to what they can do. Unfortunately next time we come to Melbourne we will look for somewhere else.

We stayed here for three nights. Clean, so quite we never heard a sound, bathroom outdated but perfectly clean and useable. Great price. Receptionists we’re just lovely, didn’t see any other staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Room was fine, service not so. Was told the manager on duty would call regarding my complaint but weeks later, I’m still waiting for Stephanie’s call. I arrived at the hotel late in the night to find roadworks outside the front of the hotel. I asked both when booking – and again when checking in at reception – for a quiet room. I asked if the roadwork would continue the next morning (Saturday) and was told there wouldn’t be any work. I mentioned it was happening right now and she then said if it was (she didn’t know), it wouldn’t start early and it wouldn’t be noticeable. I was given my key – to find the room faced the main road and the roadwork. Which started (noticeably) at 7am on Saturday morning with a steel grinder. Upon checkout that morning (glad I didn’t pay for more), I was asked if there were quieter rooms than I had been given. The clerk said yes, located at the back of the building, but this was not offered to me, despite asking twice for a quiet room. I then asked to speak to the manager Stephanie who I was told was not available at the time, but who would call me to follow up. No offer of compensation, not even a call. And this is service? First and last time staying here.

We have stayed at the seasons botanic many times before. That many i cant remember how many times. We recently stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for a boys footy trip for 2 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay once again. The service was fantastic at check in and our room was ready when we arrived at midday. The hotel lobby hasnt been updated since our first stay in 2009 but it is very clean and comfortable. This probably adds to the nostalgia of our Melbourne trips and why we love staying here. The room is very clean and spacious with a large comfortable couch. The kitchen area is full of everything we needed including a dish washer. The bathroom is very clean albeit dated and out of everything in the hotel, probably requires updating the most. That said everything works fine and certainly didnt impact our stay. The hotel is in a great location with the shrine of remembrance literally across the road and is a breathtaking sight no matter how many times you see it. Walking distance to the MCG, art gallery and southbank/fed square. Only negatives are we required a trundle bed and was abit pricey but was very comfortable. Also sad to see the restaurant is no longer down stairs as was very convienient but once again, didnt deter us all. We had a very enjoyable stay once again and certainly stay again.

We booked this place for 2 nights. Was offered an upgrade to 1 bedroom suite for $20 per night extra. It was huge and very nice. Very quiet room off the main road. Very comfy lounge. and bed. Full kitchen and large table & chairs. On arrival the staff were very helpful, as we had a lot of items. Problem is their parking area, does not have a lift, only stairs and we had too much to manage that way. So we used a trolley to empty the car, then took the car down to the parking, which is by the side road. had to do the reverse when we left. Loved the suite, except for the shower was in the bath, not ideal for an older person. Also the shower head was not able to move. Kitchen could do with more lighting. We would return, as it was overall good, and a good location for us. The light rail is just down the road, and a nice long walk to the South Melbourne Markets. Staff were lovely, and offered so much help with the trolley especially.

The hotel was reasonably priced and I had a great view of the park and shrine of remembrance. The hotel was very old and could do with a renovation. There was also some black mould in the shower/bath tub.

We arrived in Melbourne around noon on 1 Mar for two nights and were able to check in when we got to Seasons Botanical Garden. Our room was a studio, which had a king bed, small kitchenette with a sink, hot plate, kettle, dishes and glasses, small fridge, a washer and dryer, which came in very handy, with your own water heater, large bathroom (a little older feel but functional), king bed, large sofa and a balcony. We had a lovely view of the Shrine of Remembrance war memorial and the park across the street and you could see the city off to the left. There was a small grocery store about 3 minutes walk. We had to extend our stay due to illness so it was great to have all these amenities. I recommend this hotel due to the location by the park and the amenities in our room. Staff was helpful when we needed their help due to illness.

The location is good , opposite the Botanic Gardens, near the trams, a walk into the city, and perfect for New Years firework views from the Shrine. We have visited this hotel several times in the last 10 years, but our last visit was not so good. There is a newer block at the front which may be better, I have not stayed there. I wanted a tower apartment, as I usually stay there, nice and roomy. The beds were clean ,comfortable and bathroom was clean, but the kitchen was hardly cleaned, greasy residue left after the last resident, I had to wipe everywhere before I could make a cuppa, even the windows were dirty. The lounge furniture is well worn. The tumble dryer had so much lint in it. It was a holiday period, and cleaners were scarce, they did the bedroom and bathroom at least. I agree, its high time for a refurbishment Seasons. Very sad, as we love the location, and don't want to spend much time in the room, but pleasant surroundings do help.

The hotel is perfectly located, and the bed was comfortable but those are the only positive aspects. The accommodation was very old and shabby, and dirty. The armchairs and sofa were so old there was no support in them - we had to use a folded up blanket to stop us sinking right down into the seats. We were there for 5 weeks and had to keep asking for the room to be cleaned. The kitchen was inadequately equipped and we had to buy basics such as a vegetable knife, chopping board & can opener. Overall we were very disappointed with the accommodation for the price paid.
