Overall good family stay. Breakfast can have more variety. The wifi was limited to just 1 GB per device, not good if you want to watch or download Netflix. Parking is paid $15 per day. Pool is good and relaxing.

Stayed for one night, heater turned on when I arrived (a cold Melbourne day), very comfortable bed, very clean. Everything I needed provided including body wash, lotion, shampoo/conditioner and shower cap. The downfall was the water pressure and inconsistent temperature in the shower however would stay again. Breakfast in the restaurant took awhile to come out but was delicious.

I stayed here mid week for 1 night while attending a nearby conference. The location is great with parks nearby for exercise, easy tram access to the CBD and good car access from the freeway with onsite parking ($25/night).

The rooms themselves felt tired. It is clear the hotel was built some time ago and it feels in need of a major renovation. The lift is old. There was not a lot of natural light in the room, however I did appreciate the window that opened and let in fresh air (a rarity these days in hotels).

The staff were lovely and courteous. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and good.

Overall it was fine for needing somewhere to rest my head overnight, but I got in late and left early (due to a crazy conference schedule). If you had to spend any length of time in the room not sleeping, I’d suggest going somewhere else.

Recently returned to the Mercure North Melbourne and it seems to have a new lease of life. The staff are very friendly and have a service ethos. The carparking arrangements are reasonably priced, flexible and convenient. Its actually in an ideal spot for vehicle egress plus trams to the city. It has a great little dining room for meals and breakfasts which is good to see as many hotels still have their restaurants closed post COVID-19. The rooms whilst older are clean, spacious and comfortable compared to some newly built hotels and apartments popping up around Melbourne which suffer from being cramped and built to maximise profit.
Could do with newer TV sets as they have a rather fickle TV remote system

travelling in this crazy high risk time by myself with a toddler was unbelievably unnerving for myself. We had to travel due to an appointment at the hospital. The staff we so incredibly professional and helpful. I felt so comfortable with all the precautions they are taking and how clean our room was. My son has alot of allergies so hard to order for anywhere, they had supplied with with a microwave so I am able to heat the food I bought for him. The room service I ordered for myself, the food was beautiful and fresh and fast to come to the room.
They had helped with my pram/luggage and million bags you need for a toddler, from the car to our room and again on check out had helped pack the car.
So thankful for staff on this trip.
We will be returning

Great Hotel with a pool which is very unusual in Melbourne so close to the city. Tram to City only takes 15 minutes and stops in front of the hotel. Great restaurant with very friendly staff Cant recommend this hotel enough. Not 5 star but very very comfy.

As an Accor Member I always try to stay at Accor family properties. Mercure North Melbourne was an easy choice as I had appointments close by on the Monday morning.

Upon check in we paid $25 for secure parking and were provided with a token to raise the boom gate should we need to move the car from that car park.

Overnight it seems the boom gate was not lowered meaning cars could come and go as they please. Sadly in the early hours of the Monday morning a car entered and our rear canopy on my 4 x 4 was smashed causing significant $ damage plus inconvenience.

All management could say is that you park at your own risk. To them it did not matter that they had not secured the gate, nothing!!! They openly admitted it was not down as per hotel policy.

I have been open in my dealing with them only to be totally stonewalled. I’m not really into bad reviews but this time it’s needed!!

Extremely sad outcome. They will lose an Accor member and I certainly will not recommend them to anyone.

Stay clear if you think you are paying for something you are not getting!!!

Dear Gary, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While it is regretful that this is the takeaway from your stay at the Mercure North Melbourne, I would like to highlight again that guests park vehicles at their own risk, as advertised by the signs in the car park, and that we assisted with investigations on this matter. I am sorry your experience with us was not a positive one, and sincerely hope to welcome you back in the future to a different scenario. Thank you again for sharing your comments. Room I had couldn’t possibly be rated 4 stars, decor needs to brought up to the 21st century for a start. Bed was comfortable. Had to keep curtains closed as there was a clear view to building beside. Bathroom needs major overhaul and a fan would be great. Shower over bath is not the best for elderly people. Room service was quick and tasty but to call again to ask for bottle opener for drinks that came with meal.

I’m surprised this hotel is part of Mecure or maybe I have their branding wrong? This is an average hotel. I’ve stayed at other hotels at this price range and they have been much better. The main issue is that it old hotel, worn out but the main issue is the noise. There is no sound proofing in this building. I stayed for three nights and have had the worst sleep. I could hear the person in the neighbouring room next to me yawn, go to the toilet, hear their TV, plug their cords into power points and hear them talk at a normal level. I heard the stomps of people walking outside my room and upstairs in the next level, I could hear people walking in the staircase a few doors down, there were doors slamming all day all night. The bathroom is tiny and it takes way too long to get the water from the shower hot I thought I had run out of hot water at one point. I felt like I’ve been staying in a hostel and was sharing with other people. If you can, avoid your stay here.
