Rydges Melbourne is a modern hotel located approx 30 mins from Tullamarine /Melbourne Airport by taxi, and diagonally opposite Her Majesty's Theatre on Exhibition St. If you are wanting something close to Chinatown or the theatre district, Rydges Melbourne is a solid choice. It is about a ten minute walk to the city shopping precinct where high-end fashion and jewellery...

As someone who heads to Melbourne from country victoria for meetings, or dinners with friends, we always look for an affordable hotel, where we know it has great location, good car park, comfy bed and great service, and that is what sums up Rydges on exhibition. We always choose to stay at Rydges on Exhibition as we know that their...

Stayed in the Queen Spa suite. Bath too small for 2 people. No one helped us with our luggage on arrival. The noise was terrible. You could hear doors closing in the night and traffic on the street. Very expensive for an average room.

We stayed on nite at the hotel. Found it conveniently located. I enjoyed the room service soup and my hubby said the steak was good too:) Had a good sleep. Liked the big bathroom area. Loved breakfast and the selection just wished it was included in the room price as we had first thought :( I would stay there again.

The hotel was nice and clean with friendly staff. the package deal we went for was great value. We had dinner and breakfast included and a bottle of wine. The two course evening meal was very good, I had the chicken which was cooked very well. The only thing that spoiled our stay was the well below average breakfast that...

We have stayed at this Hotel a number of times in the past, and would normally rate it as one of our favourites. We were in Melbourne to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday, and to attend a couple of Comedy Festival events. We had completed an on-line check-in prior to arrival, and had received a text message advising us to...

I've just gotten home and headed straight for the computer. Rydges Hotel made my stay in Melbourne quite awful. Firstly I had a 5 year old and there were no inhouse movies available. I was told I could hire a DVD but non were available at any time during my stay. Upon trying to call reception the phone usually rang...

The hotel lacked attention to detail, simple requests were forgotten. The beds were the most uncomfortable I have ever stayed in. The bathrooms are tiny. The gym is a joke and the signage is poor. They only put bottled water in your room every two days! Even when you ask for water they still forgot to deliver it. The instructions...

Hotel staff were wonderful, provided us with a free upgrade and buffet breakfast. Room was clean and just what we expected. Location is fantastic, right in the heart of the CBD and only a short distance to all places of interest.

We absolutely loved our night at Rydges (6.4.15) in a deluxe spa room. The service was fantastic, especially the very helpful ladies at the front desk!! The most comfortable bed ever and a delicious breakfast with huge variety ended the stay perfectly! Would highly recommend.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
