We have stayed here many times and enjoy the Superior Suite on the 22nd floor. It is quiet, very comfortable and has great views. The location is excellent with everything in the city within an easy walk.

When I travel business or pleasure I like to unwind in my room by watching TV. Rydges Melbourne has the WORSE TV I have had in a 2-5 star hotel ever! NO movies, no program guide on remote and just frustrating all round. You expect AT LEAST what you have at home. Really liked it except plumbing noises at night...

I have stayed here a few times but this was about two years after my last stay. It's OK, but could be a lot better. The foyer is nice with a blazing fake fire, which is good on a cold evening. But the receptionist was robotic. I booked a suite, which was spacious, but had forgotten the rather odd room...

Great location, reasonable service but unfortunately the lifts were noisy during the night - we were on the 21st floor. Need more staff at reception. Parking a bit pricey @ $29.90 a night as a hotel guest. Air conditioner noisy.

Clearly the title of this review indicates I had an extremely bad nights sleep here. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were horrible! The room was freezing cold and when I put the heating on it was so loud that I couldn't get back to sleep! Couple that with noisy neighbors (not the hotels fault!) and it was the worst...

Nice foyer lulls you into a sense of things to come. Unfortunately, the tired rooms with the worn carpet is a major letdown. Also be wary of the staff in the breakfast room. Don't expect prompt or helpful service and the coffee is extra. And you have to wait for it. And wait. And wait. Could do ever so much...

I've stayed here plenty of times for work, its in a great location with loads of eateries nearby! The beds are comfy and clean but its not ideal for a holiday style stay. Its perfect for work and its nice to come back to your spacious room and relax. The bar/restaurant downstairs is nice if you dont want to travel...

Check in has all the flair of a back packers..let's say it's functional, it works, the staff are polite and efficient. If your here on business it does its job, if it's a romantic getaway I'd suggest somewhere else. The rooms are good, beds designed not to offend most, as the saying goes, firm but fair. Bathrooms are tired and...

Stayed here for a week with my partner. We were on the 20th floor, unfortunately close to what seemed to be a cleaners room? The hallway was very noisy at times for this reason, which wasn't very nice at 11pm. The mattress was very comfy but the pillows were awful! The bathroom is ridiculously small, the door can't open completely...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
