Great central location, close to everything. Tram stops are very close and it is easy walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants and bars. Apartment-style rooms are a good size and very comfortable.

An old-style hotel with a corridor-like entrance from Collins St, which is easily missed if like us, you arrive late at night and jetlagged - but happily, it's directly over the road from the well-lit and highly obvious Regent theatre. Adara is in the heart of the free tram area, a short ride from the Skybus terminal and within a...

Awesome, brilliant, fantastic, wonderful, amazing, the best ... and that's just the staff & service. From the moment I enquired about accommodation until the moment we left, we received nothing but exemplary customer service. Location is brilliant, room is great - we had everything we needed & more. Free laundry was so much appreciated. We were able to do washing...

Adara Collins is very handy located opposite Regent theater and short distance to all attractions in the centre of Melbourne. It in old building so corridors to your room might be winding and probably difficult after a few glasses of wine... The one bedroom apartment was very spacious, clean and modern. Small kitchenette and living area and separate decent side...

Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband for the last week of tennis. Very spacious 1 bedroom apartment. For the price we paid, I say I'm very happy of our stay there, considering they have complimentary internet and laundry facilities. Very close to The Bock arcade popular for cafes. We also had a bottle of champagne and chocolates on...

We spent 3 nights here in 2 apartments for the tennis. The place looks a little sad the hallways need painting and the carpet could do with relaying our floor smelt of indian food the entire stay. Having said that the building is close to everything - heaps of great cafes and restaurants, a short stroll to shops, to the...

As the title reveals this property is the best location ever. Situated right next to the Melbourne Town Hall. Shopping, Theatre, Restaurants all within a stones throw. I have stayed here 3 times. Yes it is a bit shabby & is in need of a makeover but if it has one I'm sure it would be $600.00 a night. The...

The location was perfect for travellers wanting to see what Melbourne has to offer, so central that it was easy to catch a tram anywhere if you didn't want to walk. Housekeeping were a little slack - Im quite sure they never cleaned the shower (but maybe thats what you get with an apartment vs a hotel). Front staff were...

We purposely chose an apartment hotel because you get more space and if one of you is up in the middle of the night with jet lag, you don't disturb the other person. We had a big 1 bedroom apartment on the top floor at the back of the building. That was because we'd requested a quiet room, and that's...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
