Situated in the upmarket shopping vicinity, this grand hotel meets almost all of the charms of a 5 star. I stayed here for 5 nights for work. Upon arrival I was upgraded (which is always a nice treat). The hotel itself is very immaculately designed, perfect mood lightings all around. The main foyer and reception is huge. Rooms are quite...

I loved the staff at this hotel and the Park Hyatt . The difference was the buildings and amenities. The Grand Hyatt is in desperate need of some new refurbishments. Bed head falling apart, toilet roll holder had broken at one point and been repaired by a child, marble tiles yellowing with age and carpet needs replacing. In addition the...

Great location in the heart of the CBD - also there are free trams around Melbourne CBD. Fabulous gym - huge number of exercise machines (no wait). My room didn't have power sockets near the bed-side tables. Also, share cubicle was quite small.

Every time I come to Melbourne I try to get into the Grand Hyatt because I am treated like a long lost friend. The staff are friendly and accommodating and I cannot fault the service. I work hard and the hotel is a pleasure to come back to. I simply love the place

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
