This hotel showed signs of serious wear and tear. In my humble opinion this property needed a refresh and also a remodel as soon as possible. The location is great but once you get inside the property there are so many issues with the actual rooms and also the service is lackluster. At check in the gentleman working the desk...

The only glitch we had was when we drove up to the hotel and there was nowhere to park so I rushed inside to ask where to go and was advised it was around the corner. It seems the collins street entrance was the original entrance and then later they made the drive entrance around the corner. We had a...

We arrived at the Grand Hyatt for a relaxing 3 night holiday with Club lounge access over the New Year's Eve period. Unfortunately the room safe wasn't working. We called for attendance and after 40 minutes of waiting the maintenance arrived. So we decided to then go the lounge for a quiet drink and canapé. The lounge resembled a global...

We stayed in a Grand King room. It was spacious and the outlook from the 18th floor was good. Both the King bed and "roller bed" that we used were comfortable. The shower lacked a bit of water pressure but was adequate. Nice toiletries were provided. Noticed some "plumbing"/running water noises from adjacent bathrooms; otherwise it was a peaceful stay....

My boyfriend and i stayed for 7 nights from boxing day to 2nd jan 2017. The room was awesome and bed was really comfortable. Unfortunately the walls of the rooms were too thin. I could hear the sound of water pipes running when people shower next door in the morning and the sound of doors closing and staff's walkie talkie...

First let me say that I am a platinum Hyatt member, along with my wife (which means "nothing" in Hyatt program, but that's another story). As a platinum member, we were put in a room in 12th floor (either 1225 or 1226, I don't remember exactly). An unbearable machine noise began in the evening and lasted until 8am or so...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
