Detailed Reviews
At under $150 per night, Platinum members receive access to the Executive lounge and very acceptable breakfast which makes it one of the best value offerings in Melbourne. Canapes were not quite their usual standard due perhaps because of the time of the year. However, overall, we always enjoy this hotel as the staff are consistently helpful and friendly.

This is a great place to stay when visiting Melbourne. It’s out of the city next to Albert Park but sits roughly half way between the main restaurant areas in the city and St Kilda. The Last stop on the St Kilda airbus line is just a short walk across the park. The main benefit is the tram line runs along the road immediately behind the hotel making very easy access to all area. Although trams are free within the city they aren’t out here but you can buy a MYKI tram card from a shop just around the corner from the hotel (walk down the passageway to the left of the hotel)
Although the hotel sits on a very busy road the soundproofing blocked all noise out. The rooms are a good size and we had nothing to complain about. Prices are very reasonable especially when compared to city hotels
Th main lobby and bar area was unfortunately a bit lifeless earning the hotel 4 stars instead of 5. This could be easily sorted especially by changing the ridiculous furniture in the lobby.
All in all an excellent place to stay easy for those without a car but also those with as there is a large car park immediately behind the hotel.
I would stay again.

As usual the Pullman, Albert Park, went over and above our expectations.
Not only did they "complimentary upgrade our room" to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, we arrived to our room decorated with 2 huge balloons stating 50, a wonderful bottle of wine and a decadent platter of chocolates with the wording "Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary".
Our visit to the dining room for Dinner saw two complimentary glasses of bubbly arrive, and a stunning dessert platter with "welcome back" scrolled in chocolate.
How special all your staff made us feel. We will always remember how every staff member went "over and above" with their caring and attention, to make our stay a memorable occasion. Thank you.

I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels, and Pullman’s are always disappointing for one reason or another - they just don’t pay attention to detail. Check in - I had to keep asking questions: how do I get to the room? Do I need a wifi code? Where is breakfast served? Where do I park my car? Etc etc... and I only got one key which made it a bit tricky for the 2 of us. Granted she was a trainee, and she was nice, but I was made feel like an interruption by the staff member who was helping her.
I must say the valet parking attendant gave the best service out of anyone at the hotel!
The rooms are nicely furnished, nice size, very comfy beds, with a choice of lumpy or hard pillows.
The shower had quite a bit of mould in the corners, again lacking that attention to detail.
Breakfast we arrived the same time as about 100 conference attendees, so it was very loud, very busy and very poor service. I was made leave my handbag at the door! Not ok.
The food was less than exciting and the room smelled of old cooked fatty egg.
The coffee machine was broken and they ran out of quite a few things we couldn’t wait around for. You could get ‘barista’ coffee for an extra charge, but 1) you couldn’t find any staff to actually get the coffee and 2) it wasn’t barista made, it was from a machine.
Their fruit was mostly tinned, it’s summer in Australia, have fresh fruit!
There was a multitude of cooked toast/muffins/crumpets at the based of the toaster, so I tidied that up so I could use it. The pile was still there when we left.
Even the breakfast staff, attention to personal detail was lacking. You notice all these little things when service is terrible. As we left breakfast, not even a goodbye/thank you/have a nice day, nothing.
If this was a 3 star hotel I’d be less disappointed, but at nearly $200 a night for a midweek stay, it’s not worth it.

Dear ThabithaAbbot, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay at Pullman Melbourne Albert Park. We are indeed unhappy that we could not deliver your expectations. We have taken note of your comments with regards to the room, valet parking etc., where you were pleased but let you down with the breakfast . Our team is in discussions how we can improve these areas when we have large groups and ensure discerning guests are given the service that they expect. We hope that we will have another opportunity to make amends and thank you again for your letting us know of your experience. Kind regards. Michael Thomas General Manager

Every time I travelled to Melbourne the Pullman Albert Park used to be my goto choice for staying at a hotel. They always exceeded my expectations.
Well it’s been a little while since my last stay and wow have things since changed.
I ordered the executive room which allows access to the lounge (this is the only reason I book the executive room)
Check in:
No mention of the lounge, benefits or anything else, just here are your keys.
We were early so I knew the room wouldn’t be ready, I simply asked if we could have access to the lounge earlier so we could unwind and relax a little from the flight.
To my amazement they said no we can’t provide access, only once your room is ready.
Very odd from previous check in experiences as they were always a accommodating.
Day 1
I missed my first days stay of the canapés as apparently the time it starts is now from 4:30pm-6:30pm. The time it states on the website is from 5:30pm-7:30pm . When I questioned concierge he had no idea. No real apologies and basically “bad luck”.
Day 2
We thought we would try breakfast in the lounge. To my surprise the room was empty, when I went downstairs to chat with reception apparently they have axed breakfast in the lounge and now you eat in the normal breakfast area.
Breakfast was ok.
Canapés
This time we went early and tried the canapés, the selection was very very limited from food to booze, completely different to my many previous experiences at this lounge.
Day 3
I decided to ask for late check out to 12pm, normally when you have an executive room they accommodate wherever they can.
The reception said sure we can definitely help you out but it will cost $10.
Now this have never happened before, the fact that he did not acknowledge my previous loyalty over the years, the many thousands I have spent. Nothing.
I checked out and scratched the Pullman Albert Park off my list.
The only thing I can put this down to is a change of management.
It’s sad to be honest.

This is not 4 stars
It would appear Pullman have reset their standard based on recent covid forced-isolation stays with regards to room cleanliness and service, but have maintained their price.
Just a short summary:
Room had a pungent smell of cooked noodles
Didn’t repack the tea or coffee
Toiletries lacking
Lacking blankets
Told we needed to book for a clean or they’ll only clean your room every 3 days!!
So IF you get a towel, hold onto it for those 3 days. They don’t like to replace them

I booked this hotel 6 months ago for my Birthday as a treat. I am also an Accor Plus Platinum member.
Check in was slow however staff were pleasant. No overview of the hotel was given or available in the room and no upgrade was provided for my Platinum status.
The room was small and dark but appeared to have been recently repainted. When the curtains were opened the carpet was badly stained and worn, there were no glasses provided but were delivered very quickly when requested.
Pullman hotels are described as Premium 4.5 star however there is no hint of this in the room. I have stayed in Ibis hotels with nicer more modern rooms in the last month. Our room had a very noisy air con unit that maintenance was unable to fully fix and also was not cooling correctly, we hardly had any sleep the first night and the second night the large picture above the bed fell down in the middle of the night. I did request a room change however I was told they were fully booked.
The restaurant is also closed like most Accor hotels still, however they were providing light meals in the bar.
This hotel is clearly being run down and is no more than a 3 star hotel with very basic rooms with basic amenities, car parking is single entry only so if you exit and return you have to repay the full amount. There is nothing to recommend at this hotel which is a real shame. I stayed at the Mercure section of the hotel 4 years ago and had a very nice stay, the whole property has been let go since then.
I did manage to have an informative discussion with the duty manager who confirmed all my feelings about this hotel, clearly the staff are frustrated as well.

I have stayed at the Pullman Albert Park many times and have always given it a 5 star rating. However on Anzac Day break 24th and 25th 2022, I only gave it a two stars and also quit the Accor group after a membership of well over 10 years.
The room I had on the 8th floor had great views of Albert Park lake, Port Phillip Bay and the Melbourne city skyline. The bed was comfortable and the furniture and other fittings were great. What was missing, no drink glasses, for wine, spirits or a beer. No clock. No magazines on what was happening in Melbourne, no directory to tell what services were available or a menu if wanted to have a meal in your room. My wife wanted a extra blanket as she was cold, not available.
The worst was yet to come, when we arrived was concerned about the dining and I was assured by reception that if the resturant was not open we could be well looked after in the atrium, yeah, right. The first night I ordered a chardonay for my wife, but they had run out and she had to settle for a rose. I think I wanted a specific beer but they had run out of that as well. When we got to our table we were given the menu, from memory there were around 6 main courses listed, these included a steak, a snitchel, a soup, a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and two vegitarian dishes. I think one of the vegitarian dishes had sold out. Not good.
The second night was a repeat of the first, however they had now run out of the soup and my wife had to settle for a toasted sandwich and a rose. On the same day we went to a little resturant called Rosco's on St Kilda Road, with 40 other people, after the Anzac Day March on 25th for lunch, they offered 70 different meals plus a specials board. And supplied all the food and drinks we wanted.
I complained to the Pullman of what I thought was absolute dreadfull service and told him about my Rosco's experinence and received a standard apology. Never again Accor.

Will be the last stay at this hotel. Arrived to a room smelling of cigarettes that was reportedly just cleaned. Moved to another room which had torn curtains, mould in the shower, iron didn't work correctly and a significant crack in the plaster ceiling. Food in the lounge was not hot and the third lift was out of order for the duration of my 3 day stay. Insufficient front counter staff during what was "Grand Prix" week resulted in delays. Was a frequent guest at this hotel up until this stay. Very disappointing for a Pullman Hotel and Accor management need to do something about the overall condition of the hotel if they intend to retain business clientele. This is the first time in 20 years of travel that I have left a negative response on a feedback form.

It was a very disappointing stay. They were very obviously under lack of staff pressures. They made us aware of staff issues at check-in however it was far worse than they led us to believe. Our room was cleaned only once in our 7 day stay. Even after asking on day 3 and was assured it would be cleaned it was still 2 more days before it happened. We did get fresh towels delivered when we asked, the towels were not drying during the day. The eating areas were also in need of a clean. Overall we would not be returning unless we read more positive reviews.

Russells_Holidays asked a question May 2018
South Hedland, Australia132 contributions49 helpful votesWe are thinking about booking an executive room. What is the executive lounge like and what is on offer there?
We stayed on the executive floor with access to the lounge - it's a bit small but has drinks and canapes between 5-8pm.
It's nice, but I wouldn't pay a lot more for it.
There is an iron and ironing board in each room; and a gym onsite. I don’t think they have a laundry as they offer laundry service at an extra fee.
Dear Darryl Z,
Please contact the hotel directly to speak with our Reservations team.
