What a find! After trawling the net for far too many hours looking for a good deal.......this was a great choice for a truly centrally located hotel on minimum $. The room was small but very clean, with a small fridge & had a great view [what a bonus]. Although they felt quite new, the beds were VERY firm -...

Accessable and efficient - a great way to stay in Melbourne. We had breakfast at the first floor and what I liked was the preparation of eggs for breakfast anyway you preferred and the discount for being an Accor Advantage Plus member.

Once thing I love about this hotel is being so central..pretty much with everything. It is just right next to DJ & Myer and all top shopping centre in the CBD. It is also close to Chinatown where you can get a massive selection of good great foods. The staff are very friendly, inspite of being so busy with check...

Like other 3 stars hotel in, it has relatively small room. They have receptionist from several country from asia who can speak those languanges. So it make easier for guest from asia to communicate to the staff, so they will feel at home during they stay on Mercure Welcome. The location is in the heart of Melbourne CBD, tram is...

I have always stayed at your hotel, mainly for convenience as I am a disability pensioner, I had no problems with your service, but for a single person I just find it a little expensive, other than that I enjoyed my stay, and will stay there in the future. Thank you Take Care Charlene Procter room number 241.

Went to Melbourne this week and again stayed at the Mercure Welcome in Little Bourke Street. Wouldnt hesitate to stay here again at any time. Its slap bang in the centre of town and very convenient to everything. Some people have said its noisy as there is a construction site opposite but I havent found it to be annoying at...

Chinatown and shopping is on the doorstep as are plenty of good CBD restaurants. The hotel itself feels kind of rundown and rooms are small and in need of some work. If you just need a place to crash in the heart of it all, then this is a good option.

Loved staying here - the location is perfect! City central and the staff are fantastic. The lovely gentleman on check in asked us why we were in town and when I told him it was our anniversary he gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne! So lovely. It is located above Haighs chocolates which is quite handy for a little...

Our stay at the Mercure Welcome was lovely and we enjoyed ourselves. The only thing wrong with the trip is that the hallway leading to our room (1028) smelt quite bad - like stale vomit or cheese and wasn't very pleasant when walking to or from our room. Other than this it was a pleasurable experience and I would recommend...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
