Stayed here recently and was very impressed, friendly staff and a great looking place. Room was clean and very modern, the bathroom was very nice which is a huge plus as previous hotels I've stayed in the bathrooms have been of a poor quality. Very close to everything the CBD has to offer.

We stayed here recently during a trip to explore Melbourne. I liked the fact that it was very close to Southern Cross Station and the Skybus service. It was a good base for getting around town. The quality of the room was fine. The bed and bedding were more than good and we both had a very good night's sleep....

I visited in an urgency n found a last minute deal i actually visited in easter 2013.there was 15$ parking but no one charged me for that . I opted for no view to save cost so it was without view. Big rooms n good facilities. Quite liked it. Breakfast was good quality at a good price and in a...

Hidden gem on Spencer Street, 5 minutes from Southern Cross Station. I was surprised at how nice the Atlantis was. Reception was modern and had a great feel to it. The staff were brilliant and able to give advice on restaurants in the area etc. Room was nice and clean, although basic and the bed was quite confortable with an...

I was most disappointed with this hotel. I am not sure how it attracts a 4-star rating (probably the in-house pool or car parking) - in my view the rooms are certainly no more than a 3-star standard. Rooms are modern but spartan, fittings are cheap and the rooms generally are cheerless and lack character. Docklands view rooms do not...

The hotel is a great location to the bus and train station as well as the free city tram. It is within walking distance of the Victoria Market. The rooms are large but not very functional. There is no reading light which was very difficult when there are two sharing a room and one reads late into the night and...

Compact room but was only $150 / 3 adults, beds clean & comfy + $15 parking. Clean bathroom with all the usual freebies. Great location walking distance to Casino and many other attractions. Will be back.

I have stayed at Atlantis for both short and longer periods over 3 years. The good points: staff, location, bathrooms, size of room. The bad: room cleaning is pretty haphazard, no proper laundry/dry cleaning service (bag of washing done overnight but no pressing), breakfast is pretty ordinary. For visitors, the free City Circle tram is nearby, trams to CBD out...

I stayed here for 3 nights, I found the experience wonderful. It was in a great location. Free Tram is just nearby. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely & clean & comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
