Walked in despairing after 48 hours of chaos with Port Douglas blacked out, cancelled hotel room followed by JetStar cancelling our flight. Marin on reception was a gift from the Heavens. Checked us in early, found us an extra night, fixed the rate and just about saved our lives. So to the hotel... crinkly new, something about the bathroom which just WORKS and a super comfy bed. I'm sure Melbourne is stunning but we are only here for three days and we ain't leaving the hotel. M-Club. I forgot the M-Club. Like the old days... considerate service, scrummy snack foods and a cracking selection of beers. Marvin - note the V - is one of the best hosts I've seen. Wake up Colin... you must be dreaming? Bonvoy recognition, super property and a rockin' product. Try it!

Don’t bother with the infinity pool, it’s windy, cold and like used towels and food boxes left everywhere. We purchased infinity pool passes but I would not and cannot recommend the pool to anyone for several reasons listed below: - it’s windy and cold - it was like the local tip when we arrived. Used towels, disregarded pizza boxes, hot chip boxes, cans all left on tables. Napkins floating around in the pool and even those white hotel slippers. - squashed for space - lounge chairs and chairs in the shade - limited food and drink - there doesn’t appear to be any manger. - filthy and cold. Pool might be heated but for me there is nothing amazing about this out door pool expect for the view and if you had the pool to yourselves. No reserved seating / lounges for the promoted pool passes. For an international traveller, this is a major let down. The wait staff where very average too. Nice and average. - very limited food and drinks order.

This hotel was next to a tram station which route 70,35 and 75 tram provided a link to downtown. Overall the transportation was convenient. Rooftop pool and gym was fantastic. M club was open 24 hours so you can grab some soft drink and coffee and not bad happy hour was provided. Breakfast for Marriott elite members was in the restaurant next to lobby.

We had a great stay once again at this Hotel where everyone greets you with a friendly smile and makes you feel welcome. Chicken Sandwiches in the Lobby Bar area are a must, along with a drink or two as you relax and watch the world go by! If you are looking to stay in the Docklands area, this is the place for you and there are trams running frequently from right outside the front entrance so it makes it very convenient to get you to wherever you need to go.. As well as comfortable rooms, this Hotel also has a great Pool area with spectacular views over the City. We always enjoy our visits here and find it very relaxing.

We booked a one night stay at the Marriott Dockland for New Year Eve this year to see the New Year Fireworks at Docklands. Our check in by Didac was very helpful and friendly. We were given a very quiet room on the 6th Level and also have access to the 24/7 M Club Lounge on the 3rd Level- being a Titanium Member. The room was very modern, spacious, clean with every required amenities. Lighting level is bright and effective both day and night. The king bed was very comfortable. The view from the window towards the Yarra was partially blocked by nearby high rises, but a bit of the M2 can be seen in the Distance. That also meant, we and seemingly most of the hotel guests had a short five minute walk to this side of Docklands for watching the Fireworks- no issues at all. We used the Lounge for late pm hor d'ouevres. The food provided was quite good. Service by the Lounge Manager and Staff was absolutely top class. I should add that all of the hotel staff that we met during our short stay were cheerful, helpful and efficient. We had a very good breakfast in Archer Restaurant on New Year Morning. Variety of hot and cold food was very, very good. Again, the staffs here were super efficient and service was excellent. As the Carpark was across the street and 50m up street above the Supermarket and Shops, we checked in leaving our luggage at Reception before parking our car and did the reverse when checking out. Our stay was most enjoyable.

Stayed there for 5 nights and I have to say the Club Floor room was great both in terms of size as well as in terms of amenities. The hotel has a modern vibe. Their Club Lounge is OK, however the choice of Canapés during Cocktail Hours was a bit underwhelming in terms of choices. I did like the friendliness of the staff especially but not only in the Lounge, probably would stay again in this hotel if the price is right same as during my stay.

We booked a room with M club acces. As per webpage breakfast should be available at the M club- it was not. The pads for the coffee machine run out- not just one morning- 4 in a row. Instead the hotel offered coffee from a pump machine- the Barrista coffee was charged extra. Also the Gin in the M club run out- no spare bottle available. The pool was full of jumping children- no one seemed to care that swimming people are safe. Reading the comments from October, no improvement, rather getting worse.

Lounge staff and service saved our stay, and this review...Even though we paid extra for upgrade room with bath tub due to our 40th anniversary and 1st trip to Oz.. NADA.. If not for Club Lounge staff this review would be at most a 2 star.. Breakfast was sub par ... Recognition of Titanium status NADA Recognition of 40th anni NADA, apart from a welcome bottle of water!!! Location nowhere near any restaurants, admittedly free trams a bonus.. but please a decent restaurant in house or nearby would be good...

Dear Dive321, Firstly, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for choosing the Melbourne Marriott Hotel Docklands for your 40th anniversary and your first trip to Australia. Such momentous occasions deserve nothing but the best, and it is deeply regrettable that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. Your recent feedback on TripAdvisor is invaluable to us, and I apologize for the areas where we fell short, particularly with regard to our breakfast offerings and the recognition of your Titanium Elite member status and special occasion. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, and clearly, we missed the mark during your stay. On the topic of breakfast, We have arranged for an immediate review with our culinary team to enhance the quality and variety of our offerings. I am also scheduling discussions with our front office and guest relations teams to ensure our recognition programs reflect the high standards that Marriott Bonvoy members and valued guests like you expect and deserve. Regarding your comments about restaurant options, I'm glad to inform you that we do have an in-house, award-winning restaurant, Archer's Restaurant. However, your feedback has prompted us to evaluate the restaurant's opening times and availability to better accommodate our guests' needs. We will be discussing potential adjustments with our management team to ensure that you and future guests have convenient and exceptional dining options during your stay. Once again, I sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you've experienced and hope you will afford us the opportunity to rectify these shortcomings on your next visit. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. Kind Regards, Metin Akture Front Office Manager
