No complimentary tea or coffee was provided as with all other hotel chains. The front cover of the air conditioner in one room fell off and had to be taped up for the duration of the stay. No restaurant opened or food available. Manger viewed stains on sofa and housekeeping was meant to clean stains, but this did not occur.

Called up on the phone last minute after having another hotel cancel on us last minute, leaving my friends and I stranded in Melbourne. Called up Mantra and secured 3 rooms over the phone, this was all an easy process. Arrived at the hotel and checked in. Rooms were very clean and tidy with nice furniture, staff were friendly (shoutout to Arnie at the front desk), and the experience overall was excellent. The gym could have had a bit more equipment, such as a bench or squat rack, but this is only nitpicking as it had plenty of machines. Excellent stay, definitely recommend!

Our stay at Mantra St Kilda Road Melbourne was very pleasant and situated close to where we where going. The staff especially Campbell at reception and the room cleaning ladies on our floor were all very professional and pleasant.

No driveway/cover to the hotel entrance so arriving in pouring rain had no choice but to get saturated walking from the street to reception. Upon check in no staff there, just a sign with a phone number to call. A very frazzled duty manager appeared a few minutes after the phone call. The king size bed is not at all a king. It’s two single beds pushed together. Makes for an extremely uncomfortable night sleep with the constantly sinking into the ‘join’ of the two beds. Bedhead had paint peeling off it everywhere, old lumpy pillows and a ridiculously loud fridge and air con. Air con randomly kept switching itself off throughout the night. Ceiling looked like a basement carpark. No food options whatsoever available on site. Staff say it’s “due to covid restrictions” but with literally hundreds of other hotels now having food options again I feel like this is a very poor excuse. I honestly think the best part about this visit was checking out and vowing never to return

Hi austraveller90, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mantra St Kilda Road Melbourne. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. I can certainly appreciate with the hotel being located back off the street level this caused an inconvenience whilst in wet weather, our apologies. Our restaurant is temporarily closed for the foreseeable future. The communication on our behalf was incorrect as restrictions as we know have lifted. Unfortunately though the restaurant is not sustainable in this continued challenging environment. We endeavour to communicate this through online channels and over the phone. Thank you and regards, Andrew GM
