Ink Hotel stands out for its eclectic atmosphere and prime location, with guests enjoying the quirky decor, proximity to attractions, and vibrant setting. Although the rooms are consistently praised for their cleanliness, some guests have mentioned they are on the smaller side, and a few have experienced issues with noise and lighting.
The hotel's pet-friendly policy and modern amenities are a hit, but service quality appears to vary. Despite this, many travelers see Ink Hotel as offering good value for their stay.

Detailed Reviews
I stayed in room 102 (The Pocket) there is no window in this room which allows you a completely dark room for sleeping, I loved it.
The hotel is new and very funky, I love the simplicity and minimal frills, it's exactly what I want in a hotel, clean simple room for sleeping and a chilled bar/restaurant location for breakfast in the morning or a drink before bed.
Coffee was fantastic (it's free throughout your stay) and being a soy milk drinker I appreciated the use of the happy happy soy boy brand.
My only complaint was on occasion I had to go into the hallway outside my room to be able to connect to the wifi, once connected however it was fast and reliable.
I will definitely stay here again assuming that the price doesn't go up too much after the opening specials.

We stayed here for a couple of days in a basic room - bed in one side, shower and amenities on the other, with a floating wall dividing the two. Squishy per the title, but no complaints given the price for a modern hotel in central Melbourne. The amenities were all up to date, the shower roomy, and there was enough airflow that smells didn't linger in the bed area. We loved being able to walk throughout South Bank and the CBD and then coming back and being able to flop into a comfortable room and bed.
Our main warning is the staff really don't seem to know what's going on with parking. The website mentions a discounted rate per day, but we had to ask specific questions to find out that it's not actually per day - it's per entry/exit, a big difference if you're entering and leaving throughout the day. It's also cheaper to pre-book directly with the parking location depending on when you're entering and leaving, e.g. on a weekend or overnight.

My partner and I stayed here for a night and we were very surprised with how amazing this hotel is. The staff are welcoming and very accommodating- we were very happy with the complimentary tea and coffee throughout our stay and a complimentary alcoholic drink. The rooms are quite small but if you’re not going to spend a lot of time in your room it’s perfect. The hotel is situated in a very nice location, Crown is in walking distance and there isn’t too much traffic or noise. The hotel is very unique, it’s the first hotel I’ve stayed in that has Chrome Cast and it’s definitely a win! We were so pleased with our stay we will definitely come back.

Modern and up to date facilities in walking distance to everything you need for your stay in Melbourne. We stayed in the comfy room which was a tight squeeze, but suitable if you’re not intending on staying in the room much. The windows were frosted out which was disappointing as we had no view of the CBD and it did make the room more claustrophobic.
Not many staff working and it’s acknowledged that it has been a difficult time for the hospitality industry due to COVID-19.
We had breakfast included as part of a deal which was only toast, eggs and either bacon or tomato. This was misleading based on information on the website for what food was available. Food not very enjoyable. It’s also advertised pastries are fresh daily however we noted the same selection of muffins over our stay (2nights).
Very pleased with no single use toiletries and the funky tie option you can hang on your door for do not disturb.

The Ink Hotel was exactly what I needed for my time in Melbourne. I was in town for the first week of the Australian Open, and I wanted a comfortable, lively, convenient, affordable, and stylish place to stay while I was there. I liked the look of Ink from the website, so I went ahead and booked it. What I found exceeded my expectations! The location on the south bank of the river was convenient to all the riverside activities, the CBD, and the sporting events. I walked nearly everywhere, occasionally jumping in an Uber to head to a meal in Fitzroy or the market in St. Kilda, but otherwise I found everything I wanted close to home. The decor was fun and interesting, the staff were all friendly and helpful, the free espressos in the morning were the perfect way to start my day, the lobby was always filled with interesting people to chat to if you wanted, and my room was perfectly appointed with just about everything I could need. The only thing I would change is that the room was a bit small and with no bureau or shelves, so I had to be a little creative about where to stash my things, but I still found a place for everything. Absolutely no other complaints. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a lovely first time in Melbourne!

I stayed mid-week for a city conference and Ink is just a short stroll to the city, in particular, Melbourne Convention Centre, Crown and plenty of the city's attractions.
The staff are friendly, there's free (and great quality) coffee in the lobby bar all day long and the rooms are quiet (a novelty for city hotels!) clean and the beds are comfy too.
The hotel has plenty of fun quirky elements and personality, great artwork and is the perfect location for single travellers visiting for business or couples/weekenders keen to enjoy the city and its events/ attractions.

This was not a bad place to stay in Melbourne and overall I was very satisfied with my stay.
Positives:
Close location to Melbourne CBD (10 mins walk)
Friendly service
Only took a $1 charge on credit card (some places will charge hundreds)
Clean room
Great shower pressure
Heating was great
Comfortable bed
Negatives:
Could hear what sounded like a water system running all night
Signal on TV was interrupted (couldn’t even watch a game of footy)
Room size was a bit smaller than most
Bed was advertised as a double but if I had been sharing with someone else it might have been a tight squeeze
If I was staying here with my family I might stay a bit closer to the CBD as the walking might have been a bit harder for them, but as I was by myself it suited quite fine. The area also felt pretty safe at night - no drama walking from Flinders St through Southbank to the hotel.

Hotel was in a great location close to riverside restaurants and casino. Rooms were nice and was lucky enough to book through Groupon which offered a bottle of wine, breakfast and late checkout to the already reduced Saturday night price. Would highly recommended this hotel in Southbank.

Walking distance to city, Crown, Southbank, this hip Hotel is also extremely close to Skybus 207 Southbank stop so extremely convenient! Parking is also nearby, offsite for a reasonable rate. Comfort room lived up to its name - black out blinds, comfortable bed and great linen meant we slept in to 11am (normally rise around 6am), check out time, which created mild panic. Appreciated the free tea and coffee and alcoholic drink.Only glitch was at check in where there was no record of my booking (I checked it on the website the day prior and had written confirmation so it was sorted). Definitely recommend this hotel as it is reasonably priced, spotlessly clean and has a good vibe.

Not at the hotel
Simple process
Pull up at hotel and drop bags off
Do a u turn travel to 2nd left then first right into first car park for subsidised parking. ($25 per night in the middle of melbourne)
400 metre walk back to hotel
Very simple
I don’t think so our group had four rooms and non of them had a bathtub. The feeling I get is each room has the same facilities
