Detailed Reviews

Paid a few quid extra for a king bed, and felt it was worth it. Handily placed in a quietish street, the reception consists of two small standing work stations, and you have to use your room key to work the lift. But rooms are modern, compact and light, with good en suites. Room safe and fridge are good, aircon is hard to control, and the restocking of toiletries and big tools is hit and miss. No vacuuming day to day, but bed is made and pillows primped. Useful independently run coffee bar on ground floor for breakfast. Tea making in room, plus iron and ironing board. Easy one-handle sink tap and shower control.

I recently had a stay at Brady Hotels Jones Lane, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel's strategic location in the heart of the CBD area made it incredibly convenient, with many attractions within walking distance. The abundance of nearby restaurants added to the convenience.
The room was of a decent size and the bed provided a comfortable night's sleep. I particularly appreciated the good amenities, including fluffy towels, and the availability of a laundry room, which is a valuable feature for travelers. The cardio gym met my basic exercise needs, and the service provided by the staff was exceptional. They were incredibly helpful and efficient, ensuring a positive guest experience.
However, there were a few downsides. The shower was quite fidgety, making it difficult to find the right temperature, which was inconvenient. Additionally, there were occasional sewage smells in the lift landing on my floor, which was unpleasant. Furthermore, noises from the plumbing and neighboring rooms' doors could often be heard, affecting the overall tranquility of the stay.
Despite these minor issues, I appreciate the efforts of the staff and the hotel's amenities. With some improvements in the shower and addressing the odors and noises, Brady Hotels Jones Lane could offer an even more delightful stay for its guests.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for 5 nights. Contactless check in via text message made for a smooth process; all I had to do was pick up my room keys.
My room on the 12th floor was compact but everything felt and looked clean, which is a big plus. My room had a small "balcony" which was nice to step out on for some fresh air. It would have been good to have a door stop however to keep the door open for said fresh air into the room. (The bin did a good job!)
Bathroom was neat and tidy. Not a lot of bench space if you're needing to put make up on or like to keep your toiletries out. The power point was behind the mirror which didn't quite work for needing to dry hair in front of a mirror. I used the power point next to the kettle and by the wardrobe with the full mirror instead.
Bed was firm but comfortable and pillows to my liking. General traffic noise could be heard from outside but this is standard for majority of CBD hotels.
Location didn't disappoint. Very close to transport options and easily walkable to a lot of attractions. Entry by swipe card after hours is a great extra security precaution.
Staff were all lovely in all dealings with them. Room was only fully serviced once during stay but new towels and toiletries were brought and bins emptied everyday which was appreciated. Staying solo, I didn't really need for full service of room anyway.
It had been 2 and a half years since my last trip to Melbourne and this hotel definitely helped me have a fantastic return trip.

Greater nicely at reception and check in went very smoothly, wasn't explained how the lift worked with the room key and the smell in the lift was very disgusting. Smelt like sewage and old rubbish.
The room itself was nice, little small but had what you needed for an over night stay, it would be nice if the windows were clean so you could see the beautiful view with out spots of dirt all over it.
The bedding was filthy and dis not look like the sheets were changed from previous guest! There was skin flakes and hair on top of the sheet, was too late to call reception as we got back to the hotel at 2am.
I spoke to reception in the morning and he didn't seem to care to be honest. Just mention he would take it up with house keeping.....
Bed was comfy and the shower worked well, really just an average hotel nothing fancy at all.

I stayed for 3 nights in total. In the 2nd morning (3 Oct 2024), the toilet was blocked (I was just putting toilet paper in like any civilized tourist) so I called the front desk and ask for help. The receptionist was extremely kind to offer to SEND A TOILET PUMP SO I CAN FIX ON MY OWN. What a considerate response!
At the end I insisted to change my room so she finally agreed to send a staff to help. (The staff who came help was very kind and he successfully fixed the problem.)
I do not think asking a customer to fix a problem toilet is what a 4-star hotel should do. The hotel should give better training to staff.

Stayed for one night during the long weekend. Check in is done online, so pick up key.
Juliette room small but bed comfortable. TV doesn’t have chromecast, has free to air, screen mirror, some Bluetooth capabilities.
Shower head pressure weak flow but had toiletries supplied. Grouting in the bathroom could do with cleaning, but otherwise clean.

We were in Melbourne for a work conference followed by an Awards Night and were very thankful that our rooms were ready prior to the check in time as we had some work to do and then needed to get ready for the black tie event. The staff were super friendly and the rooms are well designed and very clean. Wish there were Brady Hotels in other States!

Compact and no fuss. Quiet room with comfortable bed and decent bathroom. Check in was to the point, no extra flair or warmth. Small reception area that was crowded with just a few others and their luggage. This property is a classic ‘pay for what you get’ - reasonable rate for reasonable service.

I chose the hotel for its location - central and within walking distance to everything I needed, including public transport. Check in was easy, friendly and courteous.
I try to avoid noisy hotels and so booked a Business Room, chosen as the safest bet for low noise and was checked into one on Level 5 at the rear of the hotel as noted.
The room was more spacious than expected and very clean, with a modern bathroom. But it overlooked a restaurant with the loudest exhaust fan I have ever heard. I put up with it for a while, but in the end went back to reception to chat about it.
The staff were wonderful, recalled the note in my booking and after showing me alternative rooms ended up putting me on Level 20 in a room with a small balcony. It was far enough away from the main noise to not be bothered by it with the door closed. So I appreciated that.
The bed was comfy, the bathroom a bit small but clean and the water pressure was a bit lacking, but overall I had a very pleasant stay at the hotel.
Oh, and while there's no on site breakfast (noted the attached café is for lease) there's a café across the road that does decent coffee and basic breakfast.
I'd recommend.

This modern hotel is located in close proximity to Chinatown. We visited Melbourne for the Billy Joel concert along with half of Australia. It was very busy but it was great to see things back to normal. The city was alive and there were great restaurants and bars in easy walking distance to this hotel. Check in was easy and the staff very professional and friendly. Our room was modern and comfortable but it was the smallest room we have ever stayed. There was no room to store our suitcases so we were stepping over them all the time. Bathroom was nice. Bed very comfortable. Did I mention the room was tiny? There is no bar or restaurant attached to the hotel. I have given this hotel a four star review simply because the size of the room and the fact there is no provision to sit and have a drink at the hotel. I would recommend this hotel if you are travelling solo or with carry on luggage only. If you are travelling with full size cases or staying any longer than a couple of days take the room size into consideration. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again with the above in mind

I didn’t have any incidentals held during my stay there. Reckon they already have my credit card details so that’s a good safekeeping
About 2km or so - you could walk, take a tram, or drive/catch a taxi/rideshare vehicle easily from the hotel or a short walk from the hotel
Thanks for the reply !
No, they are located in an alley way, not on the Main Street....but there is a parking garage near by i believe they have a deal of some sort with the hotel
Yes, I stayed in a balcony room (1901) and it had a fridge. (No mini bar, so plenty of room)
