Was in a good location. The staff were very lovely and I thought it was a good ides that you could hire bikes or small cars to get around. Our room was very small for a 5 star hotel but it was presented immaculately. The shower was great.

Our beautiful one bedroom suite at The Olsen blew my expectations away and really completed this magical staycation for us. The staff were so accommodating and the bed was so luscious, felt like sleeping on Cloud 9. Definitely rebooking!

It's a business trip this time. I have stayed for a holiday and loved it and have repeat visited, but when travelling for business you need other things. You need quiet, you need comfort and you are time poor because you are rushing back and forth to meetings. I'm pleased to say the Olsen made the cut ten fold. When...

This South Yarra hotel is perfect! Amazing location re cafes, restaurants, bars, public transport and Melbourne CBD landmarks, comfortable and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, attentive and very friendly service and superb amenities including rooftop pool and adjoining restaurant. Hence our US based company (including our VIP clients) always stays here when we travel to Melbourne.

I stay at The Olsen at least once a month for a few nights at a time and it's perfect for both my business and longer term travel requirements! Excellent location with a short stroll further into Prahran and South Yarra or across the river to Richmond. My only bug bears were at not being able to prepay but my...

We spent 2 nights at the Olsen on Chapel Street which refreshed the batteries brilliantly; great staff, best beds and pillows ever and all in all extremely good value. South Yarra is a buzzing area and a great pace to stay when visiting Melbourne. Good tram and train links to the city centre. Cannot fault the Olsen

This was our second visit to Melbourne and we had wanted to stay more centrally but what with the dismal exchange rate and being there midweek meant prices were sky high. So we looked a little further out to the Olsen in South Yarra. Being familiar with the area and wanting to explore some different things on this visit we...

Where to start? Normal I have a level of understanding for things going wrong, but the amount of errors, faults and issues really made our stay here disappointing. Room bathroom drains were blocked, rather than moving us, were told we will try to get it fixed, we had to plead for a fresh room. We got stuck in the lifts...

My second visit to The Olsen and it did not disappoint. The room was great, the location was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Each room has a lovely little kitchenette area that is well stocked and helps make it feel like a home away from home. The art all around the hotel was also really impressive and I loved...

Stayed here recently and loved the location. Room was great, comfy bed with fabulous pillows. Bathroom with all the amenities but was a bit tiny however it worked for me. Friendly reception with easy checkin and check out. My only criticism would be the slowness of the lift and the annoying "doof doof" music in the hallway but yes I...

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
