I loved this apartment! I’ve stayed in several hotels and establishments over the past few weeks in Australia and this was the best by FAR!

Cleanliness and attention to detail were immaculate. It was so refreshing to walk into a beautiful apartment with everything taken care of - the TV was great and had movies on demand (and there was a TV in the bedroom too!), there was a washing machine and tumble dryer, with washing powder provided. There is a dishwasher (again, dishwasher tablets as well as washing up liquid provided and topped up throughout my stay). I got fresh towels everyday and my bed made/bins emptied etc. The kitchen area was so well stocked with equipment and had everything I needed and more.

Staff were very accommodating and lovely - I was able to check in over 3 hours early (which was a god send after a long flight) and check out 2 hours late (again so helpful as I was just heading to the airport so it meant I could do some final washing and get ready).

The rooftop pool, sauna and spa were a great addition too, which I used almost everyday.

Very quiet and restful place which provided me with a really good rest that I needed at this point on my trip, and allowed me to do all my washing etc in the comfort of my room, which means I’ve left feeling rejuvenated.

Very impressed and would definitely return!

We stayed here from November 4 to 8. Our flight from NZ arrived in Melbourne early morning so we were hoping for an early check-in. Our room was ready at around 1.15pm (normal check-in is 2pm) which was a little disappointing. We were, however, given a late check-out (12pm not 10am) which was very helpful. The room itself was great. Clean and spacious, it had everything we could need; oven/microwave, dishwasher, washing machine & dryer, ironing board & iron, fridge, cooktop, safe, etc. It also had two TVs and plenty of storage space. We used the gym, spa, sauna and swimming pool on the top floor, from where the views over the park and lake are spectacular. While we were outside of the free tram zone, we were able to purchase a MYKI card from reception and, after a short walk (less than 5 minutes) to the nearest tram stop, catch a tram into the central city. We actually preferred being a little way out from the busy centre of the city. Also within walking distance, or one tram stop away, we found a great Italian restaurant, Rosco's at Chevron. Lastly, and importantly, the staff were always friendly, always helpful. This will be our first choice of somewhere to stay when we next travel to Melbourne.

My husband and I stayed here for over two months while needing to be in Melbourne. We travel frequently and do both hotels and airbnb's and I found this location to be really good and this to be a great value.

The apartment itself was clean, modern and comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with high quality knives and pots and pans, which was appreciated, because that is rare. There's a few minor issues with the impractical bathroom sink and others, all minor. Super fast internet which was perfect for my work---zero problems making conference calls, etc.

The gym and rooftop area are fantastic, we often ended the day up there and used the gym daily.

Service is great....the front desk is very helpful and housekeeping staff all very helpful. Michelle was especially helpful to us while booking, and later too.

Location surrounded by parks, perfect if you like to walk or run, and tram nearby.

Overall, great stay, worked out really well for our time here.

The pros would outweigh the cons if you get a room layout that has the bedroom nearest widow side/not door side.

Pros: Fabulous rooftop pool/facilities and views, great location for the tram going both ways into the city or St. Kilda, Overall evening reception staff and cleaners were very friendly/lovely. Other guests were very friendly.

Cons: Sound of loud slamming doors our entire stay - everytime somoene went in/out their room or the firedoor. The layout for our room did not help as the bed was as soon as you walk in, so the noise of the doors kept waking us up both nights we stayed.

Our stovetop did not work so couldn't cook a meal on that. Not a big deal but to note to check first before buying groceries to cook.

One staff member was not very nice as I had mistakenly thought checkout was 1 hour later than it was (it is 10am - do not make this mistake or a passive agressive man will be very rude to you upon checkout). I am sure he has gotten it a lot in the past as seem frustrated which I can understand however it really was a bad note to end on. We were going to ask to keep our bags behind the desk for the day but he was so rude we ended up taking our suitcase with us around town so we didn't have to go back.

Chose Tyrian because its an area of the city I ve never stayed in before , it had good reviews and I liked the idea of looking out over Albert Park and so paid for a room with park views. However, only 2 bedroom apartments at the front have a proper view of the park so be aware of this. The other rooms have only a side view from the end of the balcony and as I was on the first floor all I could see was a tree trunk and cars going by. So choosing a park view does NOT mean you will get one, and I would advise against paying for one. I felt initially that I had been deceived but to some degree the positives about the place helped to negate this. And there is a stunning view from the roof, though not really anywhere to have a drink, just the poolside seating.

The apartment itself was lovely, modern, clean and very comfortable. With daily housekeeping and Fox Sports Channels. I would say the bathroom is a little small if you need to spend a lot of time in it, which I did nt so not a problem for me. Also , being on the first floor the entrance to the garage was outside my bedroom window and I was woken several times by a somebody revving a motorbike. Basically, get a high floor. The staff were always friendly and very helpful and happily supplied items that housekeeping occasionally forgot. I did not try the cafe on site.
If you don't mind walking its easy to get to the city centre, (trams are nearby also) , and the tennis and cricket events on the other side of the Domain. Indeed there is so much green space around with the Domain,Botannical Gardens and Albert Park. ( and Faulkner Park)
A lovely modern apartment, possibly just about value for money if you don't pay extra for a park view.

Had an absolutely beautiful stay here last month. The lobby, hallways and rooms are absolutely stunning and beautifully decorated. There was a tv in both the lounge area and bedroom which had Foxtel and a wide variety of free movies. There was also a coffee machine with pods, but no milk which was my only disappointment. Overall 5 star stay.

Extremely comfortable beds. Quiet, Spotless. Kitchen is great with everything you could possibly need. Staff friendly and professional. Parking on site. Mr. Percival's cafe downstairs has a wide selection of food for breakfast or lunch and the food is delicious. This is the fourth time we have stayed at Tyrian and we will be back.

Staff seemed friendly, booking and communication prior to stay excellent. Location - good but not a lot of eating choice during Xmas/NY's nearby. Pros: Comfortable beds, large space, awesome pool deck with views although pool not massive for crowds at Xmas, St Kilda close and easy to get to, convenience store and gorgeous tree lined park steps away. Facilities in apartment good on a whole. Cons: Apartment was "lightly serviced" throughout - made beds, replaced towels etc. Spills and dust/dirt on floor was left for full 5 days (no broom to DIY) Balcony area covered in cobwebs and dust. Traffic noise from our room did start early on main highway room was facing to. Mirrors all through property - in lift, in lobby, hard to get away from oneself! Our fridge wasn't operating properly for the full 5 days (which did include public hols) so we used another in a room nearby, bit painful but made do (FYI evening receptionist very helpful with trying to resolve). Overall pretty good stay. Cool coffee shop opened in building on last day of our stay.

Arrived here two days late due to Brisbane cyclone at around 8-30pm - very lukewarm welcome at reception and the male receptionist was most unhelpful in respect to parking
Corridors shabby & marks on carpet - we did have comfy beds but there was a hole in the bottom sheet
I’m sure there are better and cheaper places to stay

We enjoyed a two night stay in early December. The apartments are close to the tram system - 5 minutes walk. Our room was modern, clean and well equipped.

TIP - Visit the Prahan Markets (Tram 72) for fresh food supplies. Mr Percival Bistro (downstairs) offered a tasty menu with fair prices, And good coffee.

We'd book again when next in Melbourne.

Only $65 Uber ride to airport.

Hello, is there any type of grocery store nearby, within walking distance?
Auckland Central, New Zealand3 contributions
Small convenience shop only 3 mins walk. You can also buy tram card there. Heaps of nearby cafes - try the restaurant around the corner at the Blackman. Just 2 mins walk to lovely Fawkner park and Toorak Rd. Location is brilliant.
