I have stayed at this hotel on 3 separate occasions purely based on the location. The staff are always warm, friendly and happy to help. I would recommend requesting and paying for the top floor rooms. Based on the location ( laneway) you may expect a fevw sounds from the rubbish trucks however this is expected. They have recently opened...

My first ever personal trip to Melbourne included 2 nights at Causeway. Hotel was well placed in the centre of the city, service at the desk was great and room was well appointed and tidy. Breakfast on the other hand was shocking. Continental breakfast offered: 1 type of ham, 1 type of cheese, 2 cereal options and 1 type of...

Stayed here for four nights as part of a State of Origin trip. This hotel is central and within walking distance of most places from MCG, Victoria Markets the Casino and Etihad stadium. Exploring the streets and lanes close by is fun. Rooms are on the small size but are clean and warn. They are quiet overnight. Good value for...

Stayed here for 2 nights. Great location central to everything. The room itself is clean and fairly modern. Couldn't fault it. The staff are great. Friendly and the desk is always manned 24 hours. The breakfast is terrible though. It really is an embarrassment. Two different types of cereal and some bread. Still a great stay and the location would...

Although this hotel wasn't anything to write home about, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it either. 24/7 reception and access made check-in and check-out easy and the staff we met throughout our stay were all very friendly and helpful. The room (we were in 677) was very clean and fairly new. Some of the timber veneer furniture was chipped,...

Everything you need for a short stay in Melbourne. Great shower. Plenty of space in the room for what I needed. Iron was adequate. Stain on the doona. I didn't get a chance to request the room on a higher floor, but had no issues with noise.

We stayed here for one night in the spa room on level 6 with my partner. Room was very clean and had all the mod cons you would need for a comfortable stay. Bed was large and very comfortable. Spa was one of the better spas I've seen in a hotel. Two person and had ample jets. You don't get...

Stayed 4 nights in the Deluxe King Suit with Spa on the 9th floor. Plenty of room, but not huge. Being in Melbourne CBD very good value for the price. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Check in was quick and the staff very friendly and helpful. Great choice for location and 5min walk or less to plenty of public transport...

Not impressed. Black hair all through the spa and even on the bathroom walls. Stuck to the soap when we tried to clean the spa before we used it. Only a small spa too which was disappointing since the room was almost $40 dearer because it had a spa. What looks like a blood splatter on the curtain. Could be...

We had an overnight stay recently at this hotel, and were very happy with the position of the hotel, and the service. The decor of the room was dated, and somewhat shabby, however the kingsize bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean. The bathroom is a good size, however the room itself is rather small; but considering the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
