My partner and I visited Melbourne and stayed at Causeway 353. We were on the 8th floor, no affect from the traffic and such, very clean and comfortable. Gorgeous large bathtub as well! My only negative thing was that the freezer in the bar fridge didn't work and ice cream melted all through one half of the fridge (which we...

Stayed here over a bucks weekend and the location was perfect for various bar hoping. So close to everything and the room was great value as well. Clean and tidy, plus they checked us in early. Breakfast was good, staff were friendly and beds comfy and bathroom functional.

Recently stayed in a triple room for 5 days. The location of the hotel is amazing. Very central and close to the mall/CBD hub. Room was pleasant and comfortable. We did have issues with bathroom sink/drainage in our room, however I can't fault the front desk staff whom actioned all our requests and booked maintenance promptly. Great customer service. Comfortable...

The room felt dated, with furniture literally showing signs of scuff marks and the black TV cabinet have scratches and wood chips flaking off. The bathroom was a tight squeeze, even for us as a young couple making it difficult to time manage our stay. The receptionist upon arrival was flat and had the look of hating life, in his...

Tremendous location right in the heart of the CBD. Staff friendly and helpful. My room was clean with all extras I required and a bit more. Could not open windows for fresh air although air conditioning system worked well. I mention this as my room had a small odour which may be as a result of a plumbing issue or...

We Stayed here for three days and found this hotel to be very good value and a great location near the main shopping and commercial area . Loved the little coffee houses on the lane and fabulous restaurants in the surrounding streets. But why do hotels still charge for wifi???????

Our group of 3 had a pleasant stay at Causeway 353. Despite being a continental breakfast (not what any of us normally eat) we still enjoyed the pastries, coffee, and raisin toast every day. Our room was clean and soundproof, though a pretty tight squeeze with a king and sofa bed. The king was enormous and very comfortable, the sofa...

The only real issue I had with my room was the 2 single beds. I'm a big guy and found it uncomfortable, probably could have had a single bed & a double like a lot of hotels have. Apart from that great location and friendly helpful staff.

We stayed for seven nights this week and have been very happy with the location as everything is soo close to the hotel. Rooms are nice and neat, and can't complain with the rooms or service supplied by staff, another bonus was the hotel has a couple of washing machines and dryers available for guests to use.

Situated in an inner city laneway of Melbourne, this hotel is a great location for venturing around Melbourne. Step straight outside the door to a selection of cafes for brekkie. But note, these are not open on weekends, only week days. However, there are still many more to choose from all within an easy walk. The rooms themselves are clean...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
