great location , good staff, location is just about perfect. The bar downstairs is epically good, its separate from the hostel but is relative cheap and the backpackers still go there. Cleaning could be a bit more of a priority in this hostel as some of the rooms are a bit un hygienic. All in all it is a pretty... More

160 Dollars for a week is a very fair price for what is provided. Reception is very friendly and helpful, especially Emer. There is a free breakfast including pancakes, cereals and bread. Once a week there is a free dinner as well. The location is very central which makes a pubcrawl really easy. You can drink on level 3 till... More

When we arrived we checked in and went to the room to fine one of our beds had been slept in and had not been changed. The room was very small and very cold as the window did not close properly. One of the other guests had many boxes in the room with him which took up lots of space.... More

Amazing location, very central -- perfect for seeing the sights and going for a wander, public transport to EVERYWHERE. The common room has several big sofas, a pool table, table tennis, plenty of power outlets, and a jobs board in the corner (great for working holidaymakers). Kitchen is pretty good (no oven but plenty of hobs and a HUGE fridge),... More

Stayed one night and went somewhere else the next night. No refund offered. Worth paying for another place as couldn't bare another night here. $75 a night is ridiculous for such a crappy backpackers. Very noisy, filthy filthy toilets, and very uncomfortable single beds, the amenities are poor too with one crappy pool table and that's practically it. Have stayed... More

I wanna give 2.5 pints for great location that's all this hostel deserved. Located right in the CBD by the Yarra river close to attractions, museums, cafe shops and bars. Just perfect!! Toilets and showers were cleaned every day twice. I've stayed 4 nights and in that time room never was cleaned except that every morning rubbish bag was changed.... More

Stayed there for two nights with mum and brother in a 3 bedroom with shared bathroom. The room was very small and the hostel was very noisy. The shared bathroom wasn't that bad. Breakfast was ok for a hostel with bread and pancakes. The location is good, close to the train station.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
