The location is pretty good. Just right opposite of Flinders Station. It is very convenient as 7Eleven, MacDonald, Subway, & Strabucks etc is just downstair. One thing that the backpackes could improve is the lift! There are hunderds of backpackers who are staying the hostel but there is only one lift is usable.

Wonderful staff and location. Very strategic and just right across the tram. However bring ear plugs. The noise level and music from the pub below is pretty bad, especially on Saturday up to 5am. Food smell from the hostel's kitchen is pretty bad too. We can't close our window. No hangers, no soap, they do have towels. Bath area no...

Room and bathrooms were very clean. They have a washing machine and dryer you can use at a charge. This hostel Is situated right in the city centre. Each night there's something going on whether it's a movie or food night. Bar in the hostel is good. Free breakfast which you can have as many pancakes, toast, cornflakes muesli as...

It's cheap, conftable, clean, close to everywhere, i strongly recomend this place for backpackers just if you need to save money and meet new people, it's not good if you want to relax or you like luxury hotel.

They are one of the only hostels that let you drink in the common area. It has some pretty cool staff. Especially this wavy haired female who was super hot and kind of like the mom of the hostel even though she kind of just wanted everyone to just have a good time within the confines of the rules. But...

Due to the weather our flight was canceled but they were unwilling to work with us at all. All they seemed to care about was getting the money for the beds. I understand that they are a business but what are college student who are abroad on a small budget supposed to do when their flight was canceled? If they...

I had heard good things about Flinders but when I got there I discovered it was a pretty average hostel. The free breakfast was good but other than that you have to pay for WiFi everywhere, my room was so messy when I arrived with a sign on the door saying the other tenants needed to clean it but no...

Full of kids living there permenantly, who abuse the free food (e.g. Breakfast) by stashing it away for themselves to eat throughout the rest of the day/week. We didn't get any food at the free meal night - it ran out within 20 minutes because people took 3 helpings and filled large plastic containers with further portions. Staff were distributing...

The hostel is fine, but the service is really bad. I stayed here for 2 weeks in total but I never received my free internet. Explanation was, that I had to book one week in total, which I did, but they were full so I had to change rooms. That's bad. But breakfast is good and the rooms are fine.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
