We only spent one night here as we passed through Melbourne and found the location was great for Federation Square, shopping, Chinatown and theatres. Very comfortable room and bed was great. Breakfast was fantastic. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

In a great location at the top of Spring street (plenty of cheap places to eat). The poached eggs for breakfast and home-made baked beans were fantastic. Staff very helpful and friendly too. Only downside was the mini-en suite bathroom which was smelly and mini.

Comfortable apartments near museum area with Melbourne's free trams a very short walk away. Very helpful reception staff but breakfast area is awfully dark and uninviting. Restaurant has good, tasty snacks at lunchtime and friendly staff. Only disappointment was the dirty dishes in kitchen. Previous occupant had put dirty dishes in the cupboard which really put us off using kitchen.... More

Service of the room was poor; Twice we needed to ask for toilet paper and toiletries when we expected that these essential items would have been replenished each day. No free Wi-Fi in what was a relatively expensive unit. Ov real we were disappointed with the accommodation and are unlikely to stay there again.

We just had a 4 night stay in Melbourne Mantra on the park was great for us, great location, 10 min from the shops and federation square. Only downside was the room was a little cold not normally an issue but as we had a baby we had to borrow a heater. We will definitely stay here again.

Regular hotel with a good location in CBD Melbourne. Ok if it wasn't for the akward smell of fried food in our room. Avoid! Breakfast option ok but served in a "Dark pit". Staff in reception kind and informative but for sure know what kind of rooms they offer.

This is a very well located property in the city in Melbourne. It is old and very tired. In need of renovation or a good clean as the apartment I was in was dirty. Was to be a queen or king bed but was single beds. Reception were going to have it fixed up for my second night but it... More

I recently stayed at Mantra on the Park for Cup Week - it is the 5th time I have stayed at this apartment hotel. I think the Mantra on the Park is a bit run down these days. The bathrooms really do need an upgrade. Our bathrooms were not up to standard,.could have been cleaner in particular the showers. The... More

Great location and terrific view of the Carlton Park. Hotel needs a spruce up. Kitchen and bathroom cleanliness could be much better. Appliances of a cheap standard. Beds were comfortable and traffic noise not too bad.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
