I have stayed here twice in the past few weeks for different events in the city, both times just for a night. It is very basic, so don't expect too much. The price was super cheap as I only really needed a bed to sleep in and a shower in the morning so it suited my needs fine. I wouldn't...

If you after a basic budget hotel this is it. The beds are super comfy, the rooms are just average. The staff at leo pacific or yti are always willinging to help which is great! Hotel owners really just need to revamp the hotel rooms and the outside.

Great location at an affordable price-this helped me save on transportation fee when travelling around the city. The kitchenette was definitely useful to whip up a simple meal for budget travellers. Overall, adequately furnished with relatively well-maintained equipment and surroundings. The room was very clean when I checked-in. Although the television was tad bit small, it was still bearable.

We had booked this hotel at least twice in the past, so this is our third stay. This time we have 3 people, so we booked the apartment style room with kitchenette. We enjoy the supply of environmental-friendly soap, shampoo and conditioner. Plenty of sockets available for 3 people each with its own electronic devices. The hotel is directly opposite...

Although booked through the hotel (YTI Garden formelly City Garden) this apartment is down an alley near the hotel. There is only ONE deadbolt that works for the apartment so if anyone remains in while someone else leaves and there is a fire they can not get out. If you do not lock the people in and just leave you...

City Garden Hotel is right in the middle of Melbourne. Very close to Bourke Street Mall, lots of tram routes, shopping & cafes. H & M is literally on the next corner. Staff are friendly & helpful. The rooms are fairly basic & a little tired but very comfy beds & everything provided that you need for a pleasant stay....

Friendly staff. Great location with short walk to shopping areas, food, trams etc. Good rooms, only downfall is they could do with a bit of a paint job, nothing to major. Noise wasn't as bad as I had thought from other peoples reviews.

Even had a kitchen unit with toaster, good sized fridge which was great! Relatively clean too. Negatives - Blind with window Bed on wheels and on hardwood floor therefore rolled....no brakes! Studio room. Decent and clean. Do not expect too much. Average, but location is right at the center. Near to tram and Chinatown. CBD area. Cooking allowed and small lobby. Value for money. Will consider for next trip

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
